The Department of Justice is investigating E. Jean Carroll for perjury during her 2022 deposition, despite two civil juries finding Donald Trump liable for sexual abuse and a trial judge explicitly stating that Trump's conduct meets the legal definition of rape; this case exemplifies how the criminal justice system can be weaponized by powerful individuals to pursue their victims, raising serious concerns about the abuse of prosecutorial power for political retribution.

DOJ Is Targeting Trump's Rape Victim E. Jean Carroll While the Epstein Files Sit UntouchedAjouté :
Hey everybody, it's Hawk. Uh, it's about 8:30 in the morning on Thursday, May 28th. A lot of news overnight, so I'm recording a little early this morning.
Welcome back to my channel. Thank you for taking the time and for watching.
Please click like, leave a comment, and subscribe to my channel. If you would do so, I'd very, very much appreciate that.
So, a little bit of a news recap. We're going to talk about the DOJ is now investigating Eene Carol. This is literally a rapist using the criminal justice system to investigate his victim. That's just what that it's just what this is. Trump voters specifically are turning dramatically against Donald Trump on the issue of inflation. Then there a company that Donald Trump Jr. is involved in that got a $600 million plus contract from the government a few months ago. Uh it turns out the White House intervened directly in that process and the White House is responsible for that company that Don Jr. is associated with for getting that loan. So, but please tell me more about Hunter Biden and Berisma. Lastly, Jill, we're going to see video of this.
Jill Biden in an interview said that during the debate between Donald Trump and her husband Joe Biden, uh that she thought Joe Biden was having a stroke.
uh despite the fact that after that debate, for a month after that debate, all of the people closest to Joe Biden, including Jill Biden, his wife, uh were demanding that he be permitted to stay in the race. So, it's going to be a fun news recap. Let's start with uh the Eugene Carol story. So, they are investigating her. The DOJ purportedly is investigating her for perjury during a deposition that she gave in 2022 in which she testified that no outside people or entities were providing her with funding for her lawsuit against Donald Trump. I think this was her second lawsuit. She there were two lawsuits. She got judgments of 5 million and $83 million uh which have been held up by appellet courts. But, you know, Donald Trump loves his revenge and Donald Trump hates women. Uh, so let's watch a couple of legal experts talk about this particular lawsuit and its exceedingly disgusting nature.
>> Paula, this is exclusive reporting. What are sources telling you about this? So sources tell our colleagues Caris Ganell, Hener, Benowitz, and I that the theory of this case is that she may have perjured herself during her two civil cases against President Trump. Now, they're specifically looking at a 2022 deposition where Carol said that she had not received any outside funding, but her lawyer subsequently informed the court that she had received outside funding from billionaire Reed Hoffman.
Eugene Carol might not have been aware of that.
So, she may have been testifying truthfully. She may not have been aware of arrangements being made between her attorneys and outside people. We don't know yet.
>> Help with legal legal fees and expenses.
Now, ahead of the trial, the judge said that he didn't see any problem with her credibility and actually blocked Trump lawyers from asking uh about this funding. Now, as we understand, this is >> so that's important. this issue has already been ruled on by the trial judge. Uh and this this case has already been both of these judgments have already been appealed at least once.
They both survived the first round of appeal. Uh I don't know off the top of my head whether they made it up to uh the well they haven't made it up to the Supreme Court yet.
>> Still in the early st >> but but Trump has asked the Supreme Court to intervene in these cases >> ages. It's unclear uh though if anything will actually come of this investigation because this has to be seen of course in the context of this larger effort to use the Justice Department to pursue President Trump's political adversaries and that's been met with mixed results.
>> Let's play some of what President Trump has said about Eugene Carol over the years. Here it is.
>> I don't even know who this woman is. I have no idea who she is. I haven't watched this whole clip. I hope they play the part from Donald Trump's own deposition where he testified in his deposition that Eugene Carol said it was sexy to be raped and that she enjoyed it.
Where she came from, this is another scam. It's a political witch hunt. This is all political stuff, including the women stuff. The Burgdolf Goodman. I meet a woman outside of Burgdorf Goodman. I took her upstairs to a changing booth. It was all made up. And you know who's financing it? Reed Hoffman, their number one political donor. Reed Hoffman. Big >> Eugene. Carol told two of her close friends that this had happened immediately after it happened. She told two of her friends that it happened at the time.
>> Fat slob. It's a madeup fabricated story by somebody I think initially just looking to promote a book. I should be suing her for defamation, >> but you know, he owes her $88 million, which he had to deposit with the court uh in order to file the appeal. So, his $88 million is on deposit with the New York federal court earning interest every single day. Next, I want to hear from Norm Eisen. He you guys will recognize him when you see him. He is he's an ethics attorney, you know, and he he was part he was one of the one of the one of the prosecutors in at least one of Donald Trump's impeachment trials. Excellent. Excellent. excellent attorney >> of Donald Trump utilizing the most fearsome power of our president, the investigation and possible prosecution uh of individuals who he perceives to be his adversaries.
