Can Cassidy Flip Matt’s $500 Truck?Added:
But I really think that actually Let me just grab my hammer real quick. Oh my god. This is what you get for being lazy. Pretty sure there's a flathead like somewhere maybe by the trunk. I want to make some visible progress for Mike's sake on this car today. We're going to go back to our original task that we tried to do before we replace this door. And that is cutting the edge of this quarter panel and tapping the metal back to widen up the gap down at the bottom corner. Just because of how these cars were built, they were kind of all like this. The gap is way tighter at the bottom than it is at the top. It's not the straightest line I've ever cut.
>> Use that. Oh.
>> Oh, look at that.
>> Look at that. Okay, here. Jake goes, >> we did find it.
>> Good.
>> Praise Jesus.
>> All right, we're going to put some uh filler on the top of that quarter. We got kind of a bum hand going on here.
So, we might have to attempt spreading it left, but we're going to see how it is today. I think that slide hammer did a number to my hand.
>> We're going to start off with that.
We're going to do it in sections. I'm not feeling confident in my right hand and my left hand is not what I normally spread with. So, we're going to try to give ourselves a little bit more time to work.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat up here.
All right, guys. This quarter panel is done. Was a struggle. My hand really hurts now, but um I do got to do a little bit more with 80 at the very bottom, but other than that, it's good.
Um I ended up going back and filling the last little spot here after I tapped down some highs. That's looking really nice now. So, this quarter is done. A day a panel. This is the biggest panel on the car. We got it done in the day.
Um, so now we're on to the door tomorrow. Um, there's going to be a couple few little small dents we got to still iron out of that door, but it should go pretty easily. Tomorrow's Friday, so we'll finish that door tomorrow and then the only thing left is a front clip. So, it's starting to feel like victory. Next week, by the end of the week, this will be in primer. I am almost certain of it as long as we don't have, I don't know, some crazy random thing that pops up, which sometimes does happen, but I'm feeling pretty confident that we're gonna have this in primer next week. Stay tuned. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe uh to see this car get some uh primer on it. We're going to see the [ __ ] on Matt bought that is getting dropped off here today. He looked pretty guilty when he told me, so we'll see how bad it is. It is nice. Only in the sunshine, though.
Is that is that what he's getting dropped off today? That looks like one of my OBS Chevys that I [ __ ] alied.
Well, at least it's a Chevy this time.
Apparently, this isn't the only one getting dropped off today. Apparently, there's more. I should try to locate Oliver and see what the plan is.
Probably going to have to go down and unlock my gate as well, cuz that's where that truck will be going. I wonder if it runs. Be sick if it did. Probably doesn't though.
Let's go bug Matt.
I'm not helping you and you're just it's like helping a friend of ours. It just it's a waste of time.
>> Stop it.
>> Another piece of God. Tell them what a lovely piece of junk that is. Why did you buy it?
>> How much should you buy it for is a real question.
>> Does it run?
>> Yeah. So, it runs a fuel on the carb, but the fuel pump needs to be done on it.
>> All right.
>> We have a fuel pump for us.
>> Okay. Well, do we need help unloading it or no?
>> Yeah. Well, where are we putting it? Cuz I know when I was over at the other one there quite bring stuff to the barrier.
>> Just Yeah.
>> Even though the other ones back.
>> Well, the let me bring them to barrier.
>> Not not ones like this.
>> No, but >> like the the nicer ones. Yes. Yes.
Please bring it to be barrier.
>> Does it come here?
>> Yeah, we'll just put it over here.
>> You're going to put it here >> or in Mike's yard?
>> Where? Yes. Well, this is not Mike's yard.
>> Remember when I grabbed the whole truck?
>> This is not Mike's yard.
>> It's a churchy yard that we're not supposed to put in.
>> Yes, I know. But for now, worst case, I'm going to move with a skid steer. No, >> apparently.
>> You see it runs?
>> Yeah. So, fuel down the car.
>> So, we got to change the fuel pump.
>> Well, it's easy to do.
>> I don't know. I don't think it looks that bad, Cass. No, >> it's just a mud off the highway. Is that is >> off my logging road that I live.
>> Oh, yeah. There you go.
>> Yeah. I mean, >> I have the grill for it, too.
>> Okay.
>> And then there is some uh chrome pieces at my house that I bought.
>> But this is Is this all the rust?
>> That's rust. Yeah, that's that's it.
>> That's a whole box. You need a box.
>> Yeah.
>> I'm not going to lie. I did throw the dent in it today when I was trying to load it, but like usually the tailgates are completely rusted out, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's a bit of a beater, but Yeah. How many miles on it or kilome?
