The report poignantly illustrates how grassroots solidarity transcends sectarian divides when formal political structures fail. It serves as a sobering reminder that in a fractured state, human empathy is often the only functional safety net remaining.

Lebanon’s Christians support displaced amid ceasefire uncertainty • FRANCE 24 EnglishAdded:
In Beirut, the center has become a hub for those displaced by the war.
People come here seeking help, but also a moment of respite.
At the Catholic Youth Circle, everything is organized in advance. Each family is identified and their needs are recorded.
Our social worker and young volunteers contacted all the families, so we know what each one needs. We're helping about 600 in all, handing out hygiene kits, food packages, and medicines. If needed, we provide clothing and blankets, too.
This aid is essential in a context where needs are skyrocketing. Among the displaced is Andreas, a 73-year-old from Qawzah, a Christian village on the southern Lebanese border. He fled with his family, leaving everything behind.
The bombings were very violent and frightening. Many houses in our village were destroyed. We can't return home. It was a tragedy for everybody.
We pray for their safety, that no harm comes to them.
But in these border villages, civilians remain on the front lines. In Debel, George Said and his son Edy were killed while returning from work. Their car targeted by Israeli army fire.
Speaking to France 24, his two other sons shared their testimony.
For me, there are three responsible parties.
Hezbollah, which dragged us into a war that is not ours, and this isn't the first time.
The Israeli army, which showed no humanity. My father and brother were unarmed.
And the Lebanese government did nothing for the south or for the Christian villages.
People are no longer in their villages.
They can't move freely because they need authorization from the Israeli economy.
You're on your land, but at the same time you're not.
A tragedy that goes beyond a single family. In the border villages, the shadow of occupation resurfaces, along with a deep uncertainty about the future of southern Lebanon.
