The parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-13) teaches that Christians must be spiritually prepared for Christ's return, as the timing is unknown to anyone. The lamp represents divine guidance through God's word, while oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit's presence and power. Each person must personally prepare for eternal life, as no one else can do it for them. This requires maintaining a connection with God through prayer, scripture, and community worship, and not becoming spiritually numb to God's ongoing mercy and guidance.

We'll have the first tribute by his first daughter, Antonia Richards.
Good afternoon.
So, we haven't we didn't have the years to get has done.
This is a pain I have to process. But as I say goodbye, I'm letting go of what could have been.
I forgive the times we lost and choose to remember your grace.
May you finally have to rest.
You you are valuing part of my life to my moment. I see pieces of myself in your smile and hear me out in my footsteps.
Our connection is undeniable.

I'm honoring you today because life and peace of mind always belongs to you.
Remembering the little moment we share together always my joy to my heart.
I will definitely be You become the first person to me. Happy Mother's Day.
I'm always the first person to wish me happy name for me. When I was a kid, I would always remember all those people was our beach moment you want to share as father and daughter.
Anybody who knows you knows you love cooking for sure and you one of the greatest chefs.
You taught me how to cook and that's the reason why I love cooking so much.
Anybody doesn't know, there's something wrong with you guys.
The story I was told of made me realize he was that when I got the news I didn't know what to feel to shine.
No one is looking even after a daddy will be showing this There's no way.
It's a blank short.
Good afternoon everyone.
God is good.
You know I learned that to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord.
God gives and he takes away.
In the book of Ecclesiastes, he say there's a time to mourn and there's a time to die.
There's a time to weep and there's a time to mourn.
There's a time to laugh. There's a time to dance. There's nothing wrong with weeping and mourning and dancing.
I had spent a great time with my brother.
You know I when I was a little boy we used to stay beside and he took me out in that special field that we have all the peace there and we he went out and he teach me to dance and my brother was the first one who taught me to dance and I really appreciate that. So all the dancing the saints have seen me dancing just because my brother taught me how to dance.
I have learned something from him and I've never seen no one did that what he had done. I see that he fried egg at the same time when I still attending to a bread. I don't know how you ask me. I don't know this. I mean, my brother was a mystery. I mean, I love a lot and you know for the past couple years me and was together we laugh a lot and you know I never knew I laugh so much. He made me laugh until I cry. I really going to miss him for his last for sure. I'm going to miss him. And I remember a couple um months ago when he was in the general hospital and I went to look for him and when I was there, he said to me said, "Brother, you know, I'm good with the Lord." And I went and pray for another gentleman. So when God keep me you know when he says that I felt so happy you know to know that tell me hey me and God we are good and my question is here you want God here that's my point yeah you want God are you good yeah the young ruler what he says after he said Jesus Christ all this and hey listen now you have one thing one your lap and he went away sly. But my question is are you God? I always listen to my my my family pastor Martin I always call him and he always nurture me in the word tell me how it's good to serve God and which is key and which is very important and I never forgot that I keep in my mind and I will always remember what he said to me and as we celebrate the life of my dear beloved brother Daniel I know he's with the Lord because he accept set him and when he was given by us he always go down in the world and that's key and that's important and I just want to thank that for the time and the opportunity I can speak about him right here right now so thank you again once more time thank you thank you thank you Next tribute is from a home family friend and um it's a recorded audio that I will be playing from my phone.
Good evening tomorrow.
My name is Warren, a close and dear friend of Daniel Hu aka Aisha, a brother who has emerged from another model.
Aisha and myself grew up together in the 80s.
Aisha was a dear friend, very close friend of mine.
He was of my family. I should always be at the house.
We spend one of them together.
Actually, was very neat, tidy, well put together, take care of himself.
I was very active.
I shall gloss these eyes on you. I shall always you know to do whatever you want to do. Always on time and always on time.
I love schools especially soccer.
We play the under 19 so competition at home.
I like juggling the ball until he lost the ball after it would be a big argument with him and the rest of the players and she would just lock it up.
I remember one night coming from Aisha said to me, "My slice of bread." I said to Aisha, "What do you want?"
He laughed. He said, "Then he said to me," I said to him, I just like it. Let's try it. I said, "Okay, let's do it." So, we push the bread and right there.
So, on our way down, we start on our way down. So, started working on you know getting the song to go down seven drinks that was really I mean I mean it was a fun night you know for the first time you know I remember we came up and when we were estimating he said we I said, "Okay, we got said to me, let's go into the bar."
