Will I Go To Hell If I Don't Accept Everyone's Tongue?

[00:00:00]I can't tell you how not only ignorant this is, but also how irresponsible this is.

[00:00:10]I'm not going to say who said this cuz I'm not trying to respond to that particular person or really anyone, but this comes up a lot. A lot of people say things like this and it just one, it demonstrates a lack of biblical understanding and it also just shows again ignorance, but it also just shows poor taste.

[00:00:30]I've I've got the name covered up. You may know who it is, doesn't matter, but I can promise you a lot of people say this. A lot of people say this. If you have some sort of general critique about the tongues that you're hearing, they'll say such certain things that you don't have the Holy Spirit, you don't trust in the Lord full of head knowledge, you're a Pharisee, which by the way tells me they don't know what a Pharisee is because Jesus never admonished the Pharisees for knowing the Bible. No, he admonished them for not knowing the word of God, but supplanting the word of God for their truth. Another story for another time. They'll say things like you don't trust the Lord, you don't trust the power of the Spirit.

[00:01:06]All these different things, anything to kind of demean you because they don't know the word themselves. And here is an example because they don't have a good grasp of the scriptures. So, what do they do? They will say that you are blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Look at this. It says, "Y'all realize," this person says, "when you call legitimate speaking in tongues demonic, that is blaspheming of the Holy Spirit." I feel sorry for people.

[00:01:32]So, this what this really says is this person who has a leadership position one is ignorant of one what blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is and it's just irresponsible. To tell these people that that if if you criticize legitimate tongues, you're going to hell.

[00:01:48]Let that sink in. If you criticize legitimate tongues, even if you ever come back around and say you You what, I was wrong.

[00:01:59]Let that sink in. That's how irresponsible and just plain ignorant this is this is just it's biblical mouth diseases especially if you're in leadership position. But regular folks say the same thing and then look at the response for those who don't seem to understand or don't want to understand.

[00:02:12]When someone is speaking in tongues under the power of the Holy Spirit and you call the power of God the works of the devil, that is blasphemy. You are saying what the Holy Spirit is doing is demonic and of the devil definitely blasphemy. Again, ignorant of what it means to for to say or what blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is. So let's back up.

[00:02:30]Let's go and just look at what blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is so we can help these people.

[00:02:34]Again, this is not one person that says this this happens a lot over and over again.

[00:02:41]In Matthew 12, therefore I say to you this is him after casting a demon out and they're saying that he does so by the power of Beelzebub.

[00:02:49]They are saying that he's done so because he does it by the power of Beelzebub.

[00:02:57]And we know that because previous before he says he is divided against if Satan is cast out against Satan. So this is the whole point where he says what he's doing he's doing under the power of the devil, under the power of Beelzebub.

[00:03:08]Here's how we know what blasphemy is.

[00:03:10]Let's go Let's go ahead and read the rest of the text. Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven.

[00:03:21]Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, yeah, that will be forgiven.

[00:03:25]But or can be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him either in this age or the age to come. So when you say when you say that someone who questions your tongues that they are blaspheming the Holy Spirit, you're saying they're going to hell. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

[00:03:42]They're They cannot be helped because neither will it be forgiven in this age or the age to come. That's what you're saying. Now it's ignorant on that on that person's part cuz they don't know what blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is. So what is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit?

[00:03:52]Well, in this case, who's he speaking to? Now, there are some that says that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit can only occur then and it can't occur now because you have to, and there's some truth to this, that you have to know that what Jesus is doing is under the power of the Holy Spirit and you attribute it knowingly, not ignorantly, knowingly to the works of the devil. How do we know it must be knowingly? Because that's what Paul did. Paul attributed what the church was doing to something that was against God, which would be what?

[00:04:27]In the area of demonic, attributing to the works of the devil. So much so that he's persecuting, killing people.

[00:04:33]>> [snorts] >> But what does the Bible say? That he was forgiven because he was what he did he did in ignorance.

[00:04:38]So it has to be a knowing a knowing intentional uh statement or distortion of what you know to be the Holy Spirit and accredit or attribute to the devil.

[00:04:50]How do we know even more so? John 3.

[00:04:53]This is when Nicodemus comes to Jesus.

[00:04:55]What does he say?

[00:04:56]Um Rabbi, we know What is Nicodemus?

[00:05:00]Nicodemus is a Pharisee. We, us Pharisees, know that you've come from God as a teacher, for no one can do the things can do the signs that you do unless God is with him.

[00:05:11]Well, Jesus knows that because there's a part later on where Jesus says that he didn't he he knew what was in them and he didn't trust himself to them. So he knew already Nicodemus spills the beans.

[00:05:21]And what are these Pharisees doing? They are seeing the power of God. They are seeing what's happening. They are seeing demons being cast out. They are seeing all these different things and they are attributing what they're seeing that they know is under the power of God and attributing to the devil. Because what do they say? We cannot deny that something miraculous has done So they said with the the blind man and even in Acts, they know that something has happened.

