During a traffic stop, law enforcement officers can discover and execute outstanding warrants for individuals, even when the person was not the driver of the vehicle. In this case, a passenger (Diamond Wynn) was arrested for a family violence warrant while the driver received only a citation for window tint violations. The warrant was confirmed by the Cab County Sheriff's Office, and the individual was taken into custody to appear before a judge the following morning. This demonstrates that traffic stops can serve as opportunities for law enforcement to identify and address outstanding legal matters, regardless of who is operating the vehicle.

She Wasn’t Driving… But Her ID Got Her ArrestedAdded:
Hey, how you doing?
>> Hey, good. How about yourself?
>> Good, good, good. Can I see your driver license, please, sir? Yes, sir.
>> All right. Appreciate it. All right.
>> I can't complain. Thank you.
>> Still live in Stag Drive, sir.
>> Um, actually just moved.
>> Okay, cool. The reason I stopped you, okay, a couple things. When you're coming out of a private business entrance, whatever into the roadway, you take a right into the first lane.
>> Okay.
>> You mean where you were parked?
>> No, no, no, no, no.
>> When you came out of the gas station and took a right, >> instead of getting into the first closest lane to your right, you came over to the middle lane.
>> Okay.
>> Okay. Second thing, that tag cover that you got on the back of the car, that's a dealer tag cover. It's illegal in the state of Georgia. Okay. You can't have that cuz it can't obstruct any portion of that tag. All right, cool deal. Any weapons or anything in the vehicle? No, sir.
>> Okay. Can you just raise my >> her car? Okay, cool.
>> That's good right there. Cool.
All right. Do you know the legal limit in the state of Georgia?
>> 32.
>> Okay. So, it's at 15.
>> Oh, >> yeah. So, it is legal. All right.
>> Yeah. Just Just get pull the back one down. I can check the back one, too.
>> That's good right there. Last seen.
What's your badge number?
>> All right. 15% as well.
>> Wow. I don't like that.
>> Yeah. So, legal limit in the state of Georgia is 30 32% or higher, you're good. 32% or lower, we give you up to 29%. 3% up or down. So, we give you up to 39 uh 29%. Okay. But 15%, you got to take care of that. You have your ID with you, man.
All right. Cool. Just give me a second.
I'll be back with you guys. All right.
Thank you. Appreciate it. Thank you.
630 698. All right. So, here's the of all those violations. I'm going just give you a window tent ticket. Okay.
>> Okay.
>> That's it. Um, what's your what's your current address?
>> Do you um mind if I see the tag?
>> The tag? Yeah, I'll show you how.
>> Yeah, I'll show you in a second. Yeah.
Yeah. What's your current address?
>> You got to speak a little louder. Sorry, ma'am.
>> Our second day here. Let me look for you.
>> It's just next door.
>> Okay. Uh, is it the Silver Oaks? Which apartment number?
in his >> No. How did you get that number? No, that's not it. It's um >> Yeah, we get all kinds of stuff, man.
>> Okay, come on out. I'll show you the tag.
>> Okay, >> you see that Curry Honda tag right there?
>> Mhm. Okay. You see how it's slicing off half Georgia on there? Nothing can obstruct any portion of that tag. Curry Honda's going to put that on for you. So you >> It's really like more PC, I guess, if anything.
>> Well, it's obstructing that tag, right?
>> We need to be able to clearly see the tag. Curry Honda's going to put over there advertise. You're going to free advertise for them, but it's legal in the state of Georgia.
>> Okay. You can't put a tent tick cover on there. You can't put none of that stuff on there. Gotcha.
>> Okay. So, it's a quick fix. Just unscrew, take it off. I'm not giving you a ticket for that.
>> All right. So, just give me a second.
I'll be back with you. All right.
>> Okay. Yeah. I'm actually an ex lieutenant, but I never worked on the streets.
>> From where?
>> Rockdale.
>> Rockdale?
>> Mhm.
>> Okay.
>> I never worked on the street.
>> Well, you worked at jail.
>> I did.
>> You post certified?
>> No.
>> No. No. You didn't. Okay. You just you didn't go >> certified. Jiller school, but I'm not post certified.