And so I said, "All right, very very bright. We went down in the past all in the area walking around just to in the past that [ __ ] and joy." It was a I will never forget you know I had to hold you know he took me a lot because I always in life because if you remember what I said he always had to be blessed but he never let me tr you know was a was a dear brother you know and you know we we both work for each other. You know, it was a wonderful time going with Aisha.
I know everyone will missing his loved one, his kids, his siblings. I know he's going to miss it. Aisha, thank you for the journey I have with you. I appreciate it. I hope your soul rest in peace.
As a take to ask for government to continue praying for our youth, our nation, especially our young men of today.
To me, the three keep they lost. They lost the way and and I think we as in community should really come together and figure out something to help you with guidance because I believe if there is no use of today we don't have tomorrow and that's the reality of life is a fact of So I'm asking please for us to do something so get back on track.
>> Thank you for eating.
>> Thank you.
>> Yeah.
>> Our next shoot our next shoot is from a family friend.
also known as I'll be reading that for you.
Today I honor the life of a truly special friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, strength and kindness to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Some people come into our lives for a moment but leave footprints on our heart forever. And that is exactly the kind of person who works. You are more than a friend. You are a family in spirit, a safe place in difficult time and a beautiful soul who loves and support never went unnoticed.
Your smile put bright in the dark days.
Your words fought comfort and your heart carried so much compassion for others.
The memories we shared forever remains precious, treasures in our hearts. From the laughter to the quiet conversations, every moment was a reminder of how lucky I were to know you. Your kindness, strength, gener.
Although our words cannot can never fully express the pain of the pain of losing someone so dear, they also cannot really express the gratitude that having known you. Your life matters. Your love matters. And your impact will continue to live on in the heart of everyone you touch. You may no longer be here physically, but your spirit, your memories, and the love you gave will never fade. You will always be remembered with love, honor, and deep affection.
Rest peacefully, dear friend. You will forever be missed, forever cherished and forever los.
Thank you.
The next shoot is from Uncle Ashious, daughter, mother. The mother of Uncle Panch Panch with warmth, kindness, and a quiet strength that touched everyone around him.
He was a devoted father, sibling and friend to those who know him with laughter and memories we hold on to forever.
Thank you. Our next tribute is from Olive Thomas, a friend of Uncle A. We read by our friend Al.
I'm here for our funeral which took place last Thursday and able to be this one. Amen.
>> It's a tribute to Daniel for my sister.
Daniel and I shared a long history.
We were so much closer back when I lived in Green, but naturally our communication lesson after my breaking to the United States.
distance changed how often we spoke, but it never changed the fondness I held for him. When I look back on Daniel's life, what stands out so clearly to me was his beautiful spirit and his manners.
He was always so incredibly respectful, never failing to call me Miss Thomas.
He had a rare politeness always asking before he assumed anything.
He was a man of many talents and passions too. I will truly miss his incredible love for cooking and the wonderful dishes he took so much pride in.
And we especially miss listening to his ex exciting stories about his cruise ship adventures and his time spent out.
He truly loved the journey. Even now I can still picture him so vividly small, athletic, and full of life. walking up the street and climbing up the gap just to come and spend some time visiting with us.
I am so grateful that I got to speak to Daniel about 3 weeks before his passing.
But for the first time in a very long time, I could hear a strange uneasiness in his voice. He sounded so uneasy. And I asked him, Daniel, you feel okay?
He responded, "No, Miss Thomas, I am in a lot of pain."
Hearing him like that worried me. So I encouraged him to get to go get checked out by the doctor and promised him to fill him in on his promise.
I had no idea that this would be our very last conversation.
Days later, I tried to call him back to see how he was doing, but to no a few days prior to his funeral that I finally found out about his.
Since then, I have never been broken. It hurts deeply to know he is coming and to have found out the way I did. Daniel brought a special warmth into our lives and the silence he leaves behind is heaven. He will be missed more than words can see. May he rest in eternal peace with love and prayers all miss.
Thank you.
We know how nice one of us actually now is from 194 by the Uncle Aisha and I had a very special connection.
Uncle Aisha was a very bubbly person, very busy body. He's always on the go and he had the most in infectious smile. When you see unclea from a distance, the first thing you will see is his white teeth because unclea is quite dark in complexion.
3 days before unclea died, he played on my mama.
I took my tablet to call him out but something diverted me from calling him saying do not disturb me.
