Successful film adaptations require careful balance between honoring source material and adapting it for new audiences; when humor is overused in the first half of a film, it can undermine character development and emotional engagement, while the second half often allows for better storytelling and character depth.

Masters Of The Universe Out Of The Theater Reaction!Hinzugefügt:
What's going on everybody? It's an out of the theater reaction for Masters of the Universe. This one is directed by Travis Knight, Nicholas Galatine as He-Man, Prince Adam, you got um Idris Ela in there, uh Allison Bree, Jared Leto as Skeletor, and again, this is just my out of the theater reaction. I can't give a full non-spoiler review yet until the embargo drops. So, I'm just going to tell you my thoughts kind of coming out of it. So, if you're brand new to my channel, you never seen me before, you just kind of stumbled upon to see this. I have a history of this movie. I kind of um almost got this movie made years ago. Uh so, I was always hoping for like a uh a Lord of the Rings meets type of Star Wars movie.
And everyone's like, "Oh, you're just going to judge it off that?" Not, because that's not what this this trailer's set up. It's not what this is at all. And there is more of a Ragnarok feel to this than anything else, or Guardians, maybe even better. So, what I'm going to say is I'm going to tell you the things that I like. Um, I like the swings that the movie takes. I like the fact that it really goes for it. You can tell that Travis Knight is a fan of Masters of the Universe. You can tell that he took that stuff and that love for it as a kid and he brought that to it. Um, Eternia looks great. Jared Leto as Skeletor is fantastic. The look is good. Eternia looks good. The the characters, the creatures, everything, the look and feel of it great. The fights and the music when it really kicks up works. when uh Adam turns into He-Man, that stuff, the transition, all of that that works. The the how powerful He-Man is, the mission, the the um the lesson and the things that he wants to do and bring to Attorneyia, that all works. So, a lot of this really worked for me and I really enjoyed the overall tone and I think it really settles in the second half. That's the thing as far as the negative goes is the first half of the movie. And I think that the movie, yes, I understand that you can't make this particular movie wasn't meant to be a more serious Lord of the Rings meets Star Wars type of movie. This is supposed to be more of like a little bit more tongue and cheek um fun movie can take itself seriously at times and then add some humor. The problem is that when they use the humor, they overpower the humor in the first half, especially when they're in Earth. And some of the jokes I think that if it's going to land for you, you're really going to you you'll dig it all the way through. A lot of the jokes I felt like, all right, let's go.
Cuz you guys you had me with the stuff that in Attorneyia and then every once in a while when someone throws a joke, there's sometimes Skeletor throws jokes out like he did in the '8s cartoon and it really works. There's other times that it's just like you don't let anybody develop because right when you're about to develop and get emotional, there's a joke. Oh, and there's a joke. There's a joke. There's a joke. And that's for like the first half of the movie. Then it settles in.
It allows you to develop into the characters a little bit more. I think Nicholas Gausine does a good job of being He-Man, being Adam, and that's a little bit more what I'm going to get into in the non-spoiler review, the lore and other things, which is just, you know, the He-Man nerd in me. But overall, I think that if you're just going to the movies to watch like a really um a an epic face space fantasy with cool creatures, it's weird. It's kooky and and that's a compliment. And again, he Travis Knight takes swings, but if it didn't have that jarring humor for the majority of the first half of it, I think I would have loved this movie. But I wound up liking it. And like again, there's some times when I was just kind of rooting for um I was just kind of cheering in my seat and and feeling like a little kid again watching some of these scenes. So, um the movie works. It definitely works. and with the tone of what Travis is doing, but you're either going to be all in on the humor and love it or you're going to feel the way I did in the first half was just like, let's just let's focus on the story, guys. But that's my out of the theater reaction. That's what I thought of Masters of the Universe. Stay for the postredit scenes. You want to check that out, especially if you're a fan of the overall uh He-Man mythology. So, check it out. Go see it. If you're brand new to the channel, you never been here before, make sure you click like, comment, subscribe, do all that. We're trying to get to 300,000 subscribers by the end of the year. I got a couple of out of the theater reactions coming, scary movies coming up pretty soon. I got Disclosure Day coming all this week.
So, comment. Thank you for being here.
And I'll have a non-spoiler review of He-Man very soon. Thanks again. See you later. Bye-bye.