>> There's like on a It's gas, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> This one's a 93. I got >> I mean, it might be a part, right, Cass?
It could be like a parts truck or whatever. No.
>> Yeah.
>> Isn't it? It's worth It's worth 500 bucks.
>> It's worth 500 bucks.
>> It's worth 500 bucks. Okay.
>> You got the paperwork?
>> Yeah.
>> Yes. All right, let's get her off.
>> We'll put it in the back there.
>> It's an OBS, though. If you can get it running and driving, they're definitely worth 500 bucks. When they run and drive and they're all in one piece, you can get a couple grand out of them.
Reassemble the front grill, put a new fuel pump in it. Cheap fix that you can do for under 200 bucks. Some of the interior needs to be cleaned up and part of the dash is missing. So, we'll have to go to the toward and pick out some pieces, but you could put it together, sell it for maybe 1,500, two grand. You might profit 750 bucks off of it after labor and parts. So, I mean, but seven if you, you know, you do a couple like a day putting the grill together, a day and like putting the fuel pump in, getting it running and driving and clean up the interior and one day if you sell it, you make 750 bucks. So, I guess that's not not bad.
>> What?
>> Another mediocre purchase.
>> Well, I was just saying like, you know, what do you do with something like this?
I was like, if we, you know, put the front end back on it, get it running, put the fuel pump in it. Couple hundred bucks in parts.
>> Could maybe sell for two, three grand.
>> Two grand. Yeah.
>> And so then you might make, you know, 750 bucks or whatever. And and the repairs only take a day. So, you know, a day's work, make 750 bucks. It's not bad.
>> Let's try that. Let's try that challenge.
>> Do whatever you can in like a day and see how much >> less than a couple hundred.
What >> is Mike? It's what >> But you don't need the junk.
>> This is Mike. Hey, this is from 4 months ago.
>> Four months ago.
>> It's from 4 months ago.
>> Selling you for 5 years, Matt.
>> Like, look at that priceless piece of OBS.
Spend 10 grand on it, then sell it for three. You are the man. Maybe get cast to do body peg, a lift kit, put some new tires and rims on it, and sell it for 10% of what you got into it. Good plan.
Jesus, you cannot fix stupid.
>> Michael, you are on a chair right now.
>> I like how Mike's just smiling away there, too. He's just so proud of himself.
>> I am. That's why my guard's full of them.
>> That's not so I could retire off those cars like that.
>> Well, Mike, you've never made a dime off of any of your cars either.
Hey, I bet you when I had my auction, even though I took a chicken, I still ended up with a million and a half.
>> Yeah, but you probably spent a million and a half to buy those vehicles. So, you just got your money back.
>> That thing at an auction go for 200 bucks, Cass.
>> Perfect. That's what I would buy it for.
>> See, that's what it's worth. That's what Cass would pay for it. 200 bucks.
>> I paid five >> plus delivery.
>> No, he dropped it. No, he's dropping it off. Yeah. Oh, that's good deal. I'd buy 20 of them now.
>> 500 bucks.
>> It's worth it.
>> And worst case scenario, let's just go get it running. Rally the out of it in the bush. And it's definitely worth $500 of fun >> for some content. And you can keep it in the bush.
>> Matt, I'll jump that truck.
>> No, we don't want you to get hurt.
>> Oh, you won't get hurt.
>> Up my road, Black Road, and jumped off somewhere.
>> No, we're not jumping the truck. Okay.
Find another truck. That's more in worse shape. That for green Ford will get running and jump back.
>> You're the black one.
>> Josh, what are we doing right now? My My Charger's crying for help out here.
>> We're making content, >> are you?
>> Yes.
>> Well, that doesn't help my charger.
>> It helps your channel.
>> You know, it doesn't.
>> Yes, it does.
>> Well, it helps my channel.
>> It helps our channel. This is a a crosspollination.
>> What? Holy an inbred child.
Crosspollination. That is an inbred child.
Okay. Well, I got real work to do.
>> I'm going to go up.
>> Oh, yeah. I've been watching you do real work all week.
>> Put it back there.
>> Right back there.
>> I just cleaned that whole area out.
>> Just at the back just for a couple until I get it moved.
>> There's no room.
>> There's no room. And you're buying more.
So what? You can offload the next port.
>> I'm not buying more. This is all the old stuff.
>> Yes. It's from 5 months ago. It's just the ones the barrier are the ones that that are actually worth something, >> right?
>> Oh, that guess is worth nothing.
>> I Yes, I agree. This is I said mediocre purchase.
>> At least it's a Chevy.