I went and called another uncle in Canada and we talked.
On the third day after Uncle Lazarus and I talked, I was on my way to an appointment and as I pulled my phone to make a phone call, I received a message from the last saying, "Gm thank you." This morning I sat and wrote this word of encouragement for my family but also I would like to share with each and everyone who's here today.
It was led by the Holy Spirit on Friday 18 2026.
Matthew 11:28.
Come to me all you are who labored and are heavily laid laden and I will give you rest.
Today many of our hearts is tired, heavy and broken.
So I would like to share this word. It is not here to condemn you. It is here to call you back. Many of you are caring more than people know. But you still smile and answer. still do what most done but in time their soul is running low due to the way Uncle Elisha died. It has been a shock to everyone entire family as it just happened and it happened so quickly that we did not knew that he was sick or I should say that he was sick to his death.
You do not have to pretend before God. You do not have to act strong in the presence of the one who already knows your weaknesses.
He saw your exception before you know how to make it. Today we bring this fall before God remembering his mercy and laid it down together with as we open our eyes today.
Maybe we didn't think much about it.
Maybe this morning came quickly and we stepped into it with a pot that was still heavy from yesterday. But before our feet touch the floor, mercy had already reached us. The breath in our lungs is not small.
The heartbeat in our chest is not small.
The light entering our rooms, the strength to rise again, the body that still carries us. The mind that has not completely broken.
The one more chance to turn back to God.
None of these are small.
You may not have everything you prayed for yet, but you are still here. And if God wakes you up this morning, it means he still has purpose for your life.
The scripture says in Lamentations 2:22:23, "Though the Lord just through the Lord, sorry, we are not consumed because his compassion fail not. We are new every morning.
Our lives is not being held together by love.
It is being held by mercy. Sometimes we wait for a miracle so long that we miss the miracle breathing inside our own chest. Sometime we ask God to show us his hand while his hand is already the reason we are still standing.
Before you ask for the next breakthrough, thank you that his mercy greet you >> because this is where your soul can become dangerously quiet.
Not rebellous on the outside, not rejecting God with loud words, but slowly forgetting.
We get used to mercy. We get used to grief. We get used to waking up every morning, eating, sleeping in peace, and having another chance to begin again. We get used to the voices of the people we love. We get used to the protection we cannot see and the battles God never allows us to reach.
What you call normal today may be very may be the very thing someone else is on their knees begging God for.
That's what Elijah were doing.
Psalms 1 3 and2 speaks like a command to soul. Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all his benefit. Bless the Lord, oh my soul.
and forget not. Do not let comfort make you blind. Do not let routine bury your praise. Let gratitude shatter the entitlement that has grown quietly in your heart. Let's keeping break spiritual numbness that made you overlook what God was using to keep you alive.
Elijah goal was to know Christ who he had a very personal relationship.
Uncle Elijah was devoted in praying and reading his Bible daily.
You will always find an open Bible by his bedside in his hand daily.
That means he would finally be eternally free from the limitations of the human body and the spiritual warfare of the world.
stepping straight into eternal joy and unlimited union with God. Rest in peace, Uncle I knew this thing will come eventually, but not so soon and neither in the way it happened.
I had things I wanted to speak to you about and you had plans of coming to visit in the UK as someone is here. But here we are today. Today, May 28th, Thursday, 2023, marks a profound milestone in our lives as we be physical to our beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, cousin, best friend, best family friend, and close friend to men.
born Danielson later changed his name to his father's name and true to Angela also known as Mara Miss Reington or Magna as all her children and grandchildren will call her and Donald aka Pushy and Daniel was born on October 27th 1964 in St. Patrick later he resided in Tibes he attended the river went school however he didn't stay or spend much of his time where he was born.
He later uh migrated to Tibo St. Andrew over the credit union where he settled for a while. I believe Miss Wellington wanted to be closer to his daddy, my grandfather, because she later had my mom for my grandfather.
Uncle Elisha spent most of his stone life in Tiboli in a little Janet house where his mom lived. And later they called it the ghetto boy's house as this is where Uncle Elisha happily enjoyed cooking which was a passion which was a passion he had with his friends.
And I can bet there were other things they all did in that house.
Uncle Aisha loved football and he loved dancing.
Uncle Elisha was more than a uncle to me and my siblings as he and his sister, my mom was very very close.
He was a uncle that he made loads of sacrifice for his two children and his sister.
