Successful wedding artists should ask clients 'What do you want to feel when you look at your painting?' to ensure the artwork captures the specific emotional experience of the day, rather than just documenting events; clients who can articulate their desired emotional response (such as feeling love during future conflicts or experiencing family unity) are the best clients because they understand that wedding art is about capturing feelings, not just events.

The question I ask every couple before I say yes追加:
I don't say yes to a wedding unless the client can answer this question first. I ask it during every first conference call and I don't move forward with a proposal until they've answered it.
Because I've noticed that the couples who can answer this question with clarity are the best clients to work with. They know exactly why they want my work and they can see past the fact that life painting is good entertainment for a party. These are the clients that are also thinking about 50 plus years down the road. So the question I've always asked is what do you want to feel when you look at your painting? Most of the time I get happy, love, nostalgic even, but it's the couples who actually stop for a minute and think about the question and then give me a very highly specific answer that actually know what they're doing when they book me. It's the bride who said, "In 10 or 15 years when we're in the middle of a fight and I hate his guts, I want to be able to look at this painting and feel the reason that I married him." Or it was the couple who came from completely different cultural backgrounds and they said, "We want to feel the unity of our families coming together on that day."
Whatever that answer is for you, I just want to make sure you can get super specific on that and you have clarity.
Because if I know exactly why you want a wedding painting, I can make sure you're getting exactly what you're paying for.
Because wedding art is not just about what happened. It's about capturing exactly how the day made you feel and that's what I do best.
