Lavimoniere masterfully demonstrates that high-level expertise is best expressed through the quiet precision of practical diagnostics rather than academic jargon. It is a compelling reminder that the most vital knowledge often resides in the hands of those who actually keep the world running.

SERVICING 4 AC UNITS - HERE'S WHAT I FOUNDAdded:
More ACs to check.
That time of year starts getting a little warm. Everybody's calling to check their air conditioner.
Make sure it's all right, the filters and run the unit.
Top them off if you have to. Make sure the refrigerant's okay.
All right, I changed the filters. There was a little bit of [Β __Β ] on there.
And I wrote on the box there.
I don't know when they are today up and down here. So, this is a first company unit. 4 410 I got one more filter in there. I'm probably going to need to get us some more.
20 by 20 by 1 That's a common filter. I'm going to need to get us some more.
This one is a little cooler down here.
I had to wrap all this duct. I was here a few months ago wrapping the duct.
I wonder if they have some kind of shut-off thing that she was talking about.
Yeah.
It's some kind of water shut-off device or something that she wanted on this thing. I don't know.
I've to check this filter here.
Same thing, 20 and 20 by 22 and a quarter by one. I think I have some of these in the truck.
This is the first floor unit. This is an R22 unit.
Let's see what this is.
Oh, yeah.
A little dirty there, mama.
A little dirty on that one.
I'm going to need to get us some more filters.
I'm going to need to get us some more filters.
He's doing one each.
That one's a little dirty.
All right.
>> [sighs] [sighs] >> This is the first floor one.
The other one was the second.
410A on the second, 22 on the first.
I don't know who she has does the oil burner, but it's not me.
one I believe it's a leaker.
>> [sighs] >> All right, I got eight on the subcooling. Can you see that?
114 on the suction.
Superheat's 21. It's got a TXV.
Eight on the subcooling, that's fine.
Uh subcooling six, I'll bring it up a little bit.
I'll give it a little douche.
A little douche will do you.
Bring that subcooling up a little bit.
>> There's some cooling up the 10.
10.9 Suction's at 114.
Subcooling's at 11.
That's a little better.
Leave it right there.
We've got a Goodman here on the first floor. We're going to check this one.
All right, we'll run this one. This is R22. We changed it to R22.
We'll check this one.
This is the first.
This is a second floor. We're going to shut this one off.
Mini split here, that seems to be working fine.
No issues with this one.
>> [sighs] >> What's that one there?
We've got a 74.
This one here is only 69 in here.
I'm putting it to uh Yeah, just to check it.
It runs.
That first floor Goodman unit.
51 50 the suction should come up a little bit.
51 on the suction.
Change the filter inside.
Superheat at 14. Subcooling is a little bit high.
Pretty sure it's a piston.
So, our superheat at 14 15.
Let's see our temperature coming back at 43.
Going to let it run for a bit.
That 50 is a little low on the suction, but see our suction temperature temperature coming back at 44.
46 Uh suction is coming up a little bit.
Going to let it run for a little bit.
We don't have a lot of load in there.
It's only 69, right? In the inside, so Uh suction is coming up.
This is R22.
All right, see our suction above 60.
>> All right, we're at 60 on our suction.
Temperature coming back on the suction line is 44.
Superheat is around 10.
I can't put any more in it cuz that suction where the superheat would come down too much.
Subcooling is a little high, but it's a piston, so That's it, right there.
See it?
That's going to be the final. It's fine.
Leave it alone.
How to stop a Goodman.
These are running.
59 in here. Low superheat, you know, uh low superheat cuz THAT HAD UH ALL RIGHT, 70.
74 ON THE AC.
I'm cooling right now.
We changed the filter. Put a new filter in there.
And we're going to ladder up.
Check this one.
This system's probably 4 years 3 4 years old here.
This one's been about 5 years.
126 on the suction. Superheat's 12.
Subcooling's about six. I could probably give it a little bit more.
Yes.
Subcooling there. Bring it up a little bit.
Give it a little douche.
A little douche will do you, mama.
I'm taking lunch to bring it up.
All right. Put a little bit more in there and brought that my subcooling up a little bit.
14 Give it a little boost.
We'll leave it right there.
>> [snorts] >> We'll leave it at 74.
I'm going to check the mini split, too.
It's a mini split here. I had gas to it last year.
>> Well, I don't know. It looks like the batteries are dead.
I put some new batteries in it. We'll see what happens.
All right, good.
It's starting to run now.
We're seeing it ramp up. We should be about 120 or so on the suction, you know.
This is 410.
You got to wait for it to ramp up.
It's starting to ramp up now. I can hear it.
You're supposed to put it in by weight, but I mean, if it's a leak, you're just going to kind of top it off.
You got to kind of go by eye, you know.
That's not looking bad there at 125 on the suction.
All right, that ain't looking bad.
126 on the suction.
11 degrees superheat.
54 on the temperature line coming back.
That's fine.
>> There's some nice heat coming out of here.
Good enough for this neighborhood.
You're supposed to check it with a uh You're supposed to check the mini split put it in by weight, but All right, so let's set it for what?
74, I guess.
I'll leave it at 74.
I had it off before, leave it off. We know it works.
I'll put new batteries.
