Military artifact collecting involves gathering and preserving historical items such as uniforms, decorations, and personal effects from military personnel, which serve as tangible connections to individual soldiers' experiences and broader historical events. Collectors often research provenance, including unit affiliations, service records, and personal stories behind each item, transforming military artifacts into educational resources that preserve military history and honor those who served.

New Additions To My Military Collection: Part 70Added:
Hey guys. So today I wanted to make a new additions to my collection video for you. It's been several months and so I felt like today's the day. Um I also wanted to say happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. Uh God bless you.
Uh hope you've had a great day. Um today is also my birthday, May 10th. Uh I was born and I'm 40 years old today. And I tell you what, it's hard to believe, you know, that I'm no longer in my 30s, but uh 40 years old. Uh, I thank God for every day that I'm here, for every day that he's given me. And, uh, you know, I just, uh, I look forward to what I can do for him, uh, you know, in the rest of my life, whether I'm here one more year or 50 more years. I just want to please him and make him happy and win souls.
And so, uh, I'm excited to continue to grow spiritually and live for God, as well as continue to collect and, um, share my collection, uh, with you guys.
And so I'm going to go ahead and bring you in and I'm going to show you my new additions.
All right. Table full of stuff. Like I said, it's been, man, I think it's been like four or five months since I made a new additions video. And uh today's the day. So um I'll go ahead and start right here. So I actually got this little grouping here with this this cap, a little bit of paperwork here, and also the jacket underneath. Um, a collector friend reached out to me and he got this uh with a group of items. And this actually belonged to a ninth armored veteran. See, there's the uh the visor cap. And uh there's actually this is um a modified jacket. It does not have a ninth armored patch on it, but the veteran wasn't ninth armored. The buttons have actually been replaced also. But um this veteran, his name was John uh Zettoyer and uh he was actually uh like I said in the Ninth Armored. He was captured during the Battle of the Bulge and he stayed um uh in captivity until I believe it was April or April of 1945. So he spent several months in captivity. Uh and so I got that um for uh it was right at $50 shipping and everything. So I'm thankful to have that in the collection. Um, right down here I got this Harlem Hell Fighters shirt. Um, we uh a few months ago we had a a Black History uh thing at work and everybody, you know, was encouraged to participate and so I got this shirt. Um, I already knew about the Harlem Hell Fighters, but if you uh don't know about them, look them up online. Uh, a lot of courageous acts, a lot of awards and everything during World War I especially. So, definitely look them up. Um, got a couple more jackets here. Uh, this one here is a ninth armored and fourth armored uh, Ike jacket. Um, something interesting. It's got three metal gold bars here for a year and a half of overseas service. So, I thought that was really cool. One three-year enlistment stripe. He was a sergeant and he got the rupture duck for um, honorable discharge. Um, this one right here is not named or anything unfortunately. Uh, I got it on eBay for $73. I wish it was named or had at least a laundry number, but it's still got a lot going for it and I'm happy to have in the collection.
Moving on right here, uh, this was posted on a Facebook group uh, more than once and uh, I was lucky to be the the highest bidder both times and the second time the seller decided to accept my offer. But as you see, it's a ninth armored uh tank destroyer uniform. And it's got US and tank destroyer um collar disc, ruptured duck for honorable discharge, three gold bars, year and a half overseas service. And I like the stitching on the ninth armored patch right there, which is pretty cool. Same thing right here on the tank destroyer.
Um this uh does have a laundry number.
It's uh S1239.
And it actually came with this overseas cap here. And the cap is named to a Richard Smith.
Richard Smith. Other markings in there.
Um, so haven't found him on any rosters yet, but I'm still researching. Um, I got this jacket, excuse me, shipping and everything. It was uh what was this one?
Uh, $149.
Um, you know guys know this or you should if you've been following me.
Ninth Armor stuff is pretty hard to find and when you do find it, you know, you got to uh pay up for it sometimes and and so um I'm thankful to have this in the collection as well. Moving on here, a collector friend sent me an eBay link for this right here. a seller um had this portrait and uh once again ninth armored. I just you guys know how much I love the ninth but um it's got you know the collar disc on there uh a tanker's collar disc uh dis guy. Um on the back here it says copyright 1943 by William J. Zimmerman.
Now, I don't know if the veteran's name's William Zimmerman or if the photographer was. I'm not sure. But, um, something I want to do is take the back off of this and see if maybe there's a name or information on the back of the picture itself. But, got this on eBay.
Shipping and everything. It was uh $34, which I think I did pretty good on that.
Right here, I've got like a little picture grouping. Um, most of this looks like it's going to be post World War II.
um probably 1950s. Uh got this with it.
This is from 1949.
