From what Paul taught in this text, the order in which this will happen is that first, there will be the revelation of Jesus.

[00:03:57]The word man was translated from the Greek word anthropos.

[00:04:02]a n t h r o p o s anthropos Used either in a singular fashion or in a collective way.

[00:04:16]Every time that word man is used, it can be applied either singular or collective.

[00:04:24]anthropos A more precise translation will have read as the men of perdition.

[00:04:33]men, not man Cuz all we have seen in all the apostolic writings were men.

[00:04:39]So, Paul who taught in all the churches men cannot now come and teach the church in Thessalonians about a man. It will still be men of sin.

[00:04:50]Because the word man there is anthropos, which can be used as singular or collective.

[00:04:58]This will then mean that the men of sin and the men of perdition will be the men he was discussing since chapter 1.

[00:05:08]men of sin, men of perdition Because in 2 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 8, he was speaking of these men being destroyed away from the presence of the Lord because they rejected the gospel.

[00:05:24]He was talking about men. Stay with me.

[00:05:27]2 Thessalonians 1 8 PJ 2 Thessalonians 1 8 and 9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[00:05:46]>> So, in that revelation of Christ, also is the destruction of men who oppose the gospel.

[00:05:55]In that revelation of Christ, at the same time, will be the destruct like it was in the days of Noah.

[00:07:06]The word anthropos will be used in a collective sense, just like it is in Matthew 4:4. "Man shall not live by bread alone."

[00:07:16]He's not talking about a singular individual. He's talking about man as collective man.

[00:07:22]Matthew 4:4. But he answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God.'"

[00:07:39]So, in the light of these, the phrase man of sin in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 should have been more appropriately translated as men of sin. Is it clear?

[00:07:55]Men of sin, not one man.

[00:07:58]Now, but look at another one we need to deal with here. 2 Thessalonians 2:7. PJ, 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 7. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work. Only he who now letteth will let until he be taken out of the way. The word iniquity, translated from a word that refers to a persistent disobedience.

[00:08:29]The use of that word man by the translators is what has given feeling to the thought that there was a man that will be called the Antichrist.

[00:08:40]Who will wield such mystical powers.

[00:08:44]But don't forget the Bible cannot be read in isolation. It must be read together.

[00:08:49]And when we look at the entire framework of the apostolic writings and the teachings of Christ, there was no one man. So, which means this cannot be an exception.

[00:08:59]This cannot be. It's just the use of word there, which is anthropos, which has two meanings, singular and collective, and just common sense tells you what should be there should be men.

[00:09:20]Recall that the revelation again is the revelation of Jesus, not the revelation of the Antichrist.

[00:09:26]The revelation is the revelation of Jesus.

[00:09:29]And in that revelation is the destruction of the men of sin.

[00:09:37]In the parousia will be the destruction of the man of sin.

[00:09:45]The sin is the fact that they oppose the gospel and persecute the preacher.

[00:09:50]That's the sin.

[00:09:52]They reject the gospel and they are persecuting the preachers of the gospel.

[00:09:57]Then the word iniquity was used in Romans 4:7 and Romans 6:19.
