CONNECTICUT FORECAST: Morning - June 19, 2026
Added:Well, welcome back. Heading into the weekend here. A great stretch of weather as opposed to like last night, some places got some rain, some high winds.
It's definitely nice to see 80s coming up.
>> I know. I'm glad yesterday was a thing of the past. Yesterday was really muggy throughout the day. We had a little bit more cloud coverage and of course we did have those stronger storms well to the north of us. There was several tornado warnings actually for our friends in Massachusetts. For us, it was overall I think we were largely spared a lot of the storm and the potential damage that we could have seen in some of those locally heavy downpours. So certainly a better day but on tap for us today.
Temperatures right now are in the upper 60s to right around 70 degrees.
>> It is a nice start to our morning here in New Haven as well as in Hartford with a beautiful sunrise a few high-level cirrus clouds filtering it making it even nice and more vibrant. 66 degrees right now in Manchester, 65 in Hebron, 69 in Haddam now out the door in Madison, 71 degrees. We're sitting in the mid to upper 60s in Norwich and around 59 in the Torrington area. So really a nice and comfortable day is expected. Humidity has dropped off significantly too.
>> So you'll certainly notice maybe you opened up those windows last night.
You'll certainly notice the difference in what it feels like outside as you step outside now. A little bit more cloud coverage for the back half of the day. So we'll go with a partly sunny sky throughout. Temperatures in the upper 70s to right around 80 degrees. Heading to the beaches today, temperatures around 76 to around 80. The water temperature is still quite chilly at 66.
High tide happening later this afternoon. Winds about 10 to 20 miles per hour so maybe a bit choppy on the water. The UV index today will be around a seven.
>> High temperatures today around 80 degrees in Willimantic, 78 in Torrington, and around 78 degrees in the Waterbury area. Tonight temperatures rolling back into the upper 50s to right around 60 degrees. So it is a nice clear and comfortable night which sets the stage for a beautiful weekend. The weekend forecast temperatures on Saturday will be up around upper 70s to right around 80° and near average June day. Again with a lot of sun around winds anywhere from 10 to 20 so slightly breezy at times and right down to the beaches will get quite warm. Now on Sunday for Father's Day temperatures will be in the low 80s again right down to the beaches beautiful afternoon expected with winds out of the west 5 to about 15 mph. Now we are getting in in a little bit of drought though. We do have a deficit in terms of how much rain we've received and so we are very dry to almost moderate across the state whereas some areas like the to the east of us towards parts of Rhode Island as well as a Massachusetts they're dealing with a severe drought currently. So we do need some rain and it looks like we could get some beneficial rain as we head through early next week. It looks like Monday and Tuesday could potentially feature some rain but we need it so we'll take it. The weekend largely dry no weather issues are expected winds winds anywhere from 5 to about 10 to maybe an occasional gust closer to 20 over the weekend a mix of sun and clouds but a near average day. So around 80 on Saturday 82 on Sunday. We're going to drop the numbers as we head through Monday around 72 but then we get those numbers right back up into the low 80s.
Also Sunday is the official start of summer and it looks like we'll start summer really on on Monday with the cool conditions and then building them back in over the course of next week.
