Each year, each grade focuses on a different character trait, helping our young scholars learn how to handle themselves with dignity, integrity, and respect. In sixth grade, our character trait is compassion. In their own words, compassion is a combination of empathy, kindness, caring, and volunteering to help others, and much more. These students were the embodiment of compassion this year with kind words, helping hands, and creating that sense of togetherness where no one was left out. Each class has two recipients.

I am here to present the counselor's award. Uh many of you know I am the counselor for fifth through 8th grade. Plenty of you have been to my office just to hang out, just to talk about small things, big things, whichever one, I was always present to be there. There is a particular student who stood out the most to me throughout this school year. Um and that student this well let me before I call the name this award is being awarded to sixth grade that felt uh that shows compassion empathy and just genuine good nature kindhearted who is deserving of this year's counselor award and this award goes to Katie Hernandez All right. Thank you everyone.
>> Uh thank you to our families and to our most importantly to our students. But we could not do it without our parents and our families, aunts, uncles, grandparents. It takes a village as they say. So, thank you to all of us for your staff uh for coming together to help each and every one of you grow. And whether or not you get a award today does not mean that you should not be celebrated. Each and every one of you should be celebrated today because there are victories in anything that you do.
You have grown. you have improved from how you started in September to where you are now is tremendous leaps and bounds. I made this joke the fifth one, but if anything that we've learned this week, especially when it comes to sports analogies, it's not how you start, it's definitely how you finish, right? Uh and so you finish this year strong. You are ready for middle school. you are uh worked with your teachers to learn all the things you need. He's grown to be respectful young adults to your colleagues, to your peers, and you also have made an impact, I know, on this sixth grade team uh this year that they are going to, you know, not forget your student. They're going to be definitely telling next year's fifth grade, you need to be more like the sixth grade.
So, Miss Osas is our dean. uh she was busy this year seeing who in sixth grade came the school ready to be role models and who is always ready to make the right choices to grow as a leader and as a scholar and so it is my honor to present Miss Oias's dean uh award to Brianna Batista Uh lastly before I hand it back over to uh Miss Murphy is uh thank you to everybody and thank you to parents, families for coming. Uh we do ask that um we have another program starting in about a half hour um 12:15. Sure. So plenty of time. So please, you are here. Take pictures with your children. Take pictures with the staff. Uh, thank you to our awards day committee for putting together this beautiful set up here. So, round of applause to awards day committee.
So, please do not rush out, right? Your your children will take pictures and they'll go back out to their back out to their classroom. Uh, everybody here is getting celebrated today at 2:00. you have a a special sweet treat uh to enjoy with one another in your classroom.
That'll be delivered at 2:00. We'll sugar you up right before dismissal so you go home to your families all sugared out uh and enjoy your weekend. Thank you again. Please take lots of pictures.
This is a good moment to celebrate the wins of each and every one of you. Thank you.
It has been our honor and pleasure to be your child's sixth grade teachers. It was a wonderful year full of growth and accomplishment. You should all be very proud of your children as I know we all are proud of them, too. Thank you for trusting us this year with their education and well-being.
