Good News Update: Be in the Know for Showcase this weekend

[00:00:04]After months of rehearsal, hard work, and excitement, our dancers are ready to take the stage and shine brighter than ever. We're coming to you live with some exciting updates, helpful reminders, and good news to help make showcase smooth, [music] organized, and unforgettable for everyone involved. Let's head straight to our showcase update team for everything you need to know before showtime. [music] >> Thank you, Ms. Mary Beth. Here's the backstage report for your day of showcase. When you arrive at your assigned check-in time, you will receive a parent sticker with your dancer's information. This sticker is your official pickup pass, so be sure to keep it safe throughout the event. And in this year's top headline, dance bags are officially allowed backstage.

[00:00:49]>> [music] >> Families may send dance bags with your dancers this year, but please make sure all shoes, costumes, tights, [music] accessories, and water bottles are clearly labeled with your dancer's name.

[00:01:00]Meanwhile, [music] our backstage moms will be working behind the scenes attaching matching wristbands directly to your dancer's bag.

[00:01:07]>> [music] >> The wristband information will match the parent sticker exactly, helping our [music] team safely reunite with the families after the show. If your dancer does not have a dance bag, the wristband will be attached to their street shoes.

[00:01:20]We also ask that families do not send any electronics, valuables, or toys backstage. DanceQuest staff and volunteers will have plenty of activities and entertainment to keep dancers happy and occupied while they wait for their big moment.

[00:01:35]>> Now, for your performance [music] prep update. Dancers should arrive with hair and makeup fully complete and wearing their first costume ready for the stage. If your dancer is performing in multiple [music] dances, please arrive dressed in the costume for their first dance.

[00:01:48]Today's quick reminders include no jewelry [music] except small stud earrings, no nail polish, no temporary tattoos, and dance shoes should never be worn [music] We also recommend that dancers arrive after having a hearty snack or [music] a meal before call time. Water and light snacks will be provided backstage throughout rehearsal and showtime.

[00:02:07]Before the audience takes their [music] seats, dancers will participate in our formal tech rehearsal. This important rehearsal allows dancers to practice on stage [music] with lighting, music, and spacing while our production team confirms all the sound and lighting cues are performance ready. The result, a smoother, more confident, and more spectacular show for everyone in the audience.

[00:02:27]And finally, tonight's major event update, a brand [music] new dismissal process designed to improve safety and organization for all families. This year, [music] dancers will not be dismissed from the stage following the performance. Instead, all dancers will be dismissed from the [music] holding area room. At the conclusion of the showcase, the one designated parent or guardian with the matching sticker [music] should report to the lobby hallway leading to the holding area room. Parents will be admitted in groups of five at a time for dancer pickup. Our staff members will verify that the parent sticker matches the wristband attached to the dancers and dancers bag before dismissal is approved. [music] And now, a few important live audience reminders as we prepare for showtime.

[00:03:12]For the best experience both our dancers and for our audience members, please make sure all cell phones are turned to silent while inside [music] the auditorium. Guests may enter and exit only between dances, never during a performance. [music] If little ones become upset or noisy, we kindly ask that you step into the lobby for [music] a quick break. And now, one of today's biggest headlines, absolutely no flash photography or video recording, including on cell phones. Every show is being professionally photographed [music] and recorded as families can fully enjoy the performance without distractions while helping us keep our dancers [music] safe under the stage light.

[music] Quantities are limited and available on a first come first serve basis, so families [music] are encouraged to shop early before items sell out.