He was very calm, peaceful, kind, loving and passionate. His eyes was bright and small and he had most the most infectious smile ever and beautiful white teeth. He was a very neat person always dressed well. His t-shirt or shirt were always in his trousers aka pants as we will say.
Uncle Aisha love plaid shirts.
was the fifth of eight siblings.
They are Nellis whom they all call my sister in Kasha.
Uncle Tony, Uncle Ket, Uncle Kennedy whom we all follow, my mother Verica, my uncle Laz who we all call Laza, my uncle, and my uncle Deborah. He also had three half sister and two brothers by his father. They are Joyce Marlin and Anna also Maria Jack to pass away as we lay our flagship today.
I thank God for the way that it happened.
Without questioning him, I gave him thanks because Uncle Elijah did not stop.
It happened so quick that it was the way that God wanted it to happen.
May your soul rest peacefully as you leave this earth today. Thank you.
>> Thank you.
We will now have um the alarm service and uh It's the opportunity now for all of families to have um the last as you come forward.
I will also now turn over.

>> Again, brothers and sisters, I welcome you to this church, Sacred Heart Parish Church here in Tiboli. And we have gathered together to celebrate the life of our brother Jonathan and to ask God to grant him joy mercies as he embark embarks on the second phase of his journey. And we ask God through our prayers to grant him eternal rest.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May the soul of donor and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
>> So just to make a few appeals so that our worship this afternoon will be smooth. If you have your phone on please put it on silence or switch it off completely so that this time we have a church with God. We will pray together and worship together.
Again this is Catholic church and in Catholic church we have our own traditions and I will appe that there are times we are going to kneel there are times we are going to sit there are times we are going to stand. So when the time for us to sit or stand let us do them together irrespective of your own how you do it in your own place. So here in the Catholic church, let us respect that so that we can all worship together and our prayer will find common expression in the sight of God. So once again, you are welcome. The animator will let us know when to sit, when to stand, when to kneel. So for now, I will ask you to bow your heads and pray in silence for our brother Don.
Let us pray.
Oh God, who have mercy for sinners and the happiness of their selves, give we pray to your servant, Don Patrick, for whom today we perform the fraternal offices of burial a share with your chosen ones in the blessedness.
So that on the day of resurrection free from the bonds of mortality, our brother may come before your face through our Lord Jesus Christ, your son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.
>> Amen.
>> Please be seated for the liturgy of the word.
And this afternoon our reading is taken from the book of wisdom chapter 4 7-15.

Then the gospel, the homonyy and the prayers of the faithful by another daughter, Danita Ash. I now invite Antonio Richard to do the reading.

The virtuous manifest.

He has been carried off so that the evil may not lift his honest for the evil trolls things into challenges and the world of design products is simple coming to perfection in so a life and achieve a long life. He sold it as a he has the soul being pleasing to God. He has taken him quickly from the wickedness around us. Yet people will come uncompromising.
It does not entertain me.

>> The Lord be with you.
>> And with your spirit.
>> A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
>> Glory to you.
>> Jesus spoke this parable to his disciples.
The kingdom of heaven will be like this.
10 bride maids took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.
Five of them were foolish and five were sensible.
The foolish ones did take lamps, but they brought no oil.
Whereas the sensible ones took flaxes of oil as well as their lamps.
The bridegroom was late and they grew drowsy and fell asleep.
But at midnight there was a cry. The bridegroom is here. Go out and meet him.
At this all those bride woke up and dreamed their lamps. And the foolish ones said to the sensible ones, "Give us some of your oil, our lamps are going out."
But they replied, "There may not be enough for us and for you. You had better go to those who said it and buy some for yourselves."
They had gone off to buy it when the bridegroom arrived. Those who were ready went in with him to the wedding hall and the door was closed. The other bridesmaid and arrived later.
Lord, Lord, they said, open the door for us. But he replied, I tell you mostly, I do not know you.
So stay awake because you do not know either the day or the hour.
This is the gospel of the Lord.
>> Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.
>> Please be seated.
So friends in Christ, brothers and sisters, again I welcome you.
We are here to pay our last respect to our brother Donald and to pray together to ask God to grant him a place in his heavenly kingdom. Wonderful thing to do.
So, but the the issue is this. How prepared are you assuming that God calls you today to come back to him? How prepared are you?
Are you ready if God calls you tonight?
You see, one of the things we as human persons, one of the things we ignore is what will happen at the end of our lives.