>> You know, there is refunds.
>> No, we're not. We don't We don't need a refund.
>> No, >> no refunds. Never ever refunds with M.
>> Well, I do refunds.
>> Okay.
>> I don't.
>> All right. Let's unload this thing.
>> I can't handle the abuse.
>> I know. I'm starting to feel like Avery.
>> Oh, we have to go all the way back.
>> Feel like Avery. I'm loving it. This is what it's like to be negative all the time. No wonder he's so happy.
>> You put in the right spot in the back.
>> There is no right spot. This isn't our yard. M >> for a couple days. It's fine.
>> That's what everybody says. Couple days.
[ __ ] 3 months later, I'm still looking at this poss.
>> Oh, OBS. Sorry, I got it wrong.
>> Oh, not BS. OBS.
>> Whatever floats your boat.
>> I got your gloves.
>> Cassidy. Mike. Mike.
>> The other side looks way better. I mean, >> THAT IS UNBELIEVABLE. That's going to be worth about 20 now.
>> You're damaging my vehicle.
>> That's worth a hundred bucks, not 500.
Beautiful. I mean, that door is going to be good on a >> You're a bit You're a bit abusive.
>> I said the other side looked better than this side for sure.
>> Oh, we're Oh, we're going further back.
Look, it even has a Chevrolet horn buddies. That's going to be worth 12.
>> Look, it has a beer. Oh, you're up, buddy. You're up.
>> That's 50 bucks.
>> I've had my fun. Let's get this POS off here. I mean, obvious >> Lincoln. Hey, >> not a bad bumper though.
It has some good features. Well, Mike needs some actually, but >> Okay, >> poor >> Okay, go.
>> Poor wife push. It's on a severe down climb.
>> Okay. Yo.
>> Is it?
>> No, it's just it's like >> it's it's Mike. The angle's crazy here.
>> That's why we just back it up up back it all the way back. Look how Look at the angle.
This is like an extreme incline.
>> Why don't you guys just jack up the trailer on the front?
>> Doesn't work.
>> Oh, >> I have to use my hand to put my trailer on.
>> We just back it up where it's more level.
>> There you go.
>> Feels like it's flat back there.
>> Yes.
>> And Lincoln just thinks we're going on a truck ride. It's like, how do I get into the >> No. Uh, I would have brought that truck or actually >> No, no, we're not.
>> To see See if it doesn't roll BACK A BIT.
>> NO.
>> 5 FT. YEAH. Drop the Just pin it.
>> Okay. Make sure Lincoln's out of the way.
>> Lincoln, come here.
>> Out of the way.
>> We're going to pin it here.
>> No.
>> No. No. No. No.
>> Back up. No.
It sees. Okay.
>> Brakes don't work on these trucks anyway.
>> Oh my gosh. [ __ ] >> He just loves car rides.
>> Oh yeah. He'll jump in your truck. He did it to a guy once. He had his breakfast sandwich in his truck. Lincoln jumped up in there and his breakfast sandwich.
Don't die.
>> Tank on this thing. Am I good?
>> Yeah.
That thing don't want to roll.
>> I just I told my cousin not to throw the e brake on when the vehicle sit. He put it on and I just released it. So >> yeah, but I mean it's nice the front roller.
>> It's rolling a little bit.
>> They never listen anyway.
>> Look at shade up to the back.
>> You're rolling.
I think we got it now.
>> I can't see.
>> Go a little more.
>> There's a bunch of pipe. See the damage now on the tailgate.
>> What?
>> So let's see the damage now on the tailgate.
>> Wait.
>> Stop.
>> Jesus.
>> What? You got to hit the [ __ ] trailer.
>> What?
>> You were going to drive it right into his trailer. Why does all the clean [ __ ] go in a barrier? You're dropping all the rusty [ __ ] here. Taking all the nice [ __ ] to barrier. What the [ __ ] is that?
>> Well, what am I supposed to do? Like transport for some rust over there?
>> Well, I don't know.
>> Some Okay. Well, >> there's nothing over there. It isn't.
All the nice ones. You're like, "Okay."
Even though the dodge is nice, you're like, "That one's going to bury." All the nice ones going to bury. Are we just going to drop?
>> Stay. That's okay.
>> You got there, Cat.
>> Rebel gives you wings.
I got one. Rebel.
>> That one's for first coffee.
>> This one's for lunchtime.
And then this one's for last coffee.
Look at that. Rebel gives you wings, but only if it gives you a heart attack. All right, guys. We're on to the door. The quarter is finished.
