Playoff ticket prices surge when teams advance deeper into the postseason, driven by increased demand from both local fans and traveling supporters of opposing teams; the Cleveland Cavaliers' playoff run against the New York Knicks caused ticket prices at Rocket Arena to rise to hundreds or thousands of dollars, with lower-level seats in the high hundreds and courtside seats reaching $16,000, as the Knicks' large fan base combined with cheaper Cleveland ticket prices attracted traveling fans, creating demand levels comparable to previous championship series.

Cleveland Cavaliers' playoff run causes tickets to rise in price for Cavs-Knicks Game 3 in Cleveland本站添加:
Fingers crossed, Chris. Thanks so much.
>> The Cavs playoff run, of course, bringing some major energy to downtown Cleveland and some major ticket prices as well. Fans will be praying a pretty penny to get into games three and four.
>> Amaya Ward is live downtown tonight with what's driving the demand. Hey Amaya.
>> Hi Christie. Hi Russ. Yeah, local ticket brokers say they're seeing a demand for tickets that they haven't seen in years.
And a big reason has to do with the New York Knicks fans also driving up ticket prices.
The deeper the Cavs go in the playoffs, the harder and more expensive it's becoming to get a seat inside Rocket Arena. Mark Clay with Amazing Tickets says lower level seats for this series are in the high hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars depending on location. And he says one major factor is who the Cavs are playing. Most of the dollars we're seeing is due to the opponent being the Knicks.
>> Cling says the Knicks's massive fan base combined with cheaper ticket prices in Cleveland compared to New York is bringing traveling fans to Rocket Arena.
He says the numbers they're seeing now are comparable to some Cavs finals runs during the LeBron era. prices that we're seeing for this round against the Knicks are almost on par with what the price was when we played Golden State in the finals.
>> And with prices climbing, some season ticket holders are choosing to sell rather than attend the games themselves.
Clling says when ticket values get this high, many fans start looking at the bigger financial picture. Somebody says, "Well, you know, do the four of us want to go to the game or do we want to take a oneweek vacation to paradise?" And you know, when you're talking dollars like this, that's the comparison. I mean, it's it's quite a bit of money.
>> Even after the Cavs' recent loss, Clling says demand didn't really slow down, something he calls unusual for the resale market. And depending on how this series plays out, he says prices may continue rising >> either way tonight. If the Cavs win, then you kind of capture some of that market back and the Knicks market won't go away.
>> So, here's a little bit of perspective for tonight's matchup at Madison Square Garden. Ticket prices on StubHub are all over the map. For just a pair of nosebleleeds, it's going to cost you about $700. And if you want to sit a few rows up, that's going to cost you about $105,000.
And that's not even courtside. But back here in Cleveland here in Rocket Arena, tickets are a little bit more accessible. A pair of nosebleleeds. It's going to run about $183.
And if you want to sit courtside, be prepared to pay around $16,000 as the Cavs are closing out the Eastern Conference Finals here in Cleveland.
Russ.
>> All right, then. No problem. We've got you. Thank you so much. You can watch game two tonight, by the way, on the big screen inside Rocket Arena. Doors open at 7 and tip off is at 8. And tickets tonight, they're $5.
