Is progress actually permanent? Or are we losing ground?Added:
The lie in this country, this United States of America, that progress is permanent.
That once rights are won, they are secure. That once we gained the rights to vote, the fight was over. Women even fell for this lie, that we actually had autonomy over our bodies. But ah ah ah ah ah, history tells a DIFFERENT STORY. THE RIGHT to vote for black people in this country has never been given freely. Was paid for with blood, sweat, tears, bodies in the ground. It has always been contested, resisted, and yes, attacked in multiple ways, on multiple fronts, and that has been unrelenting.
