High pressure will bring summer-like warmth to Southern Colorado with highs in the 80s, 10-15° above average, and mainly dry conditions today, but moisture will increase mid-week bringing a chance of thunderstorms Wednesday to Thursday, followed by a cooler system for the weekend with highs dropping below average by Monday.

Dry & warm weather on Tuesday with shower chances increasing by mid-weekAdded:
Now, let's bring in meteorologist Alan Rose to check for our forecast. Good morning, Alan.
>> Tony, good morning to you. You ever been to an Avs game, by the way?
>> course. Too Too many to count. Though, actually Oh, years ago, the one that comes to mind were the Avs losing to the Wild in game seven.
>> Oh, don't think about Tony. Yeah, sorry to put that It's not going to happen this year. It's not I can put it out there cuz it's not going to happen.
>> I was going to tell a story, but we're moving past that. I want to get rid of the bad juju and get to your forecast.
Temperatures yesterday started to feel like summer. It's going to be even warmer today.
high 79 in the Springs, we topped out at 88 in Pueblo. Those highs around 10 to 15° above average. We'll be even warmer by a degree or two today and mainly dry across southern Colorado. Kimberlin a high base shower that typically generates more wind than any raindrops down at surface level. Now, we increase moisture in the midweek period with a chance of thunderstorms Wednesday to Thursday. Following that, a potent and colder system we're tracking for the upcoming weekend. Here's a live look outside from the Springs and Pueblo, a gorgeous and mild start to your Tuesday.
Becoming a little bit breezy in some areas as a cold front drops in across the northeast plains. Right now, we have 47 on the map in Kit Carson, 49 for Eads. Our friends in Lamar waking up to middle 40s this morning, but some very mild low 60s in play around Cañon City.
And compared to yesterday, many of us starting out quite a bit warmer than the same time back on Monday morning. In fact, it's 20° warmer right now in the Springs than it was back at the 5:00 hour Monday morning. High pressure is going to continue to build in from Arizona towards Colorado. And in spite of this frontal boundary dropping south of the Springs this morning, we're actually going to see a warm up in temperatures. About the only thing the front does is going to produce some breezy to gusty winds, especially for areas east of I-25. Notice the wind flow out of the northeast early in the day and then turning out of the east-southeast by the afternoon. The model shows mainly a few virga or high base showers today. Not really concerned about rain or widespread thunderstorm chances. Now, as you see the increase in moisture on Wednesday, that's when we get a slightly better chance, especially for the mountains and foothills, but might even see an isolated shower or storm reach I-25. And that comes as high pressure weakens. We get some energy and an uptick in moisture towards the uh Wednesday-Thursday timeframe. And then we get a secondary ridge on Saturday with some further warming, followed by a more potent system we're tracking into the upcoming weekend. Lots of energy, still trying to nail down those exact details and timing, but it looks like Sunday could turn showery, and by next Monday, highs are going to drop down to below average. Highs today not anywhere near average, well above it with widespread 80s for most of I-25 and the Eastern Plains. And then we're near record-breaking warmth Wednesday to Thursday.
I think our best chance for a shower will be Wednesday. Thursday's rain chances down around 20%, and then look at the cool down next week. 65 your high on Monday. In Pueblo, we'll go from 88 today to 90 Wednesday, 92 Thursday. A brief dip by a few degrees Friday, and then back to the 90s on Saturday. Cañon City, our best chance of a storm this week will be on Wednesday. We look to be dry the rest of the week into the first half of the weekend. An isolated storm possible Sunday. Better chance for rain next Monday. In Woodland Park, here we have a spotty thunderstorm on Wednesday and Thursday to go along with that warm-looking forecast. Finally, some cooler weather moves in if you're not a fan of the heat. Next Monday's high only around 60°.
