This video provides a sharp insight into how evolution prioritizes energy efficiency over neural complexity, proving that a "simple" brain is often a perfectly optimized tool for survival. It serves as a humbling reminder that intelligence is an expensive luxury nature happily trades for functional success.

The Insane Biology of the Sea Cow #Marineanimals #Animals #Shorts追加:
As the world's only strictly sea grass eating marine mammal, they have one MO.
To graze their cares away.
These hungry dugongs are semi-nomadic and will travel long distances in search of the very finest sea grass buffets. In Australia, they've been clocked traveling over 600 km.
That would be about the same distance as heading to Paris for a meal if you lived in London.
Then again, can you blame anyone for wanting a French pastry over boiled potatoes?
While dugongs are known for being giants, their brains only weigh a mere fraction of their body weight. About 0.1% of it.
At 300 g, it's only the size of about two small apples and known for being silky smooth.
What is a smooth brain, you ask? Well, it's one that doesn't look all curled and folded like you might usually picture.
The brains of both dugongs and manatees have evolved to these smoother shapes because of their non-predatory and slow-moving lifestyles. Unlike other marine mammals that have more complex folds in their brains, like dolphins and whales, helping them with hunting and sensory processes like echolocation.
But don't let size fool you. Dugongs are known to have good memories and can even log prime feeding areas to come back to them after traveling. [music] Kind of like dropping a pin after visiting your favorite restaurant.
Smart.