Um, it looks pretty good. Might have to touch up a little bit at the back, like just sand my edges and stuff. Um, but we're going to start working on the door. I've just got all the old paint like final ground off of it. Um, right here there was a little bit of like uh rust pitting or like rusty color. So, I just hit that with a sand blaster. We want to make sure that before you get any filler on these, all of the old material is off and any rust pits. Even if you there's an area on the door that when you stripped it, you saw kind of a rusty color underneath, you want to make sure that you hit that with the sand blaster because any rust left behind is going to bubble and peel back your body work. So, we really want to make sure that we're working with clean metal. I did hammer this down the other day where the mirror sits, and that's all good.
right here where the door handle is, there's a little bit of hammer and dolly work that needs to happen. And then on this uh body line, there's a little dent right there and a little one right there. So, I'm just going to hit those with the pin welder and pop them out.
When you have a little dent like that right on the body line, even though they are really small, what happens is the hit here and it pulls out the metal on the side of that body line. So, when I go do my body work, I'm going to end up having two little high spots right there. and I'm not going to be able to get that line straight. So, that's why even though it's a small dent because it's right there on the body line, we actually do really need to fix it.
Everything else is pretty good other than those couple little dents down here. I had to pull this door out probably half an inch and I ended up taking the door and tweaking it. Um, so down here I might go in. It's actually pretty good, but I can feel there's a little bit of a high right there.
and a little higher right there.
And right here is a little bit low. So, um, when I have my pins out, I'm just going to place a couple pins, get that evened out so that, you know, it's real nice and straight. And then we'll go in with our filler. Again, same procedure for filler. Marglass all the edges, and then bondo the panel. The only way that you'll ever get these panels dead straight is with filler, unless you're going to go in with a pick and a file.
And you know that that takes thousands of hours to make a car look like that.
So filler is our friend. Uh there's filler on even brand new vehicles right off the lot, right? So everything is within spec. You never want more than 1/4 in. I said that on one of my last videos and people are like never more than an eighth in. I always like to give people like your maximums.
Maximum on anything should be quarter inch. So, like here where there's the old lead seam, like there's probably even less than a quarter inch on that. I know that sounds like a lot. That is like that's the maximum. Everything on this car is actually way under that. But all the filler on this is still really thin. Everything is still metal, right?
Um it looks like a lot of filler, but everything is basically less than an eighth inch on this car. Like literally a hair's thickness. Anyways, filler is our friend. Let's get started on this door and fix some of these dents.
What Red Bull are we on right now?
>> The first one of the day.
>> No, we're on lunch. Red Bull.
>> Tasty.
Heat.
Heat.
So, Cat just asked a great question, and I'm going to go sand this, why I'm not going to use a round block in this round. Sometimes I do, or sometimes I'll get the round block started in there, but because the round block is the diameter it is, if a curve is more of a tight round, that bigger round block doesn't actually get into the grooves of it. And so here, I mean, it might work here, but I find it's hard to because it's kind of like flat and then curves up at a greater angle. So I use a block like this. And then I use this rounded edge to kind of work it in there. And I find that I can get a way better shape.
Using this block than the round block.
The round block is good on curves that are a softer curve than the block is.
So, if the round was an inch diameter like the block, it would be good. Or if it was a 2in round and you're using a 1in round block, it would be good. But if you're working with like a/2 in round, the 1-in round block just doesn't do it. And then this one's also got a nice flat side. So, especially for a panel like this where you kind of need a flat block and a round block, this guy works really well.
All right. Michael has uh found what he believes to be the windfield rubber.
>> Yes.
>> Mean it's going to fit. Where is it?
>> Way too small.
>> Hold yours in your corner.
>> Okay. And it should go in between these two gaps, right?
>> Well, it should go on these and then up in there, right?
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> Looks about right.
>> It looks a little short.
>> It does look a little short.
Once you get in there, hold that.
Or do we have it upside down?
>> I don't think so.
No, because it goes into this little >> See that? That fits right right around here.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Okay. It holds this.
>> Hang on.
>> No, it is for Look.
>> Why is it Maybe it's a different model of car.
>> I think it just stretches cuz it says charger 68 to 70 charger.
>> Generally, you don't have to stretch them that much.
>> No, I I don't think that this is Does it say charger?
>> Yeah, I just ran that number. So that's what it's for. 68 to 70.
>> It's got to go this way, right? It can't go can't go that way. I mean, it's got to go >> I mean, that's the right length, isn't it?
>> I mean, maybe once it's heated up and you put the glass in it, it stretches. I don't know.
>> Yeah.
>> Anyway, I'm going to look and see see if we don't have any more, but we'll put this one away. And it says it's the right one. Anyway,