Uh first it was Tish James, that case was thrown out, then Jim Comey, that case was thrown out. He's going after Comey again. that case is going to meet the same fate. This is garbage and it is alarming because it is a classic sign of authoritarians.
Dictators would blush at Donald Trump's abuse of his criminal powers. U and uh it's not American.
>> David, do you think an investigation like this is what the DOJ should be focused on?
>> But I want to make a critical point here. Yeah, Trump is going after James Comey. He went after Leticia James. They investigated him. He's going after the guy with the wall with the walrus mustache, John Bolton, who said mean things about Donald Trump. This is so much more than just a retribution prosecution. This is a an adjudicated rapist using the Department of Justice to criminally investigate and potentially prosecute his victim who has already gone through two civil trials with Donald Trump. And at least one of those juries in one of those trials found Donald Trump liable for sexual abuse after hearing witness testimony from Eugene Carol. And the judge in that case described Donald Trump's conduct.
and he put this in writing in in in a in a response to a post-trial motion from Donald Trump's attorneys. Dumb move for them to file that motion. Uh in responding to that motion, the judge stated that Donald Trump's conduct meets the definition of rape. So this is a rapist criminally investigating his victim. This is so far beyond him going after Jim Comey or him going after Leticia James. I mean, this is so just depraved and disgusting.
And but this news broke last night, a Wednesday evening, so there's been a lot of overnight reaction. Gavin Newsome said Donald Trump is sick. Adam Schiff called this investigation a disgusting insult to victims everywhere. And bear in mind, this is a Department of Justice and FBI and president who are no longer investigating anything or anyone in the Epstein files. They have not brought a single prosecution of anybody in the Epstein files since those 3 million pages were released earlier this year.
There are no active investigations.
There are no active prosecutions for anybody in the Epstein files, but Donald Trump is criminally investigating a woman that he raped. Cool. Sam Stein from the Bullwork said if there was institutional credibility left to burn, this would do the trick. But I can hardly call this a surprise at this point. Uh Tim Miller from the Bullwork said, "A truly despicable, corrupt, unamerican, rapist, wannabe, authoritarian man is running this country and everyone enabling him should be ashamed." George Conway chimed in, "Dear Donald Trump, you are an you are an adjudicated digital rapist." Digital meaning fingers. Nothing can change that because it's a fact. And the evidence was not contested because you were too scared to testify. That's true. Feel free to come after me, too. Best George.
P.S. [ __ ] you. I shouldn't laugh, but George Conway is good at he he's he's good at that Twitter stuff. Just when you think they can't go lower, they scrape the bottom of the septic tank.
Chank Weaguer. Now Trump is using the DOJ to go after the woman he sexually assaulted, Eene Carol, because he wasn't enough of a douchebag to her. There is no end to his spite and bitterness. No one has ever weaponized the Department of Justice this much before, breaking every irony record. and the reactions go on from there. It's just so absolutely disgusting in every way, shape, and form. CNN chief data analyst Harry Enon has some very bad news for Donald Trump when it comes to his own voters. Uh, and I believe their feelings on inflation and the Trump economy.
>> Three month happy anniversary, three-month anniversary of the US war on Iran. So, how have views of the president changed on inflation over that time?
>> You know, Donald Trump has been struggling on inflation basically for well over a year now. It was of course what got him reelected back in 2024. The fact that Americans dislike Joe Biden's handling of inflation, but the Iran war has taken it to a whole new historic level. I want you to just take a look here. Okay, Trump's not approval on inflation. Pre the Iran war, according to Fox News polling, he was 30 points underwater. Look at this drop over just three months time. 52 points underwater.
I went back through the history books.
There's no president before Trump who ever had a net negative inflation rating of at least 50 points underwater. And now Trump is doing it in the Fox News pollus 52. And I've seen it in a number of polls.
>> So that's Fox News poll. He's pulling worse than Jimmy Carter. He's pulling worse than Joe Biden. He's pulling worse than George W. Bush >> as well. And this decline matches it has taken Trump from low levels to historically low levels in just 3 months time. You rarely see this type of movement. But the Iran war has hit Americans wallets and they are taking out on the president of the United States.
>> That's the part of it that that I just think is is incredibly unusual. 20 point drop in three months. Just three months time.
>> All right. Among whom? Among whom? This >> Well, what's happened in the last three months? Everybody's gas prices have gone up 60%.
>> This is where it gets even more >> including Trump voters.
>> Interesting because just take a look here. Groups that shifted on inflation.
Okay, Trump sent approval on inflation by your 2024 vote. Look at this. Harris voters have stayed pretty constant. They don't they don't like Donald Trump very much at all. It went from minus - 92 to - 94. But look at Trump voters. This is where the decline is coming from. Trump voters have turned on Trump when it comes to inflation. Pre-war he was at plus 37 points on the net approval rating on inflation. Look at this now.