Most of the time we don't give thought to that. We just allow life to flow. It is good to allow life to flow. But it is very very good to ask yourself questions from time to time. If God knocks on my door today to come back to him, will I be ready? Will I be prepared? Will I be qualified?
And that is why I chose this reading we just had the gospel of Matthew chapter 25. I read from verse one to verse 13.
So Matthew chapter 25 from verse 1 to verse 13 and it is about spiritual preparedness.
How much prepared are you if Christ is to come today?
How much prepared are you to meet him?
Now for you to understand for you to understand this reading this gospel of Matthew chap 25 verse 1-3 I want to draw you back you have to go back a little bit and start reading from chapter 24 you will read from chapter 24 and then come up to chapter 25 for you to understand that passage very So let me help you a little bit to understand why this is very important.
Now if you read Matthew chapter 24 that is the chapter before the 25 we read. If you read Matthew chap 24 reading from verse 15 to verse 28 verse 15 to verse 28 Jesus spoke about the awful horror the things that will happen before the end of the of time before the end of the world. He spoke about things like the earthquake. He spoke about like things like uh vibrations, wars and so many things, so many horrible and awful things that will happen. That was what he spoke about in Matthew 24:15 to 28.
Then going further again in in the same Matthew 24. But now just 4:29 to 31 he talks about the second coming of the son of man where Jesus Christ will come the second time in glory.
Then in the same chapter 24 verse 36 to 44 and he spoke about when will this second coming of Jesus Christ when will this second coming of the son of man when will it take place?
This second coming of Jesus Christ when will it take place?
And the answer was so simple. No one knows, not even the angels in heaven, the con second coming of Jesus Christ is only a knowledge that is left for God and God alone.
And so it was this answer no one knows that that led us into the gospel into chapter 25 which we read today.
And so the question is if Christ is to come the second time and then when he will come nobody knows and then the question is in that case what must we do in to anticipate the second coming of Christ.
If nobody knows when he is coming and the time he is coming, what must we do in anticipation of the second coming of Christ? It was that question that led to Matthew the story that Jesus told them in Matthew 25 1-13. So what must we do in anticipation for the second coming of Christ? And Jesus tell them the story about preparedness.
the story about preparedness that the only thing you are going to do for the to be ready for the second coming of Christ is for you to be prepared.
And so he said it in this story of the 10 virgins.
Now the word 10 is a has a is a has a significance in the Bible. You know when we talk I can't give you all the numbers now but there are so many numbers that have significance numbers like seven that shows perfection numbers like 10 that shows completeness numbers like 40 and so on and so forth. All these numbers had significance and so he chose the number 10 to show completeness because when we are talking about the second coming of Christ we are talking about the the time of completing every everything and so he chose the 10 and he said 10 five we are preach five we are sensible very simple and then those ones as the story went these ones who sensible. They came to the wedding and they had their lamps and they had extra oil. And those ones that are not very sensible, as the scriptures say, foolish. They came with their lamp but they didn't come with oil. Now you might be asking why do they come with L and oil?
Now in the ancient Jewish tradition, marriages are done at night.
Marriages are done at night.
So and the marriages when we we move from the the marriage begins from the house of the woman and culminates in the house of the man.
So they start from the house of the woman and then they march down to the house of the man and then that is where the man and the woman will begin their honeymoon by the family locking them up in one room. So after all the ceremony everybody goes away and the man and the woman will be locked in one room.
Whatever they do in that room only them and God know I'm not telling you. So whatever they do there only them and God will die.
So that is that was a tradition and these things are done at night. So and that is why when they are going for weddings they go with their lives and all these uh shenanigans that our ladies do these days when they go to marriage and you tell them that they will tell you that the marriage will take place at 2:00 p.m. And four, they are not there.
Five, you are still waiting for them. It didn't start today. It started long ago.
So they are not always prepared. And even if they are prepared, they wait and that makes the wedding prolonged.
And so because the man the bridegroom knows that the lady will definitely delay. So the man takes time in coming to the house of the woman to take her along. So you are delayed, I am delayed.
So at the end of the day, everywhere is delayed.
And that was the problem the situation and that is the situation that Jesus is speaking of today to give us this story in the context of the marriage that the man this these people they will come there might be a delay. The lady might delay, the man might delay. And in that process of delay, what happens? You must be prepared.
You must be prepared. So that is why if I'm if I'm doing a wedding in this church, I normally call the lady. I said, "Now tell me if you tell the people 2:00, tell me the truth. when are you going to come?
You can tell the people what you want to tell them but tell me when are you going to be ready?
