SIMS 3 // Renovating LOST WILLOW PARK in RIVERVIEW

[00:00:00]Bonjour. So, we are back in River View for another makeover.

[00:00:05]And this might be the last one. Oh, maybe second to last in Riverview because I started another one, but it's a residential lot. And I think this one is going to come out first. So, it's a community lot. And I'm also going to pin on the screen the playlist with all the makeovers, let's build, and planning review. everything about the project of renovating Riverview and yeah, well, let's uh check it out in editton mode. So, it's Lost Willow Park.

[00:00:41]It's a fishing spot. I'm going to keep it as it and it's on Lost Willow Road.

[00:00:48]And that stretch of road actually I've um changed it in uh in my edit version of Riverview. I removed it and instead it's a trail leading up to that lot and the size is 40 by 40. I've kept the same size for the lot. It is surrounded by even more trees and different types of trees there. And I've uh I've done it before for my French world that I did in Riverview.

[00:01:21]Uh but that was a long long time ago like at least 10 years ago and also it looked quite different afterwards because I once I unlocked create a world I couldn't open it the first couple of years and then I could when I once I could I moved it elsewhere in the world I changed the map even more. two. That's the back story for this one. And uh let's uh have a quick look at it uh for the before version. So it's lost willow part as there is no willow on it because I don't think I see any no willow trees.

[00:02:05]Um I might I'll see what I do. But yeah, uh I'll keep the bridge for sure because it's uh one of the main features of that uh of that lot. I might actually add a floor on there. And that are two ponds.

[00:02:25]Um Mhm. And I'm thinking of going with um swimming hole too. So maybe that part here which is a bit bigger. And here I can see some fish.

[00:02:38]And here I don't I like the rocky part over there to maybe add some more activities to do in the pond in the swimmable one. Yeah, I guess I'm going to do that. I suppose that's the bathroom there. And that I won't keep next to the swimming hall, though. Yeah, I I need the sewer to go elsewhere than in the swimming pool pond. So maybe move it to that area. Uh so that's the picnic area. And that's the covered part over there. I might make it bigger because the lot is quite big. It's 40 by 40. So might as well use the space to make it bigger. Maybe spots where they can actually pitch their tents uh if they want to. And maybe more over there and here bathroom and everything to eat. And also maybe a shed, a bigger shed so that they can take refuge there. I know there are no bears in the game, but u maybe they're not afraid of raccoons. Um so they can go there. So that's about it for the ideas for this slot. Uh let's get started on it. So for this lot, I started with what I consider I guess the main feature of of the lot, which is well the the the part that stands out the most when you first have a look at the lot. That would be the bridge. And I put it on foundation because I add the option. to what I mean is that uh there is another pathway leading to the lot and that other pathway is going to be the other trail that is going to be the main entrance because when you put um that the bridge when it's on foundation the the Sims now not going to route there autonomously.

[00:04:50]So, they're going to find a more direct way to get to the closest door when they first arrive on the lot. And so, they're going to consider the other uh pathway.

[00:05:01]And I didn't want them to cross the the pond to get well the swimming pool to get to the other side of the what way uh of the bridge. um that I was happy that that was another another way to get on the lot and they wouldn't do some foolish things like that. They might still they might. So then the it's on foundation also because uh I wanted to be able to use the terrain under it for it to be more malleable and have some water go under the bridge. So that was one of other reasons why I wanted the bridge to be on foundation. Another one is that I already made over a similar bridge in on residential lots and it's not on foundation because I wanted the tractor path to be the tractor to be able to go through that bridge. So, so here was the opportunity to have it on foundation and I took it. So, that's for the bridge. I'm going to go back to it a bit later. It's not done. And then the main well, the biggest pond I turned into swimming hall, so it's an outdoor pool basically. And for this one, I already knew I wanted to have a few games. There are a few activities to do for them to do. And the slide was a something I really wanted to have that.

[00:06:50]And the waterfall, the pool waterfall waterfall with um the rocks that are piled on top of each other. So it looks as something that could be in a a natural pool. So I tried to disguise them a bit more um with the the rock paint and rocks uh under the the slide.

[00:07:16]And yeah, that's uh an area I really wanted to have that in that world too because it's a more rustic world. And who I was thinking that seems that like to go camping or on a fishing trip could also like to take a dip. So it is accessible even though I've used constraint floor elevation for to adjust the the edges of the of the pool so that it looks more like a pond and not like a pool. But I've kept a few areas that look pretty much like a pool.

