A $1.8 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund created by the Trump administration to compensate individuals who assaulted police officers during the January 6th Capitol riot has sparked significant political controversy, with Republican lawmakers including Brian Fitzpatrick, John Thune, and Bill Cassidy publicly opposing the fund, and former Capitol Police Officers Harry Dunn and Daniel Hodges filing a lawsuit to block it, arguing that paying rioters bankrolls future political violence against law enforcement.

Who Fought Jan. 6 Rioters Are Now Suing Trump to Stop Him From Paying Those Same Rioters $1.8BAjouté :
Hey, Trump used that $1.8 billion of our tax money to pay all his friends.
And now his own party, well, they're not happy and they're going to try to stop him. There are some Republicans out there who are not going to stay quiet about this. Like Pennsylvania Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick. Straight up told reporters, and I quote, "We're going to try to kill it." Okay? Senate Majority Leader John Thune said he's not a big fan. Senator Bill Cassidy, who just got primary doubt by Trump's own endorsed candidates, said people are struggling to pay their mortgage and their groceries and that all true. And that $1.8 billion should go to them, not this crap. And these aren't things that people are saying just behind closed doors. They're saying it on camera.
They're telling reporters publicly about this.
And they're not alone because the officers who were actually there that day, who defended the capital with, you know, their own bodies, they filed a lawsuit as well to shut all of this down. Former Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn and DC Metro Officer Daniel Hodges called it corrupt, a sham, and said that the fund doesn't just insult them, it puts their lives at risk. Their argument is that paying the rioters essentially bankrolls future political violence against them.
Honestly, I just want to see if all this talk by these Republicans actually turns into action.
Hey, do me a favor, hit that like button, share, bookmark this, and uh drop into the comment section. I want to know, do you think congressional Republicans will actually follow through and kill this fund? Or, as I mentioned before, are they just talking? Let's talk about it.