So because there must be delay natural delay so and that is it's expected and that is what Jesus brought into the second coming of Christ that there might there will be delay. Look over 2,000 years that Jesus has died and resurrected and we are still waiting for his second coming. For some people oh we have waited a long time. Many generations have died without seeing the second coming of Christ. There is delay.
But within that period of delay, how what are you doing? How prepared are you?
What are you doing? And how prepared are you?
And so it this takes us to the next level of it.
The next level of it. The next thing for me was that at the end of the day after all the delay then the bridegroom arrived and then there was a cry the bridegroom has finally arrived now not arriving at his own house but at the house of the lady. So the bridegroom has arrived let us now go and meet him. So now all the brides and the bridesmaid and everybody they all started coming out but it was already late in the night very late in the night. The lamps that were there had started dying out. So when they woke up all they did was to trip their lamp and then they added more oil.
And so when the ones that have extra oil, when they were adding the extra oil, the ones that have no extra oil, we are begging them to give them some of their oil.
And they said no.
And I know you as a Christian and with your your background as a Christian, you might be wondering, oh why did they get the Jews? They should be generous. They should have shared. Uh that is not the message. The message is very simple that the journey the journey to heaven is a personal journey and you must prepare for it yourself.
It is a personal journey and you must prepare for it yourself. I am not going to prepare for it for you. You are not going to prepare for it for me. It is a personal journey and you must prepare for it personally.
Nobody will do it for you. So if you forget your oil, that is your business.
If you lose it somewhere along the line, that is your business. You have to be prepared because uh there are some people who have been you know sometime in their life when they were growing up maybe when they were staying with their grandmother their grandmother was taking them to church and they are very good church girl church man but after some time they fell completely.
They no longer even go to church. They not even think about God. they start living life wayward worldly.
It is your choice.
You are making a choice.
And today I'm reminding you is here lying in the box.
It is a journey all of us must take.
Today is him. Tomorrow it might be me or you. But the fact is that one thing I like about death is that all of us know that we're going to die. The only thing we don't know is when and how.
But for being like this, we know it must come. But when and how we don't know.
So but we know all these things but sometimes we take we take them for granted. We don't give a damn and we just live life as if nothing will happen. And I assure you something will happen.
>> And when that day comes, I pray for you to be ready because the worst thing that will happen to you is that you are not ready when that day comes.
And for some of us that day is no longer far. That day is very near.
So be prepared.
Be prepared.
And that is the message.
So let me briefly explain to you two things before we continue.
The lamp and the oil.
The lamp and the oil.
What is the significance of this lamp that they carried? You know, normally we know in those days in the ancient days, no electricity, um no touch light, all they had was light. And those of us who have who experienced that that period, we know that there are very various forms of land that we had in those days. But somehow the whole idea is for the lamp to provide light. It provides light.
But according to the word of God, the lamp represents divine guidance.
The lamp represents divine guidance. And that is why if you go to any church at all during services, you must see the candle as a sign of the lamp burning.
The lamp the candle is always burning.
Then if after the service like in Catholic church and in Anglican churches then you will up there there is a man that is there.
Unfortunately, it seems that one is gone. I will replace it now. So, there is a man that is there that he keep burning and that signifies the pres the presence of the divine guidance. And that is why when we encourage people when you pray, light the candle. And when you light the candle, that candle is a sign of the divine guidance in your life, in your prayer, in your family at that time. The life and the sign of it. It says Psalm 119 verse 105. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a lamp unto my path.
Psalm 119 verse 105.
the the lamb is a guide. It signifies God's presence.
If you read the book of Proverbs, Proverbs 20 27, the book of Proverbs 20:27 says, "The lamp of Yahweh in man, there is the lamp of Yahweh in man."
That is the divine guidance that is in man.
So when there is divine guidance in your life, the Bible calls it the lamp of Yahweh. The y the lamp of God. So there is the lamp of God in man. In Exodus 25 31-4, God's eternal presence among his people.
He talks about how God was journeying with his people. He goes with them and the pillar of cloud and there's a pillar of light at divaring guidance and I ask you do you have divine guidance in your life do you have the lamp of God in your life and it is the word of God that gives you that guide that so there are so Many things we can say but let me just leave it at that that remind you today that when we talk about the lamb we are talking about divine guidance in your life.
Then what of this oil?
Oil is used for anointing. You know you anoint people um for those of us who are in the Anglican communion and in the Catholic communion. So when we baptize people we anoint them with oil and oil is used for dedication, for consecration, for healing and for invocation of the divine blessings.
