2 January 6th Officers File Lawsuit To Stop Trump's Anti-Weaponization Fund

[00:00:01]Officers who fought to defend the capital on January 6th now have another fight on their hands to stop the pardoned members of the riot from receiving part of a $1.7 billion anti-weaponization fund. There's there's no reason that the government should be giving these people money when so many of them pled guilty in a court of law and they had very fair trials. I was there. I testified in them. I was there at sentencing. There was no conspiracy.

[00:00:28]There was no political railroading. It's just that they committed crimes and they recorded themselves [music] doing these crimes. So then they face the consequences right up until Trump pardoned them.

[00:00:39]The fund is the result of a settlement between President Trump and [music] the IRS over Trump's claim that a government contractor leaked his tax returns. The president says the government should not be weaponized against the American people. The Biden administration was horrible in terms of what they've done to people is incredible.

[00:00:58]And we're getting we're reimbursing those people for their legal fees and for their costs and for anybody involved. Officer Daniel Hodges is one of two January 6th officers who filed a lawsuit to find the creation of the fund illegal. Giving these people money would just empower them, give them an incredible amount of resources to further carry out these threats. And since they're not afraid of any legal repercussions because Trump has already pardoned them and made it clear that he has their back no matter what and they have no ethical qualms about what they do. Your only barrier to further violence is resources, which they would have in a great abundance if they were given $1.7 million billion.
