Heel pain is commonly caused by plantar fascitis (inflammation of the plantar fascia), which is particularly prevalent in females aged 30-45 due to factors like high heels, prolonged standing, and muscle tightness; while early morning heel pain and high arches are common signs, patients should consult a doctor if symptoms persist beyond three weeks, as neglect can lead to serious complications including muscle damage and chronic instability.

ఉదయం లేవగానే మడమ నొప్పి వస్తుందా?| Dr.Uma Sai Manukonda | Ortho Surgeon|The Foot Doctor Hospital|RTVAdded:
According to you, heel pain in heel pain actually are two types heel pain to middle age like 30 45 years females.
So I'm very commonly seeing mg that can lead to very bad issues.
From heel pain to complex ankle injuries, helping people work everyday better. Hi, this is Dr. Manisaredi.
Today we have Dr. Umaras Sai, foot and ankle surgeon. Let's welcome him.
>> Thank you for joining us sir. How are you?
>> I'm fine.
>> Okay. So please introduce yourself.
>> Hi, I'm Dr. Masai Manonda. I am a orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon and uh I work in the foot doctor hospital KS.
>> Okay. So general foot and ankles heel pain. Yes. Yes. According to you heel pain.
So heel pain.
Okay. So identifying these two is very important. So what we commonly see.
So this one actually but we can manage this effectively but posterior heel pain you should never neglect that can lead to bad consequences like muscle.
So coming to plant heel pain which is very very common. So most of this plant heel pain it is because of load issue.
So excession that may be because of your alignment.
So anything so excit because of overweight or something.
>> Okay. So all foot and conditions so weight has importance because we're discussing about load in a specific area but in general load is high and there's high chance of getting it on but it's not like every obese person will have issues. So who is having less flexibility and arch issues these people they have high chance of getting this heel pain and other foot and conditions >> according to you heel pain.
So you based on patients what I'm seeing >> so this uh like young to middle age like 30 45 years females so I'm very commonly seeing m >> in the because of usage of heel center high heel center >> that is one of the aspect but mainly standing so while standing So some most commonly I'm seeing these kind of people body yeah body I'm discussing about calve muscle tightness so even muscle but that can have a lot of impact on your heel okay >> so that's why flexibility also they say >> impact okay >> so what exactly is plantar fascitis >> so plantar tight.
So it is inflammation that creates pain. So that isitis. Okay. Younger generation.
Yeah.
And also but there's one more condition like high arch. Okay. So normal look like very beautiful but these people actually have lot of heel pain issues. Okay. Because back so most of these people end up with heel pain foroot pain. So this is actually cases heel pain cases low I should say touchwood like 80% cases are having this high okay so generally people never discuss about this all all people so that can also create this heel pain early morning so is it a sign that we shouldn't ignore it.
>> So actually why early morning?
>> So common complaint like any so early morning heel pain and also whenever they're sitting for a long time once again like when you're sleeping nobody holds them.
So already tight in a very shortened position. So suddenly they'll stretch out easily.
>> Okay. So what I usually advise them is along with the other medication on all these things. So before taking the first step from sitting in first okay already and gradually gradual pain okay that is the reason for this morning heel pain morning heel pain >> okay can footwear alone cause chronic heel pain >> I cannot say footwear alone but they actually play a major role So high they can easily aggravate the situation on matter.
>> So there are some footwear which can you know aggravate the situation. So footwear has a role but I can't say it's 100%. But you can say like 30 40% pain.
So actually so patic something too much focus.
Okay. So every patient will come.
So basically it's like so excit is creating the heels but heels is not creating plant.
So everybody will come.
So actually heals you're not getting pain. Pain is because of plant okay that will be healing. Heal means like pain will go off bone structure but nothing to worry about that. Mhm. If somebody has that issue So that can be seen. Okay.
So those people have cosmetic issues.
>> Okay. So whether we should do something based on cosmetic issues based on condition when should a patient be almost like you know conscious we have to take advice from the doctor.
>> So heel pain to consult early because that has very bad consequences if completely neglected.
>> Plant heel pain is very commonly seen.
So three weeks I think you can wait doing some stretches.
So it's okay then they have to consult and oil and how will it really help them? See actually patient may feel better but okay flat feet what is that and flat feet so flat important flat feet So two types of elements flat feet high. So flat feet it's all about support. So we had to support the arch more about cushioning and low distribution. So flat flimsy footware is not at all good for they want stability. They want support people but gradually gradually that will lead to more damage feel.
Okay.
Okay.
Then that is a good flat. Okay.
Okay.
So like Custom insults are the best patal at least.
Okay.
So basically there's no support, no structure in that. Okay. Like coming to mainly flat feet.
midoot break.
So every step they're taking this flat foot is collapsing more and more. So for them it's flat.
Okay.
>> Normal people they can wear on and off but regular uses because there's no support in that you're simply using for the so that's why these flipflops are not long. Okay. So flat feet.
So general population we have some parameters but generally some so flat feet in the and so like nearly 95% they have flexible flat okay mostly insole body will try to elevate pain start from cal region then it goes to actual flat foot region. So that means they have some symptoms related to flat feet and it's like early warning that something should be done for that.
Can we take them to like you know consult a doctor advisible they have to be taken care progress it can collapse more at one point it may lead to a surgery also okay to consult so that we can properly guide them regarding support or else insults excil we have to intervene very early mostly surgically issue.
So most of the collapse we can have a good outcome. Okay. So when should parents worry about flat feet in children? So flat feet and complaint is too bad. So consultation up to 14 years.
Okay. So before 14 years if you start insoles for people who are having bad flat feet or symptomatic so it'll be better than m so those cases we can >> so can flat feet in adults lead to knee hip and back pain is like a foundation so found okay So some patience flat feet can lead to because of alignment.
>> Mhm.
>> So are insoles and orthotic really effective or overused? Okay. So if you properly check the alignment and give specific custom orthotics they having very good results general person without pains I can't say but paint will be able like >> so what is orthotics actually >> so orthotics like any Monkeys replacement.
Okay. So, generally many people ignore ankle sprains. Uh when does it become more dangerous?
very commonly. So this is the most common problem.
So ankle ligamental all most of them will have recurrent episodes. Okay.
So every step he's taking every time it's tilting that creates repeated issues. So so any weeks or any days they have to consult a doctor. So okay regarding ankle treatment.
So rest.
Okay. So first at least four days.
Okay. They should start physio.
So gradual loading, gradual and guided loading chest they have very good results when compared to complete rest.
Okay. So what is the correct first state for ankle injury?
So ankle first of all first of all rest iceack elevation there's something wrong. Okay. So, usually they can start walking something better to consult meaning mostly rest after 2 days can slowly start walking but if pain is severe then you have to consult.
>> Okay. So can improper rehab lead to lifelong instability.
So ankle ligament so healing.
So unless mostly okayhment connected ankle very important. Okay. So, okay. Soal diabetic pat.
So diabetic complete different concept isue problem.
So obviously they are the musles.
So okay.
Okay.
So people okay sensation So what are the early warning signs of a diabetic foot problem? So actually so first of all diabetic sugar next foot any swelling >> any deformity >> and uh any redness you have to meet a doctor normal people but different So they will have very good results that can lead to very bad issues. So what causes non-healing foot ulcers? So okay.
Okayur pressure. So diabetic.
Thank you for your insight sir. Thank you so much.