So oil signifies the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
Oil signifies the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
And that is why you hear us say many times it is the anointing with oil that breaks the yoke.
Anointing breaks the yoke and it symbolizes that connection between the physical and the spiritual.
Now why am I making this reference? I'm making this reference because sometimes we seem to forget that there are certain things that connect us with God. There are certain things that connect us with God. We are humans and as humans there are symbols and signs and things that connect us with God.
And once a Christian begin to lose touch of all these things that connect us with God, we lose touch with God himself.
And then we begin to float and we begin to drill our pants.
And I want to use this opportunity as we gather to bury our brother to ask some of us who are here.
You know there is this kind of attitude that most of the time we especially those of us who are men I'm singing out men all of our men because Donald is a man is a man we all in that category most of the time we don't go to church we see church as if it's something for the women and we stay we stay away we drink our lives out and we smoke out our lives and you don't give that life to God.
Life that is not given to God is not a life at all.
Life that is not given to God is not life at all.
So I call on all of us men, wise men, be wise.
Do not be part of the foolish fight. Be part of the sensible fight. Renew your connection with God.
I'm not talking of church here. You can go to any church you want. That is not the problem. The problem is your connection with God. But don't tell me that I'm in my house. I'm connected with God in my house. you're a liar.
There are there are ways and procedures to connect with God.
And one of them is to be part of a worshiing community. A community that gathers and prays and sing praises to God and work together as a community.
That is the church.
And that is what God is asking us. Be connected with God.
So I want to end by extending the our sincere condolences, the condolences of the church to the family of Panchcho. So please accept our sympathy, accept our condolences.
Uh one thing about death is that when it comes, it comes. There is nothing we can do about it. And and as I normally tell everyone in this church, even if I hit the box now and Panto jumps up there, all of you will run away. You will leave me here. You will all run away. So we jump through the window.
So our brother has started his journey.
All we need to do is to support with our prayers. And for you the family members, please know that you are in our prayers.
You are in our hearts. You are in our minds.
Uh St. Paul describes this journey that Donard has started. He describes it this way. He said, St. Paul says, "I have fought the good fight. I have run the race. I am finished. I now await the crown of glory of which God the righteous judge will give to me."
So Don has joined that particular category of people. Those who have run the race who have finished the fight and is now awaiting the crown of glory of which only God can give. You cannot give it. I cannot give it. It is only God that can give that crown of glory. So our main reason for being here today is to ask the God of glory to give you that amount of glory that only God can give.
So we pray that God will grant our prayer and give thank the crown of glory through Christ our Lord.
>> Amen.
>> Eternal rest to him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine. May the soul rest in peace. Amen.
I now invite you to stand for the prayers of the faithful.
And I ask for daughter Daniela Ash to come forward to lead us in the prayers of the faithful brothers and sisters friends in Christ.
We now turn to God in prayer to ask him to show mercy to show kindness to show support to our brother Donah as he journeys towards him in glory.

>> Lord our pray.
We now ask our mother Mary to pray with us and for us as we pray. Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you amongst women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and the hour of our death. Amen.
Almighty God and father, hear our prayers. for your son, our brother, your servant, Don Pancho. Forgive whatever wrong he may have done and through the prayers of this worshiing community, bring him to the joys of eternal life.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
>> Amen.
>> Please be seated.
We now take up our collection and the the family would assist us in doing that. The bereavement ministry will assist the family in taking up the collection. Also the after the collection we have the offer tree the presentation of the gifts. So whatever other gift the family would have they will bring it up together with the offering taken up our collection hymn and presentation of gifts the hymn for that into your hands for the choir will lead us into the hymn and we all join in the singing.
We kindly ask that you be generous in giving your offering. Let's all sing together into your hands into your hands.
We spit, oh Lord, to your Glory to God.
I will your name.
I love you to your nation every time for the presentation.

for your So brothers and sisters, we now turn to God in prayer as we pray in the ways our savior gave us as the pattern of all prayers. Our father in heaven will be done in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation.
Deliver us from evil.
>> Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our day that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our savior Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever.
>> Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles, "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will. Who live and reign forever and ever.
>> Amen.
>> The peace of the Lord be with you all.
>> And with your spirit.
>> Let us offer one another the sign of peace.
See the I just love Jesus.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Again, we are tot that will be redeemed with I shall victory.
We now sit for our meditation.
