The system demonstrates a sophisticated yet fragile competence, mastering complex maneuvers while remaining ironically susceptible to basic environmental irregularities. It serves as a stark reminder that algorithmic pattern matching is still a long way from achieving the robust common sense required for true autonomy.

Tesla FSD vs. "The Worst Roads in North America"Added:
All right, welcome back to our Tesla.
Back with another FSD video. Today we are driving still driving with FSD version 14.3.2.
So, So, just above us actually is Nikola Tesla Boulevard. So, you can see the signs on the right.
Uh if we want to go up that, we can do that.
Uh but we're going to stay below it cuz this is our navigation for now.
So, the reason there's a Nikola Tesla Boulevard in Hamilton is uh if you haven't watched my last video where I kind of learned about that. But basically, Nikola Tesla was involved in getting AC current to Hamilton, which was one of the first cities in Canada to get alternative of current. Oh god.
So, that was a rough one and wasn't so much a pothole cuz the entire street was like that.
Uh it was kind of train tracks and I didn't really see it coming.
So, that was definitely a critical.
I noticed you went like when the car has a big bump, FSD will disengage.
Which is not good.
Because if you're not expecting it, like let's say you're in the in the middle of the turn and you hit a bump and FSD disengages, that's a problem.
Uh anyway, so hopefully no damage to my car cuz wow, that was intense.
So, going back, yeah. So, Nikola Tesla was involved in getting Hamilton alternating current, uh, which was one of the first major cities in Canada to get it. And this is going back to the 1800s.
1890, or something like that.
Uh, so anyways, we're just doing a quick drive today.
We are you know, in the east side of Hamilton, and we're just going to go up the mountain, which could, uh, make for some interesting There's lots of, you know, crazy turns and sharp turns, and, uh, I would say corkscrew, not corkscrew, uh, but, uh, hairpin turns. Yes.
So, we have a garbage bin on our right.
So, car's not reacting to that.
I've seen it happen where the car, like, just like that, the garbage bin was to the right there, but all of a sudden, like, either the wind picked it up and started moving it, and the car was really quick to avoid it.
And that's what I've noticed with this update with 14.3.2, is that the car has a much better reaction time.
Especially when it comes to like road debris and anything on the road.
That includes pedestrians as well.
So, with like road debris, like I said, uh, previous versions, the car would just slow down around that, cuz it needed the extra time to react to it.
But now, it's kind of driving smoothly, and if, you know, a last-second burst of wind goes through and starts blowing that garbage bin into the car, the car has enough time to react.
And same with pedestrians.
Pedestrian is, you know, walking near the sidewalk, previous versions, the car would kind of like be really hesitant, sometimes slam on the brakes, uh and just be jerky all around.
But now, unless that pedestrian is doing something actively going onto the road or actively stepping on the road or doing something like again, this person here, like the car in previous versions were like because that pedestrian was so close to the curb, the car would definitely have slowed down in previous versions.
And you can see this changing lanes very really confident and aggressive. I am in standard mode right now.
But there's no hesitation in terms of changing lanes.
So, because of that faster reaction time, where like the car is able to little be a little more confident, I guess you will.
And going back to that bump right off the bat there, like uh I didn't like obviously I've never I'm not journeying here, so I'm not used to that. So, obviously if you know, you've journeyed over that area before, you would know to expect that kind of like drop.
Uh but I've never been here, so like just looking at it didn't just look like a train tracks. It didn't look like you know, that much of a bump, but it was.
So, one problem I've had with the navigation aspect of it is Well, I'm not going to all the navigation areas, but just what I was experiencing with this is trying to set this route. When you pick the route, it gives you three different options, and I selected one, it would hold it, and then like within a few seconds, it would divert back cuz I think the one I picked was the slowest one.
But the other ones were the highway, and I want to avoid the highway.
So, short of going through settings and putting avoid highway, I just wanted to like, you know, hold the route that I chose.
And I'm noticing it doesn't do that, or it will you'll pick a route, and think you're on your merry way. If you're not paying attention, midway through your route, it'll change without I'm you.
And I know I have a setting I have it set where it'll reroute if it's going to save like 5 minutes or more or something like that.
But like most of the time that's not the case. It's just changing route cuz it wants to.
And that's fine. Even if it was because it was saving time, I still kind of want to get notified of it doing so. So maybe like a chime would be helpful.
So Tesla, if you're watching this, can we please have that?
Or even just have Grok say something.
Okay, so we're going to make a right turn shortly.
So I think we should be in probably the right lane, I would assume.
Unless both lanes are turning. Looks like both lanes are turning, so we don't need to be.
Uh Yeah, both lanes are good.
So we're basically going up the mountain here.
So if you're not familiar with Hamilton, Hamilton has basically two sections of the city.
One up the mountain and one down below the mountain.
And obviously nothing on the mountain cuz it's quite steep.
But if you want to have views of the city as well as Toronto on a clear day, definitely come down to Hamilton cuz you are in for a treat.
Now mind you, most of those views are of industrial cuz Hamilton is the steel city.
So right now I'm looking at a lot of steel mills.
And right now the football stadium, which currently is being played soccer.
And if you watch my last video which I just drove Uh check out that video cuz that was some interesting cuz I didn't realize there was a soccer game going on. So all the my navigation was set to the stadium not knowing that a soccer game was going on and all the adjacent roads were closed by police.
So definitely made for some interesting driving around.
So we are making that first hairpin turn.
So handling very well.
Lots of bumps though. Like I remember I was saying how like these are the types of bumps where like oh it could it disengage FSD for no reason and it's definitely not the time you want to be disengaging FSD.
