BLUE HAS DEMENTIA & NEUROLOGICAL ISSUESAñadido:
[panting] Hey y'all. I'm just trying to wait to a few more people to come on.
Hey, hey, hey. Thank you for all the your prayers, your thoughts and prayers.
It's it's going to be a journey.
So, um, today I took Blue to the vet as I said I would. And the vet seems to believe that Blue is suffering from dementia, dog dementia, and neurological issues.
So, he has more tests and observations to be done.
But, um, they did blood work, they did all the things today.
And um they seem to believe that he has dog dementia and that's causing a lot of his fears and anxieties, blank stairs, um you know, him being disoriented at times.
Um so yeah, they believe he has dog dementia and neurological issues.
So, um, he has another appointment scheduled in two weeks to go back.
Um, they took him off of his medication because they said, um, they want to see if his medication had something to do with his behavior change.
Um, so he's not no longer on his meds, but they want us to continue with with um his CBD oil and treats.
Um, so that's what I'm going to continue doing.
So, this is all new to me. I never even knew that dogs could get dementia. You know what I'm saying?
like I just that just never occurred to me.
I've never heard of it, but I guess you learn something new every day.
So, yeah, he has um neurological issues and dementia and so Oh, Blue, stop. Blue.
[laughter] >> Hi. How you doing? How are you?
>> Good.
>> Hey, >> come on, Blue.
So, a he he he don't like too many people. That's okay. Come on, Blue. Keep what you want.
>> Uh-huh. Blue.
Blue.
Come on. Just keep on with your walk.
Just keep on with your walk.
>> [sighs] >> But uh so um that's what we have so far. That's what I was told.
Uh of course, Blue has to they also said that right now that Blue needs to remain calm um in quiet environments um and not around a lot of stimulation.
And so that's what I I've been doing.
you, as you can see, I'm taking him on a walk by himself cuz I just he just, you know, he just any little thing can stir him up see just how he just saw, you know, a man and he just kind of, you know, he kind of goes off and he gets fixated on a person.
Um he won't let anybody um it was hard today at the vet because he he kind of wouldn't let the vet uh touch him or or the assistants. It it took a whole lot, you know. Uh they had to put a muzzle on him and they had to sedate him a little and uh Yeah.
It's a lot, y'all. I'm exhausted.
You know what I mean? If you ever went through this, you know how exhausting it can be.
Just just the whole thing. So, keep me in your prayers. Me, Blue, our family, Barkley, Bama, all of us.
Cuz having three dogs and a baby ain't no joke. Come on, Blue. Let's go on back home. Okay.
Good boy. He was a good boy. Come on.
So, so yeah.
So, I don't know y'all.
Blue will be six years old next month.
He'll be six.
So, I'm not sure how old that is in doggy years, but he'll be six years next month. And Barkley will be four years old next month.
So, Barkley and and Blue's birthday are is in May, and Bama's is in um December, right along with mine.
Okay, Blue. Come on. Okay, Blue. That good boy.
You said, "Hey, he saw you." Come on. Come on. He's Yeah. Blue doesn't He don't like many people. I don't know what happened to him. It saddens me because I I I don't know why what has caused him to, you know, be like that. But, well, I'm not going to say he doesn't like many people. He's very protective.
I guess I'm going to say that he's very protective.
I've never had a dog as protective as Blue. He is the best watch dog ever. He can hear a pin drop.
Oh, good boy.
So yeah, you guys, um I'm trying is all I'm saying. I am trying my best to um do what's best for Blue.
I'm exhausted, but I'm trying my best.
And I don't want to give up.
I really don't want to give up.
So, um we're going to see where this goes, this journey goes.
But like I said, he's he's got several more um visits ahead, more scans and procedures and observation. So, so I'm just going to try to keep him as calm and quiet and uh low stimulation.
And I think for a while, um, well, I've always been very watchful between he and Barkclay's interaction, so that's not going to change.
So, I just have to keep a real good eye on on him.
But that's all I have for now, you guys.
I just wanted to come and give you like a update and I'll go back uh live again sometime late this evening um with a little bit more. Okay. Love you. Continue praying for us and um sending your love.
All right.