[00:07:59]I didn't I I put some lily pads there, but I didn't want to put too many to to have it different uh to the the fishing hole, which is on the other side of the of the bridge. And uh yeah, I wanted to be also to uh that just the Sims uh would be happy to go swimming in that pond. And I don't know if there are too many if there is too much vegetation.

[00:08:31]Maybe they wouldn't be I I I'm don't like to go underwater. I'm um I'm hydrophobic.

[00:08:41]Uh I yeah I I imagine that the clearest is the water, the easier it is to to get in into in in it and be scared that there are some fish there that would I don't know. I I don't feel great talking about [laughter] that actually. So I'm going to stop there. So here uh I think I removed a few lily pads. Uh there were a bit too many in the in the swimming hole, but then I just thinking uh so I did a bit more like the the fishing hole, but it was already there. I just wanted some sort of a uh like a a beach maybe where you could fish from. Uh something more uh that was the terrain where the terrain would be uh flat enough for them to be standing and um fish [snorts] from that. But pretty sure when I play tested it, they they went the on the other side and found a spot I I don't really worked on and they fished from there. So yeah, seems right. So then for the swimming swimmable pond, um I also did a sort of a beach where now two launch chairs. I think they are they came with the lot. Pretty sure. And also I did a diving board. Everything works.

[00:10:19]I've play tested the lot, but not thoroughly here. As usual, I didn't really have the time to to do that. And I'm pretty sure I'm going to adjust even more things. Maybe some patterns. I've put a a carpets uh in the gazebo.

[00:10:37]And I wasn't sure when I was doing the end tour for this one. I was I was hesitating actually. I was thinking I might change it already, but I had exported the lot and I don't really have time to go back to it. maybe for the next version. So, the gaz where the bathroom is uh right now, but I'm going to remove that, have it in the shed in the picnic area, and instead here trying to keep the same size for the building.

[00:11:11]So, I've tried to keep the there were three structures on the lot. I've tried to keep those three structures there.

[00:11:20]It's just that uh the the covered area for the picnic uh corner is going to be way bigger. It's going to be a shed. Um but uh the idea was to have something that looked similar even if it's a makeover that's that it looks like a makeover and not a totally different lot. So that's why I really wanted to keep the structure and um the the location of each structure and also the the basic uh shape [sighs and gasps] uh of the of the areas. So for instance the picnic area it's way bigger because the lot is quite big and it's already lost in the middle of the trees. So, we really wanted to um take advantage of the size of the lot, but uh so that's why the picnic area is bigger, but uh I haven't built another building on the lot because there were already three buildings. So, the the running parts are outdoor ones and actually there is only one door.

[00:12:37]Yeah, there's only one door on the lot, so it's to the bathroom, which is going to be in the shed. We'll see that a bit later. But, uh, what I've also added on the lot that wasn't there is a widow tree, I've put just the one and it's near the the waterfall. And because of the name of of the lot, so maybe it's the last remaining one. Um, that's why it's called Lost Willow Park.

[00:13:08]Or I might remove it. But I I like the having the that tree there. I think it goes with the the pond there. So I don't know. I mean, it's my second to last makeover. And actually, it's the last one I started. And so I'm uh I know I I want to be done before this summer hopefully for for the whole u riverview project but I know there are some things I'm going to tweak some somewhat and uh that will be for next version of the lot for the the release of the world I guess. Uh, I'm saying that, but I'm um approaching the the part I I like the least in uh in when you share worlds or lots that have to to play test everything, be sure that everything is list the the objects uh needed and be sure that everything works uh great and I'd rather be playing to be to be truthful, but um I'll do that. I'll do that. Uh, it's just a step that it's the step I like the least. So, I don't I don't want to be there yet. Just yet.

[00:14:26]And I'll I'll try and and and take some time also to to play at the same time so that I don't get bored and [clears throat] yeah, I'll I'll I'll deal with it. Uh but yeah, uh another thing on that talking about objects, uh there is that there were two objects, items on the lot that came with Riverview, but depending on how how you install the world, they might not appear. And I've removed one. It's the pile of logs. So, the logs that are stacked uh one on top of the other on the others. And uh the other one I've removed, it's um a tree stump.

[00:15:17]in it's almost an after thought. Uh I actually left it on the side of the lot.