As we reflect on the life of our brother Donald, we sit quietly and join in the singing if we can or we have some quiet meditation.
But I come blowing in.
I'll find my rest without you.
I fall.
You're the one that God has.
Lord, I need you. All I need you every hour. I need you.
My worthlessness, my rightousness.
Oh God, how I need you.
With silver, your grace is born.
Where grace is found is where you are.
And when you are Lord I am free.
Holy is rising.
Lord I hear you. All I might need Lord I need my rightousness.
All the mighty you.
No one defends my rightousness.
Oh God, I need you.
Oh my goodness, my rightousness.
Oh, how might I be?
We now have some words of gratitude from the niece of Donna, Larissa Wellington.
Good afternoon again to everyone.
On the behalf of the Wellington Panchu family, we would like to thank each and every one of you for being here today to celebrate the life of our Blanch with us.
To my family, my uncles, my auntie, I would like to say special thanks to you guys, my mom for trusting in me to arrange this Thanksgiving celebration for your brother.
Thank you for the strength that you all have added towards the one that God gave me to stand here today leading up to my 40s which was last month. I heard the Holy Spirit said, "There are things that I am preparing you for. I have been preparing you for."
Little did I know this would have been the first day as I entered my court decade.
So I want to thank my family so much for just being by my side while I handled everything else.
Thank you for being so supportive in always calling in always being there to know how everything went at the end of the day.
A special thank you to Uncle Aisha's best friend, Edwin Bur, who was also his caregiver.
I cannot thank you enough for everything that you have done for Galisha.
But I already thank God for the double portion and fresh anointing that he will brought upon you.
And to every and anyone else who was involved in helping Edwin and Uncle Aisha in the short space of time, we thank you.
Many people have asked the question, were he sick?
The answer to this question, we the family did not know. As I said earlier, it happened so quick. He felt sick in January, went to the doctor, and before you know it, we're here today.
So we want to thank all of you for being here keeping us in your prayer and comforting us with your comforting words.
So to the family friends we thank you for your most sincere leave for your presence your support your kind expression and sympathy which has been a great source of comfort to us. May God continue to bless and grant you all in peace with his protection. May he keep you all under his wing. Rest in peace, Uncle Elisha. Thank you.
>> And we thank you to Larissa for demonstrating this braveness. God bless you my dear. I now invite you to stand for the final commendation and the farewell.
Brothers and sisters, friends in Christ, with faith in Jesus Christ, we reverently bring the body of our brother Don Pancho to be buried in its human imperfection.
Let us pray confidently to God who gives life to all things that he may raise up this mortal body to the perfection and the company of the saints. May God give donor a merciful judgment and forgive all his sins. May Christ the good shepherd lead him safely home to be at peace with God our father. And may he be happy forever with all the saints in the presence of the eternal king. Our Father who art in heaven, be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation.
Your response is receive his soul and present him to God the most high.
>> Saints of God, come to his aid. Come to meet him, angels of the Lord. Receive his soul and present him to God the most high. May Christ who called you take you to himself. May the angels lead you to Abraham's side.
>> Receive his soul and and present him to God him.
>> Give him eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine perpetually upon him forever.
>> Receive his soul and present him to God the most high. Let us pray.
Father, into your hands, we commend our brother Don Pancho. We are confident that with all who die who have died in Christ, he will be raised to life on the last day and live with Christ forever.
We thank you for all the blessings you gave him in this life to show your care for all of us and the fellowship which is ours with the in Christ Jesus. Lord, hear our prayer. Welcome our brother to paradise and help us to comfort each other with the assurance of our faith until we all meet in Christ to be with you and with our brother forever. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
>> Amen.
>> Donald, may the angels lead you into paradise. May the marts come to welcome you and take you to the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem. Through Christ our Lord.
>> Amen.
>> Let us pray.
Grant Almighty God that your servant Donald Pancho who has journeyed from this world may by the prayer of this community be cleansed and free from sin and so receive the everlasting joys of the resurrection. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
>> Amen.
>> The Lord be with you.
>> And with your spirit.
>> And may almighty God bless you. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
>> We now take our brother to his final place of rest.
We ask you to stay in your seats as we take his body out of the church. But Larissa has one final word for you. Just let people are listening at ease.
Thank you.
In light, the actions speak louder than words. And just a quick uh record of Uncle Elijah um what he was passionate about. But before that, I would also like to say thank you to the priest and to Miss Margaret for this afternoon. We really appreciate you all. Thank you so much.
