High pressure systems from the north create stable, comfortable weather conditions with lower humidity and pleasant temperatures, while moisture from the Gulf Coast can bring potential rain systems that may affect regional forecasts, demonstrating how atmospheric pressure patterns and moisture sources determine local weather conditions.

Great Weather Moving in E Tennessee & N Georgia, But for How Long?Añadido:
[music] >> Good Tuesday afternoon everybody.
Meteorologist Greg Majeski back with you here in the North Georgia Majeski Studios with your Talking Live forecast update here on your June 2nd, 2026.
Well, we definitely dodged a bullet for a lot of North Georgia yesterday with that active severe weather that moved through Alabama. Fortunately, we had the residual wedge in place that kind of kept us stable. So, that was definitely some good news there. Could still could see a few spotty showers for today, but the big weather story for [music] us really is going to be the outstanding weather we're going to see across East Tennessee and North Georgia here for the next few days with lower humidity and very comfortable low temperatures. Now, before we get into this full report, if you're new [music] here to the Talking Live broadcast channel Facebook page, please give us a follow. And if you happen to be watching over on YouTube, hit that subscribe button. But more importantly, make sure you hit that notification bell so you're alerted on all future updates because if you don't, well, YouTube's not going to let you know we've made an update. All right, let's get into today's forecast as we're going to see some sunshine and some clouds. Still a partly sunny day for this afternoon. We are expecting more sunshine as we head into your Wednesday for your midweek forecast and I'll see it's similar conditions there in Helen as well across the North Georgia mountains with sunshine and some clouds kind of playing hide and seek out there.
Now, as we take a look at the current radar, we're getting a little bit activity, a little lone shower down here in Pickens County. But East Tennessee, you're looking pretty much high and dry.
We knew we were going to stay pretty much dry up here in Tennessee. We might see a few spotty showers across North Georgia for today, but that's going to be about it here as we wrap up your Tuesday. As you can see there on the satellite imagery, you got some of the clouds in the region for right now.
Though, should clear out of here for tonight and set up for some very nice weather as high pressure builds in from the north as we go into your midweek forecast. So, temperatures today warming up nicely into the 70s and we'll see similar readings for tomorrow. A few isolated 80s with 70s. Very comfortable, low humidity, and some very pleasant temperatures for this time of year. No complaints. As you know, we could be sweltering a lot hotter than this uh June standards. So, as we go and take a look at our forecast model of data here again, as we're watching, we might see it get just a few showers that may pop up here across North Georgia here for the rest of the afternoon. But, once it's done, it's done, folks. We're finished. In fact, we're going to we're going to go ahead and stay quiet here for the rest of the week. Not seeing anything major coming at us. Looking here pretty good as we go through Thursday and Friday. And it seems some moisture coming out of the Gulf there.
There's a little disturbance that uh may try to ride up into Louisiana and Mississippi. Where it goes from there uh remains to be seen on that. So, it could have an impact on our forecast as we go into early next week as far as the rain.
But, for right now, we're looking at some very dry, great weather here as we wrap up the work week. So, looking at your uh forecast rains again, you can see it maybe a few spotty showers here across parts of North Georgia, but East Tennessee, you're looking dry. No problems there for today and for the next several days. So, the big story's going to be the fact that we got temperatures in the 50s for lows. We will definitely take that for June, absolutely. Uh beautiful day there on Wednesday looking at abundant sunshine across our area. And look at these high temperatures, just very, very pleasant indeed. We're talking temperatures there's 79, there's one in Chattanooga, 75 in Blairsville, 75 in Canton, there's 80. So, again, not only is it comfortable temperatures, it's low humidity cuz the dew points are very low, in the 50s, and it's going to feel quite comfortable out there. So, hopefully you're able to get out there and enjoy some great weather. And as we go into your Thursday morning, looks like we'll see a repeat performance here. Again, a lot of areas will be once again in the 50s for your Thursday morning. So, a couple of really great days ahead. All right, let's go look at our forecast maps. Let's go take a look at this as we go for the next several days. One thing you're not going to see is a lot of green. We're going to finally back things off. We've had a kind of redundant chance of rain just about every day for a while now. And uh things are going to dry out. We got that high pressure system up here toward the north. That'll be kind of building on in here. So, it's setting up very nicely there across our area. And uh looking good for Thursday as well and going into Friday. So, as we go through the rest of the forecast period, we'll start to see things begin to change for the weekend.
So, as we go into Saturday, the high starts to retreat. You notice all that moisture there kind of streaming back off toward our from our west. So, the question is going to be does it start to make any adjustments over toward us as we head toward Sunday and then how much?
The European model overnight and when the new one's coming in later this afternoon was pretty aggressive with bringing some rains back in here. I'm on another run to take a look at it. And then go looking into Monday and Tuesday, we'll have the chance of rain returning back at us. Not not overly high, but at least the chance of rain is coming back at us as we go into next week. So, as we go look at our forecast for tomorrow, great looking day. 81 59 in Chattanooga.
Of course, a little bit of urban heat island day. Suburbs will be cooler than that here for your Wednesday. Check these out. A lot of areas in the 50s, even some 40s in the mountains in North Carolina. Boy, that is very pleasant. We got a lot of great got a lot of great readings out there to say the least. And daytime highs here mostly here in the 70s looking very good to right around 80°. Very nice weather overall here across the area. So, regional looking like this. Again, we've got some rains down on the Gulf Coast down there toward New Orleans and Mobile and Destin, but other than that, everybody else looking a lot of abundant sunshine. 77 in Atlanta and Asheville, 84 in Memphis, 79 in Savannah, and 78 there in Jacksonville. Next 7 days, here we go.
Looking pretty dry. Got a little dry spell coming at us. We We deserve a little bit of a break as long as it doesn't last too long cuz obviously we've been chipping away at that drought. We want to keep doing that, but we get a few days to dry off. We do warm back up here a little bit, but the chance coming up on Monday and Tuesday.
And right now I got about a 50/50 chance there on Tuesday. But again, [music] it's really going to be very dependent on what happens with any kind of moisture coming in out of the Gulf.
Again, we're not talking about a tropical system, just some moisture that may come up to the north here and it could enhance our rains or not depending on [music] its exact track and everything. So, we're going to watch that closely. Now, when that does happen, you may want to make sure you have the latest technology at your disposal. This is a great weather app, one of the best in the business here.
The top QR code there is for the App Store or the bottom one there is for Android users or Google Play. Sponsored by our friends at Roofit [music] Forward. Go ahead and download that app there. It'll tell you alert you when there's rain in nearby, alert you when there's lightning nearby. It'll give you a future cast for where it's going to project you to go over the next hour, [music] hour by hour forecast, obviously severe weather alerts. It's a great tool to have and it's one we're going to make better as we go along. So, please go ahead and download that. Take a quick snapshot right now. There you go. You got it. Take that and download that app.
It's a great tool to have. Do appreciate you guys helping us out there. So again, looking pretty good. I hope you go get out and enjoy this great weather we're going to have. We deserve it, especially after all the heat, humidity, and all the rain. Yeah, we need a little bit of a break. Again, appreciate you guys checking us out here on the Talking Live Broadcast Channel Facebook page. Please give us a follow and over on YouTube hit that subscribe button and [music] then make sure you hit that notification bell to be alerted on all future updates. Bye-bye.