[00:15:24]So if it doesn't appear, I don't think it's a a big deal. I mean, it can be replaced by something else when you load the game. Um it's what happens when I load Riverview for the first time. And I have it installed uh through the launcher. So that's what I I I I do with my uh the world I've I've bought on the or for review. It's free um in the in the uh how is it called? in the store in the in the store and I've uh yeah, I've installed them through the launcher and even then the overalls for the Sims, they don't appear. They they wearing something else when I I load the game for the first time. So, that's a it's a weird weird things like that that can happen. So anyway, uh where are we at? At the campground, so I wasn't sure I was going to do that, but I put the the tents.

[00:16:32]There is a mud where the the tents are already um u pitched up and I'll I'll try to remember and put it in the description box below the video. And I think they're going to appear if you don't have the mod. They hopefully they're still there on the on the lot, but uh maybe in the in their bag. So, rolled up in the bag.

[00:17:00]Uh maybe at the same spot and maybe with the uh customized eyes as as I left them, but it's easy to do. It's just a uh I think it's um Oh, the texture. I'm I'm looking for the word. It is the uh plastic one, plastic looking one. So that they look a bit more modern than than the their initial appearance and shape might make them um look like. And uh and there is also the ah I don't know if it's a bonfire and the the roasting thingy uh where uh was already there but I have customized it a bit. I changed the chair so that it would look like camping once well once you could take to maybe foldable ones you could take to camping. And there is also a playground area with uh two swings. Uh try to hide them inside tree trunks so that they would uh appear as if they are hanging from the trees. And uh there is a seesaw and the nup there. There are also a few more activities in the picnic area and in the gazebo. It's mostly for toddlers if they're on site. So that way they have a dedicated area and also it's enclosed. They cannot uh um step outside of it because there is a a step to to get to the gazebo. So I feel more at ease knowing that they are kind of protected there and there is a body of water nearby. So I don't want them to be near that uh or I would be very very anxious. And um and then for uh the another activity I've put there is [clears throat] um oh um telescopes. So I've put three of them. So there is one in near the shed. Well, in the shed at the entrance of the the shed uh where I was thinking they could observe from there and not be disturbed nor disturb the white life.

[00:19:27]And then since there was nothing to do really uh uh on on the bridge, I put two over there uh too and thinking that it's toward the fishing hole and not toward the swimming one. too. I felt better with them aiming that way.

[00:21:22]more. I almost got cut off when I during the voice over. I had other things to to talk about, but I tried to cover as much as possible during the overview. The overview of the lot with the three buildings. Um, the willow tree is over there. The main entrance is this one actually now because they don't have to go up a step, walk down a step, and then get to the door. they are going to take that way because it is more direct to the door. I haven't talked really about the rooftop. I've changed it. I think I wanted something a tin roof but a colorful one. So, um that was the one I went with instead of the thatch roof I first selected. I thought this one went more with the idea I had of that clearing in the forest where they can camp and swim and fish. Fishing hole, swimming pool/swming pond, picnic area, camping corner with the playground. I'm going to zoom in on the different areas. So, let's go with the bridge and ponds. So there is a dive board, the slide and the waterfall, the sorrow beach there and then the bridge with two telescops and then the fishing hole. There are three spawners for the fish. Then over there there is a cherry tree, the mushrooms. I've put mushroom a bit everywhere. the campground area with swing sets and C.

[00:23:06]So N game. Then over there there is the gazeu with a toy chest and a teddy bear. In my game I've added that path, that trail here. I've tried to have it connected with the main part of the lot. And then on top of the hill there is the picnic area with a high chair for babies and toddlers.

[00:23:32]uh a game. Um there is the end farm picnic uh tables. They were already there. Two grills. There is a a sink here. I've put a hot beverage machine for winter. If it's freezing cold, might be great to have a hot drink. No NPC on that lot. No vendor. And another telescope. And then the bathroom is composed of two all-in-one bathrooms, a dresser and a sink. The first add shelf and a py. Okay, so I think I've talked about all the main things. So the the part that is from Riverview is that tree stump over there. Um, and that's going to be it. There is no store items except for this one. And um I'm not going to include it because I have it installed as a Sim 3 pack. So it's through the launcher. There also uh a couple of uh cutouts I've put there. I thought they were on theme. So that's going to be it for this makeover and this video. I'll see you in the next one.