Um there's also some other uh pictures and stuff in here um from a different island or something overseas somewhere. Um but uh this was actually in the garbage. Uh it was with a bunch of trash and stuff. I just happened to ride by and I stopped and looked and got it. I was like, man. So, saved it from the landfill. Um, so thankful to save that history. Moving on. Right here, um, I answered a Facebook Marketplace, um, or actually reached out on the Facebook Marketplace listing. And long story short, I got these dog tags here to a William Sutton.
Trying to get it to focus. And um, these are from 1943. I don't know if it's going to focus or not, but next of Ken dog tags, but I got these. And I also got this World War I wound badge. Never had one of these before, but it's overall pretty good condition.
So, the World War II dog tags and the World War I uh wound badge. Sorry about that. And um I got it for um I got the dog tags for 30 and the wound badge was 50. I've never collected something like this and honestly I I think I overpaid a little bit in this condition. is probably worth maybe $30 to $40, but um so I may have over excuse me, may have overpaid a little bit, but never had one, so now I do.
Right here, um I picked up a piece of furniture other day and uh I heard something in it and it was actually this 1943 steel wheat penny. As you guys know, during the war, they needed copper for the war effort. And so, in 1943, they made steel pennies. And this one was in just a piece of furniture I got.
So, there's a lady that owns a um a gold and platinum store just less than a mile down the street from my house. And sometimes I get things and I'll take it in there and have her test it, see if it's real, and weigh it and maybe buy it from me. And I also ask her about military stuff because people bring stuff in. So, I got these six items here. I got five sterling uh wings. And then I also got these paratrooper wings right here, which is really awesome. And um you see they're marked sterling on the back. Again, sorry about the camera trying to focus. Sometimes I'll wait a minute. But so anyway, so these master jump wings, which is really awesome. Very, very cool. So, I got those and then like I said, all these other wings here.
So, I got all six of them for $160.
Uh, she sells stuff you not for collector value, but she sells it, you know, because, uh, based off the silver content and the weight. And so, uh, she told me 160 for all of them. And I think that was a great deal because, again, they're all sterling silver. And so, I'm happy to have this little grouping of wings to add to my collection.
Not too long ago, I was riding by and saw some stuff being thrown away. And I actually grabbed this uh casket flag case that was being thrown away. I'll put a flag in it that I have. Also got a couple movies here. Midway, we know that's a great war movie and It's a Wonderful Life. That's a masterpiece there. VHS, which are kind of cool. Um, you know, I've got a lot of old war movies on VHS and different things. I got this M1 Carbine Sling and just a group of random items, and so I thought that was pretty cool. So, I got a spare.
A collector friend of mine reached out and he had this u this cap here for it belonged to Herman Radson and he was actually a ninth armored veteran and he was a P. He was a prisoner of war for several months and he offered this to me and uh I bought it and um what did I pay for that thing? I got it for $75 shipped and everything. So, I thought that was really cool. It does have a lot going for it. It's got the little mini purple heart metal and different things. So, that's really cool. I got this right here on eBay recently, 16th Armored Field Artillery. So, that was a unit within the 9th. And this is a 1989 reunion uh booklet. And it's got uh the different veterans who attended and it was in Pennsylvania, October of 1989.
And again, the the veterans and spouses or family members that attended and just other pictures from the reunion and everything. So, that was really cool.
I had um a person through Instagram uh message me and they actually got this paperwork from the 9inth Armored Headquarters and also this uh postcard here. And there's the Ludenorf Bridge remains right there and uh they sent this to me for free and so I really appreciate them for doing that. Thank you um for sending [clears throat] that to me. Last thing I got here for you, I got this off eBay. This is a 52nd Armored Infantry Battalion Headquarters um paper here. And excuse [clears throat] me, a little bit of a cough. And um it's actually got a roster of some men here. And look what it's dated June 6th of 1944, which the 9th Armor, they were not overseas at that time. But um it's got a a list of I think probably close to 50 men or so, 50 to 60 men who were in the 52nd Armored Infantry Battalion of the 9th Armored.
So, I'm trying to get more of these rosters and everything. I'm kind of putting together um I like a mini museum, I guess you could say. But, a lot of good stuff going on. A lot of fun. Um spending time with the family.
Um you know, this year I've really been working on myself spiritually as well.
Just want to make God happy and my life be a reflection of having God in my life. Not only pray and read the word, but obey it, live it, and everything.
And so, um I love life. I love everybody. Um, if you need anything from John Boy, you need any prayer or encouragement, just reach out to me. I hope you guys like these new additions.
Uh, y'all keep encouraging me to make videos and I'll keep doing so. But, um, anyways, I love all of you. God bless and I'll be getting back to you soon.
Thank you.
