The creator masterfully frames a rare celestial coincidence as a profound privilege of our specific time and place in the universe. It is a compelling reminder that our perfect view of the cosmos is a fleeting gift of geometric serendipity.

Only Earth Has This… The 400x Eclipse Mystery | I Took a PICTUREHinzugefügt:
Hey folks, this is your cosmic ray. Have you ever thought about how the solar eclipse will be when you are outside the earth? So this is the first time astronauts that are sitting in the Orion capsule experiencing a solar eclipse when they are passing the far side of the moon. So they are here moon and the sun is behind them and the arrow is showing you moving from right here to the other side. The sun is passing behind the moon. That's what is happening there. But how does it look when you go to Mars? How does it look when you go to Jupiter? It's a very interesting thing. I'm going to show you something which is far more different experience than the solar eclipse that we experience here on the earth. Uh please make sure that you give me an early like and a subscribe. Thank you.
So let's talk about the 400x problem.
So the sun is 400 times larger than the moon.
Like when you look at the size of the sun versus the size of the moon, sun is 400 times bigger, larger than the moon.
But the sun is also 400 times further than the earth. So when you compare the distance between earth to the moon versus earth to the sun, earth to the sun is 400 times that distance.
So that makes it look like both sun and moon are on the same shape in the space for us.
It's a very much like a coincidence but it's real.
So during the total solar eclipse scenario, you're going to see this diamond ring and the full disc of the moon stays in front of the full disc of the sun and sun completely hides behind the moon. And you can see the atmosphere around the sun. It just a magnificient coincidence. An amazing way that 400x that I was telling you is playing out for us. Because sun is so far out there compared to where the moon for us is, which is the 400 times, it is showing a much smaller disc compared to the moon.
The reason why we don't see any eclipses from Mercury or Venus because neither of these planets have any moons. So if there is no moon, there is no eclipse for them. There is nothing to hide the sun from them. So if you are on Mercury or if you are on Venus, there is no solar eclipse for you. So Mars got two moons.
One is Phobos and the other one is Daimos.
Phobos. This is a bigger moon compared to the Damos.
Phobos is roughly 22 kilometers. So our marathon runners can run across this Phobos like in one marathon.
Daimos on the other hand is much smaller. It's only 12 kilometers.
So what happens when we are on Mars and if Phobos comes between the sun and the Mars let's say you are a Martian. Now you are looking at solar eclipse. So Phobos comes in front of you. How does it look?
So this is 2nd April 2022 and Martians are experiencing a solar eclipse.
Well, we don't know whether we have any Martians out there, but we have our Perseverance rover on the Mars and it is capturing this view as the Phobos is passing by which is one of the bigger moons passing by the sun.
So you are standing on the Mars and you are looking at sun and you are experiencing the solar eclipse.
What happens when you go to Jupiter? and try to see the solar eclipse. Jupiter got 55 plus moons and the moon number of moons are increasing every time we count. They are reaching close to 80 and but not every one of them were confirmed.
Now when you go and if you can go to Jupiter and stand on Jupiter which doesn't have any surface, it's a gas giant. But if you do wanted to look at the sun and the solar eclipse, there won't be much because it's like so small compared to insignificant in terms of how the solar eclipse is going to be. I mean depends on exactly where you are. Maybe if you are right there and if that is passing by, maybe you'll see a shadow like the way you are seeing on the pictures there. By the way, that picture was taken by me back in 2019 and it was one of my first Jupiter animations. I took bunch better pictures than these, but this one stood longer in terms of animation. So, I'm just showing this to you. So, Saturn got one of the largest number of moons as well. It's like 146 moons for the Saturn. It's a huge planet with majestic rings in front of Saturn.
There isn't anything that is going to stay. So that is one of the Saturn's moons on a ring floating like a small dot. I mean when you look at those tiny dots, those dots look like a small speck on the ring itself.
So this is another one of the famous pictures that we can see.
So if you stand on the Saturn and if you are looking at sun you might see some kind of a speck going I don't think there won't be any eclipse from a sun standpoint because of this it might give you a tiny bit of a dot there if you observe carefully and with all the equipment and gear with a with a human eye in the area like that it's almost nearly impossible. So I'm just showing you the view of the Neptune.
It's like up on the side like that's how it looks like. The rings are on the side. The Triton and the Proteus I believe there are two moons there. And if we look from Neptune towards the sun, it's going to look like that. Right? We are still seeing a bright sun from Neptune, but there won't be much. Let me zoom in here. Here is the view.
If I stop at treat, you are now having an eclipse at this moment. So you are very very difficult with the brightness of the sun. Even though I have treated there in front of it, there won't be much difference. I mean it has to stand exactly.
Yeah. I mean by the time it gets to those distances everything gets extremely small. And now we are talking Uranus.
And if I go to Uranus, you're going further away. And this is also tilted. Completely tilted. Uranus is now look at that. It has several moons here. 1 2 3 4 5 6. I don't know if there are other moons outside. It's completely tilted.
And let me see if I can see the moon.
Yeah, I mean the planet itself looks like a small moon. I don't think none of these moons can hold candle to the showing like an eclipse.
And Pluto I wanted to visit they demoted it. Poor thing. It's not no longer a planet.
So watch my planet 9 videos if you are interested to understand how Pluto is.
From here it's showing like sun very bright but sun looks like very very dim by the time it gets to the Pluto.
That's all I have for tonight. This is Cosmic Ray signing out for today. I hope you enjoyed the video. If you like this video, please give me a like, a hype, and uh subscribe to my channel.
