Study finds rise in children’s mental health concerns at doctor visits

Researchers in Boston found between 2014 and 2023, there was a 4% rise in children being diagnosed with a mental health issue during their routine visits. Most alarming, they say there's been a 300% increase in doctors visits related to anxiety.

[00:00:37]That's according to a study published in JAMA that found women who took high-dose vitamin D3 while pregnant had children who scored higher on memory and cognition test at the age of 10. But researchers stress any supplements taken during pregnancy should be discussed with a doctor first.

Researchers say it's important teens be able to have those talks with their doctor to ask questions that they may be embarrassed to discuss in front of their parents.
