The phrase 'man of sin' in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 should be understood as 'men of sin' (collective) rather than a singular individual, because the Greek word 'anthropos' can be used either singularly or collectively, and throughout Paul's writings, this term consistently refers to groups of people who oppose the gospel and persecute preachers, not a single Antichrist figure.

THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT THIS WHOLE RAPTURE THEORY - DR ABEL DAMINAAdded:
And who shall abide in the day of his coming? He is like a refiner's fire and his sons with his [music] word. They that offer righteousness he shall rebuild and rebuke. As you adhere to his word for the entrance of the word of God gives light to the blind and understanding to the simple. Welcome to his short word channel where you are enlightened to the truth of Jesus Christ. [music] Here, religion is taken away and self is a former thing and only truth remains. Hope your mind is renewed. Amen.
Again, remember that the revelation is the revelation of Jesus.
In the original he is saying first the revelation.
Now, don't forget that the purpose of the two letters are intertwined.
The second letter is really an extension of the first.
So, the revelation he teaches concerning will be seen in 1 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 7.
Let's read it. That's the revelation Paul is emphasizing to the church in Thessalonica. Read for me, PJ. So that you were ensamples to all that believe >> 1 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 7.
Yep. So that you were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
>> must be second. 2 Thessalonians 1:7.
>> [snorts] >> And to you who are troubled rest with us That's right. when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels. When the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels. Read for me verse 9 and 10.
Light of the world.
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power.
10.
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints and to be admired in all them that believe, because our testimony among you was believed in that day.
The church is not giving the revelation of any other person but the revelation of Jesus.
The only revelation given to the church is the revelation of Jesus and nobody else.
The man of sin, the son of perdition. Let's walk there.
The man of sin, the son of perdition.
Second Thessalonians, chapter 2 from verse 1. Let's read it in context, PJ. Let's go.
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints >> Second Thessalonians 2:1, 2:1.
Second Thessalonians, chapter 2 from verse 1. Let's go. Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and by our gathering together unto him. Two.
That ye be not soon shaken in mind or be troubled, neither by spirit nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Verse three.
Let no man deceive you by any means, for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. Four.
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. From what Paul taught in this text, the order in which this will happen is that first, there will be the revelation of Jesus.
First.
And then, the man of sin, the son of perdition.
That man of sin, the son of perdition.
The word man, are you ready?
Let's do word study.
The word man was translated from the Greek word anthropos.
a n t h r o p o s anthropos Used either in a singular fashion or in a collective way.
Every time that word man is used, it can be applied either singular or collective.
anthropos A more precise translation will have read as the men of perdition.
men, not man Cuz all we have seen in all the apostolic writings were men.
So, Paul who taught in all the churches men cannot now come and teach the church in Thessalonians about a man. It will still be men of sin.
Because the word man there is anthropos, which can be used as singular or collective.
This will then mean that the men of sin and the men of perdition will be the men he was discussing since chapter 1.
men of sin, men of perdition Because in 2 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 8, he was speaking of these men being destroyed away from the presence of the Lord because they rejected the gospel.
He was talking about men. Stay with me.
2 Thessalonians 1 8 PJ 2 Thessalonians 1 8 and 9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power.
>> So, in that revelation of Christ, also is the destruction of men who oppose the gospel.
Period.
In that revelation of Christ, at the same time, will be the destruct like it was in the days of Noah.
The day Noah entered the ark and the door was closed was the day destruction happened. Rain started falling.
Are you following?
It's not some hidden rapture then 7 years of tribulation. NO, SIR. THAT'S ANTI-BIBLE.
THAT'S ANTI-BIBLE.
Jesus himself said, "As it was in the days of Noah, so shall be in the days of the Son of Man."
And from all the apostolic writings, there are no two There are There's no rapture, first of all, talk more of two raptures, but there's the resurrection of the dead and the coming of Christ in his saints.
Teaching good?
So, the use of the word man of sin is actually men of sin. It's collective.
And so far in 2 Thessalonians 1, Paul used it not for a singular individual in all of the book. Everywhere he used it, it was for a collective group of people.
The word anthropos will be used in a collective sense, just like it is in Matthew 4:4. "Man shall not live by bread alone."
He's not talking about a singular individual. He's talking about man as collective man.
Matthew 4:4. But he answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God.'"
>> [snorts] >> Then Matthew 4:19. And he said unto them, "Follow me, I will make you fishers of men."
So, in the light of these, the phrase man of sin in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 should have been more appropriately translated as men of sin. Is it clear?
It should be what?
Men of sin, not one man.
Now, but look at another one we need to deal with here. 2 Thessalonians 2:7. PJ, 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 7. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work. Only he who now letteth will let until he be taken out of the way. The word iniquity, translated from a word that refers to a persistent disobedience.
Iniquity, a persistent disobedience.
An opposition to the truth.
The use of that word man by the translators is what has given feeling to the thought that there was a man that will be called the Antichrist.
Who will wield such mystical powers.
But don't forget the Bible cannot be read in isolation. It must be read together.
And when we look at the entire framework of the apostolic writings and the teachings of Christ, there was no one man. So, which means this cannot be an exception.
This cannot be. It's just the use of word there, which is anthropos, which has two meanings, singular and collective, and just common sense tells you what should be there should be men.
Men of sin.
Men of sin.
Recall that the revelation again is the revelation of Jesus, not the revelation of the Antichrist.
The revelation is the revelation of Jesus.
And in that revelation is the destruction of the men of sin.
In the parousia will be the destruction of the man of sin.
The sin is the fact that they oppose the gospel and persecute the preacher.
That's the sin.
They reject the gospel and they are persecuting the preachers of the gospel.
Then the word iniquity was used in Romans 4:7 and Romans 6:19.
iniquity And 2 Corinthians 6:14.
