Epictetus Was a Slave Who Understood Freedom Better Than Anyone

[00:00:32]When you lose your mind over something outside your control, you've handed your freedom to that thing.

[00:00:38]That rude driver owns you now.

[00:00:40]The slow internet connection owns you.

[00:00:44]Epictetus called that slavery.

[00:00:46]And he knew what slavery was.

[00:00:48]You are free the moment you decide that your response, not the event, is what you're responsible for.
