Traditional second floor decks waste valuable space underneath due to numerous support posts placed every 6-8 feet, but this can be solved by using a large steel beam that spans 32 feet between posts and projects 16 feet from the house, creating completely unobstructed usable space below while waterproofing the upper deck for year-round functionality.

Most Second Floor Decks Waste This Space… Here’s the Fix追加:
If you're thinking about building a second floor deck and not doing this, you're literally wasting a lot of space.
A regular deck would have a ton of posts underneath here, probably every 6 to 8 ft, completely ruining the space underneath and making it unusable. What we have done, we spanned 32 ft from that post to that one and projected 16 ft from the house, creating completely unobstructed, usable space with a beautiful view into the backyard. And we're going to be waterproofing the upper deck space, making it completely waterproof, further enhancing the space underneath today.
