The films ends a dark comedy thriller combining crime, family emotion and humor rather than focusing only on action or suspense.
The film reveals that the identity of the actual killer is less important than than the family collective decision to hide their truth rather than sacrificing their child and parent choose to protect the family at any cost. The police officer remains suspicious but the family is not arrested on the screen.
The ending is initially ambiguous. They escape legal punishment from now. But they are left to live with constant fear, guilt and ponia. The central message is the ordinary people can cross moral boundaries when trying to protect their people they love and sometimes the emotional burden of the decisions becomes it own punishment.
As the investigation continues, the family lives be becomes more complicated. Their guilt affect their relationships and they begin living in the fear that the truth will come out.