Uh so yeah beautiful view coming up the mountain here.
Can't really see it but I swear it's there.
And then we're making another turn up here. Now we should be on our right.
I think.
Is it going to signal?
Please signal. Come on. You can do it.
There you go.
Oh.
So signal too late so now there's a whole bunch of cars and we have to wait for a car to let us in.
And cars aren't letting us in.
Okay good.
And we go back here.
Now a little error there on FSD part should have been in the left in the right lane much earlier on.
I'm glad it just didn't give up and went straight.
It did signal for for that turn and put itself in a good position to make that turn.
But again, should have been there much earlier so that that wasn't needed.
Okay, continuing on.
Uh making a left turn here.
It's quite busy today.
So lots of traffic.
So about 5 minutes left to our destination.
Now, I know I spoke in my last video about the Roadster 2.0 unveil.
That never happened.
And no one in my video even commented on that. And like I'm wondering, did I just imagine this thing? Did Was this not a thing that we were supposed to get the Roadster unveiled in April?
And then the other Tesla news is I'll see the Model S and X are being discontinued.
And Tesla made these limited edition Model S and X to the tune of $160,000 US.
And invited only a certain amount of people to buy them.
And then they made an event that was supposed to be last week.
So people, you know, were booking flights and booking hotels.
And then, I think like a two or three days before Tesla canceled the event.
Now, the reason that Tesla canceled the event is because Elon was invited by Trump to go to China along with uh Tim Cook and some other people.
So, that was most likely the reason this event got canceled.
And it got put back 1 week.
Now, I hope Tesla makes it right and kind of like reimburses these people for booking this trip.
Cuz that's a, you know, kick in the teeth if you had to book hotel and all that stuff and a flight and you can't really can't really cancel flights within that short notice.
So, I also don't feel bad for these people cuz if you're spending $160,000 on a car, you probably can afford a hotel and a trip flight.
But, still, not good on Tesla's part.
Anyways, a smooth driving here.
Now, what I wanted to do was I wanted to go to Albion Falls, which is a waterfall just near here.
However, every time I put in navigation, like I said earlier, it kept uh throwing me on the highway.
And yes, in retrospect, I probably should have just turned on the avoid highways thing and that would have been the easiest thing to do. But, I should navigate to the close thing here, which is a hockey arena.
But, if you're in Hamilton, definitely check out Albion Falls. It's a wonderful waterfall. Hamilton is, of course, the city of waterfalls.
So, we are continuing on.
Uh should be Yeah.
I don't know if there's an entrance off this uh side of it cuz we're at the back of the arena.
And the parking is on the other side. So, I don't know. Maybe there is a parking on this side. So, we'll see.
Uh so, back there is guy on truck working on it. He's getting into his truck. And I think this is one of the big one of my biggest pleasures, not pleasure, but things I'm I'm impressed with with this update is the pedestrians. It's just It was so annoying with like whenever there was like like anyone near the road, like car would just slam on the brakes and be hesitant. Uh so, I'm glad to see that's fixed.
And it just makes for a much smoother ride.
So, uh not next next side of lights or stop sign.
So, I am in a hurry or sorry, standard mode.
I haven't done a lot of testing with the speed profiles.
So, maybe that'll be in our next video in terms of seeing if they've been updated.
Like how fast they're going. So, like I was going to 46 in a 40, which is reasonable on standard.
So, perhaps my next video will be a little bit more testing and comparing the speed profiles.
Cuz I haven't done that on this update yet.
So, stay tuned for that.
Okay, so there's parking on this side of the street or this side of the arena.
Is there?
Oh, this is where the Hamilton Cardinals play.
Okay.
So, let's look for parking.
Yeah, center park, okay.
So, are we going to park?
Now, please don't park here.
No, it's not going to park here. Good.
So, at least we're not parking in the handicap spots again.
So, that's good.
So, it's kind of getting lost now.
We're out like there's plenty of So, I think what's happening is I don't know if you can see, but the pavement where the parking is is different. It's like this like uh little blocks.
Let's just go around these people here.
And obviously it looks very different.
And there's a bit of a grass.
So, this could be why the car is not registering parking spaces cuz it probably thinks this is probably doesn't look like a parking lot.
So, let's go back see if it's going to try again.
Okay, so yeah, we're going to go back again.
Now, especially on this side here, like the parking lots, sorry, the parking spaces look like it's on grass.
So, that could be why the car is having difficulty.
So, let's see what it does. If it doesn't find parking in this one, I'm going to take over and just park myself.
Okay, so it's turning here.
I'll wait for these people to go.
Okay, I don't think it's going to go.
So, what I'm going to do is uh navigation.
So, I can't I can't choose.
Just going to get all these people so there is I was going to wait for the parking icon to show up.
Oh.
Okay, so that's what I was saying. It's like if it's not recognizing it as parking, maybe that was the issue.
Uh but definitely did at some point. But there's obviously no lines to this.
But definitely recognized spots, which is unique.
So, anyways, while it does that, uh yeah, interesting ride today.
So, if you like this video, please give it a thumbs up. And also, don't forget to subscribe and hit that notification bell so you don't miss videos, which I release about every week or so. Tons of awesome content. Definitely, whenever there's a new FSD update, I'll be dropping videos. And like I said, my next FSD video will probably be testing the speed profiles. So, uh have a lookout for that. So, be sure to be subscribed and check out my merch store just below this video. You'll see all kinds of t-shirts. I do have my FSD collection. So, if you are a fan of FSD, check them out. I'm sure there's something that you like. And be sure to follow me on all my socials down here.
Anyways, thanks again for watching.
We'll see you next time. In the meantime, drive safe and drive electric.