Trump voters, he has a negative net approval rating on inflation among Trump voters. We are talking over 40. That's a 41 point swing, man. That is a 41 point swing among Trump voters just in the last 3 months. And yeah, CNN is trying to make Harry Anton their version of Steve Cornaki from MSNBC. His energy levels a little bit too much for me, but he's good with the data. Why does this matter? Why do polling numbers like this matter going into the midterms? Because I just read a little article about this yesterday. It's like Donald Trump's approach to the midterms is that Republican candidates will be more successful in the midterms if they are just bonded to Donald Trump instead of distancing himself from Republican candidates so that they might have a chance and allowing them to campaign by distancing themselves from Donald Trump.
I mean, his his approval numbers across the board are just underwater and in the toilet. That's a 41 point swing to the negative among Trump voters just in the last 3 months on the issue of inflation.
And that one effect of that, well, two effects of that. Every Republican who's running for office this year is going to constantly be asked about Donald Trump's policies and the negative economic impacts they're having on on voters.
first. Second, when when the president in office is polling that badly and you're heading into the midterms, whatever party that president belongs to, those horrific polling numbers, it crushes voter enthusiasm for that party.
Voter enthusiasm for Republican voters right now is in the gutter. Voter enthusiasm numbers for Democrats are through the roof. Democrats can't wait to get to the polls and vote against every single Republican, which is not to say that they're super excited about voting for every Democrat that's running. As bad, listen to this, as bad as Donald Trump's polling numbers are right now, his approval ratings in the mid to upper 7 or excuse me, the mid to upper 30s, give or take. What entity has approval rating numbers that are dramatically less than Donald Trump's?
The Democratic Party, the approval rating polling for the Democratic Party in general is in the low to mid20s, 10 to 15 points less than Donald Trump. You know, got to cut ties with Apac, guys.
Just telling you. The White House directly intervened to win a $620 million loan package for a company uh that Donald Trump Jr. is a part of and has a financial interest in. Uh, when the Pentagon announced a $620 million loan last year to a small North Carolina startup linked to Donald Trump Jr., I think the company's name was Vulcan Elements, defense officials and the company itself tried to tamp down suspicions of cronyism, saying nobody pulled any strings for this company to get this loan of $620 million. The president's eldest son, Don Jr., through a spokesperson said that he wasn't involved at all in this loan. The Pentagon said Trump Jr. played no role in the record setting deal and the startup's founder told reporters that his company Vulcan Elements received no political favoritism at all. ProPublica, God, I love ProPublica. They did a bunch of interviews and Defense Department records show that the request to loan hundreds of millions of dollars to the firm linked to Donald Trump Jr. was made directly by the White House. Trump adviser, senior adviser, economic adviser, Peter Navaro made the request of the Pentagon to give this loan to Vulcan Elements knowing full well that it was a Don Jr. company. One person with knowledge said the call came from the White House and the call said, "We have to get this done. We have to get this loan approved for Donald Trump Jr.'s company." And they did. And that's just one deal. Don Jr. and Eric are starting a drone company. So, they're going to get defense contracts for that.
It's just a it's just grift upon grift upon grift upon grift, man. And you know, but but Hunter Biden, Hunter Biden, Hunter Biden, Hunter Biden.
Anyway, let's listen to Jill Biden talk about the 2024 debate between her husband and Donald Trump.
>> A stunning admission from Jill Biden about her husband's debate performance.
Take a listen.
Were you horrified as you saw it unfold?
>> I wasn't horrified. I was frightened because I had never ever seen Joe like that before or since.
>> Never.
>> Or since?
>> Yes. Or since?
>> Never seen him like that.
>> Never. No.
>> What happened?
>> I don't know what happened. I mean, when I as I watched it, I thought, "Oh my god, he's having a stroke." and it scared me to death.
>> That interview comes just weeks before the release of the former first lady's new memoir, and it's the first time that we've heard her express any concern about that debate that ultimately ended Joe Biden's 2024 campaign. But that stands in stark contrast to what Jill Biden had to say just moments after the debate.
>> Joe, you did such a great job. You answered every question. YOU KNEW ALL THE FACTS.
We beat Medicare.
>> And let ME ASK THE CROWD, WHAT DID TRUMP DO?
>> Even Joe Biden seems a little amused.
>> Look at the cringe around that table, man. Look at the cringe around that table >> by that that clip. Jamal, okay. Your instant reaction to to the Joe Biden.
You know, we talked about this a little bit in the last segment. When you lie to people right to their face, they have a tendency to not trust you. And you know, a lot of people knew something was wrong with Joe Biden. I went to a dinner in Detroit in AACP dinner. He was the guest speaker. His speech was great, but seeing him just make the walk to the stage, I was concerned. I was like, "Hey, this dude doesn't look right."
I mean, it's just a reminder that um Joe Biden and everybody around Joe Biden during that period of time, they just lied to us every single [ __ ] day about his condition. They lied to us every single day for a year, a year and a half, and here we are. Ego and hubris uh are things that are not reserved only for the Republican party. Anyway, thanks for watching. I'm Hawk. Jesus Christ.
Another day, man. Please click like, leave a comment, and uh subscribe to my channel. It is Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. West Coast time. The weekend is almost here again already somehow.
Please have fun and please be safe this weekend. I'll see you guys soon. Thanks again.