[00:05:45]But so this thing doesn't spread, they do all they devise all these different things. That's what blasphemy the Holy Spirit is. If you absolutely know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, you know, like Nicodemus says, that this is of the power of God cuz this can't be done unless it is, and you want to attribute it to the devil because you hate the Lord.

[00:06:05]That will not be forgiven. Now, how do we know How do we know that an unintentional blasphemy can be forgiven?

[00:06:16]And then let's go to see what Paul does.

[00:06:20]An unintentional blasphemy such as what we see here and on the day of Pentecost, what happens?

[00:06:28]No one can deny that these are legitimate tongues on the day of Pentecost.

[00:06:33]And what happens? And they all continued in amazement and great perplexity saying to one another, "What does this mean?"

[00:06:39]But others were mocking and saying, "They are full of sweet wine."

[00:06:43]So, they're saying they are challenging these tongues and saying they're just mocking.

[00:06:49]Others are just confused.

[00:06:50]But they're mocking. There are those that are actually mocking. They are full of sweet wine.

[00:06:55]Is this the same as what this person says that this is blasphemy the Holy Spirit? Well, if it is, Peter doesn't say so. As a matter of fact, Peter tries to save them. He says, "But Peter, taking his stand with the 11, raised his voice and declared to them, 'Men of Judea Judea and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and give heed to my words for these men are not drunk as you suppose.'" So, Peter himself does not say you are blaspheming the Holy Spirit. He doesn't say that at all. When someone actually is under the power of the Holy Spirit and you don't either understand it, you deny it, you disagree with it, doesn't seem right or whatever, that is not blasphemy the Holy Spirit. Peter, of all people, would have said so. It's not the case. And then we go to a time where Paul is actually coming to admonish the church for what reason? Well, for this case for spiritual gifts. These are people who are attempting to speak in tongues or something along those lines and Paul is admonishing. Remember the the letter of Corinth 1 Corinthians is a letter of rebuke. It's not a letter of accommodation or congratulations. It's a letter of rebuke. From 1 Corinthians chapter 1 all the way through. He's trying to get them to be unified and they are in this case they are disunified and they're doing it for selfish reasons. They are doing it for the benefit of themselves rather than for the building up of the body. And Paul says, "Now concerning spiritual gifts brethren, I do not want you to be unaware."

[00:08:28]Paul is admonishing. Now, some will say, "Well, yeah, but he's not saying that tongues aren't illegit or legit." That's not what I said.

[00:08:36]But that at least lets us know that you can question tongues. You can question whatever you want. How do we know about that? Because the book of John says so. He says, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God." How do we do so? With the word. And what happens is and this is the part that if you go to say something's blessed with the Holy Spirit, when someone wants to test what it is you're doing with the word.

[00:09:08]Again, people will say test the spirits by the spirit. That's not what the word says. So, when you hear someone say that, that's a person that's ignorant of the word.

[00:09:16]It didn't say that. We test the spirit how? We test it like the Bereans. We go back and check and see. They checked Paul to see if what he was saying was so and what he was saying was under the power of the Holy Spirit. But they still went back and investigated and Paul said that the Bible says they were of noble of more noble character because they went back and investigated. So, you're telling me that if you tell me something is of the Holy Spirit, I wasn't there, but you really want me to believe it.

[00:09:39]I'm not allowed to go back and investigate. I've got to take your word.

[00:09:42]No, you're not God. I'm not I don't know what you're doing. I have no reason to believe that what you do or what you're saying is of the Holy Spirit. As a matter of fact, when something is of the Holy Spirit, don't even the unbelievers know? Don't all the people know? So, if your tongues or your prophecy or your casting out of demons or whatever it is, everyone knows. According to the Bible, every example of it happening, everyone knew, including the unbelievers. And so, if a person were to investigate as they're told to do, and they don't think that what you're doing is true, that's not blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

[00:10:21]Could they be wrong? Sure.

[00:10:23]They could be.

[00:10:24]But like Peter did, you don't say that it's blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. That is irresponsible on your part, and again, ignorant of what blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is.

[00:10:35]It's an intentional act where you know that it's of God, and you intentionally ascribe it to the works of the devil, often for not often, but always for your own selfish motives. Cuz in this case, Jesus was taking or making more disciples than they were.

[00:10:51]That's why. So, when you see these sorts of comments, and I promise you you'll keep seeing these, you'll keep seeing these. It's their way of telling you that this is what It's their way of trying to scare you into believing what they're saying. I don't want to be guilty of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

[00:11:08]And they don't they haven't stepped back and thought about what they said.

[00:11:10]They're telling you that because you don't believe what they said about their tongues, their tongues.

[00:11:17]And because you investigated, you wanted to test the spirits, they're saying you are not saved, nor can you ever be saved. That's not what I'm saying. I'm not saying you can ever be saved. Well, that's what blasphemy of the Holy Spirit requires. You are not saved, and can you can never be saved.

[00:11:32]Reject people who say this sort of foolishness because it's just not biblical. Amen.