>> Okay. Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> Um, yeah. I got fired for whacking somebody in their [ __ ] but >> n sometimes you got to do that, man.
But, you know, >> my finger.
>> Well, yeah. I mean, that's that's crazy.
>> Kill him.
Well, I mean, hey, I mean, >> you got to defend yourself.
>> Okay. You never You never tried to go back.
>> No, I can't. Well, I I would have to like get it like appealed, go do like post cancel and, you know, do all that good stuff. I just never really >> So, what they they revoked your >> um certification?
>> They did.
>> I mean, I seen people's stuff revoked, but you can still >> Yeah, they pretty much told me 200 bucks to get it, but I mean, I just It kind of scarred me, man.
>> Yeah. I mean, it's it's >> I was hurt by that, but >> yeah, do it long long enough, it's going to >> you get a couple lawsuits and you stuff.
It just it's part of the game.
>> Yeah, I did it from 18 to about 28, >> so I was pretty young and lieutenant.
>> See?
>> Yeah. I got you, buddy.
>> Give me a second. Right.
>> Sure. Take a >> Y.
VP, did dispatch say anything? No.
I I [ __ ] looked it up, too. She She has a woman.
>> Let's go. Right.
>> Simple assault. I mean, family.
>> She's She's in the presidency.
>> Yeah.
>> Does she know?
>> Not yet.
>> Yeah.
>> He said he was an ex lieutenant Rockdale city.
>> Rockdale Sheriff's Office in in the jail, not postcertified.
>> Oh. Oh, wow.
>> Yeah. So 619 radio. Any updates?
>> 619. Go ahead.
>> 104. Any updates on the code for status?
>> Is a valid warrant confirmed out of DSL by Dicks DIX?
>> 104.
I mean, it's like, were you going to tell me?
I mean, you know what I mean?
>> Yeah.
>> I was like, were you going to say anything?
>> All right, ma'am.
>> So, did you have some kind of altercation >> domestic?
>> Okay. So, you're coming back with a active warrant which the Cap County confirmed for simple assault family violence.
>> Okay.
>> What's What's the status with that? Do you Did you >> They called me once and they never finished.
>> They did what? Sorry, ma'am. They detective caught me once. We talked about it in >> He didn't tell you he was going to put a warrant on for for you >> cuz I just checked it and they just actually right now just let me know on the radio that >> you have a confirmed warrant out of the cab county sheriff's office for simple assault family violence.
>> Okay. So here at this point it's out of my hands. I got to take you into custody because the the camp sheriff's office wants you. Okay. That's it's it's one of those things where it's nothing personal. Nothing I can do about it.
It's an act of war with them.
>> Okay. So far, >> not tonight cuz it's um family violence.
So, she's going to have to see a judge in the morning. There's no there's no judge overnight essentially. You know what I mean? So, 8:30, 9:00, I'm guessing is >> Mind if I call my mom?
>> Yeah. Go ahead. How did they do that without um like any type of evidence?
>> You know, honestly, if I told you I'd be lying to you. I don't know cuz everyone operates differently. Like the way I get a warrant, even though the system is kind of you've been in the jail, you've worked it. It's the same, right? But some some detectives >> do, you know, look into the case and say, you know what, now I need some some detectives is just, hey, this is what she said. I don't know the I don't know the circumstances around the case, right? And they go by off that. I mean, I don't know what the conversation with her and the detective was.
>> Um, as far as Hey, >> what pretty much happened was she got >> that was it.
>> Was it did they live together or it was a family or how was it?
>> 521. Nothing, you know, heard 1025.
>> So, I'm 1025 on all family violence. So, I don't know what the conversation detect the the detective should have told you, hey, well, you know what? I'm going to get a warrant. You need to turn yourself in, right? Cuz I've done that before and I've called somebody said, "Hey, instead of getting caught, you know, this time of morning, you know, driving around when it's inconvenient, I'm going to warn you. Come turn yourself in." And you know what I mean?
This is So, but if he didn't do that, I don't know what, but they just Yeah, dispatch just let me know right now that they the Cab County had confirmed it in this family violence. So, um, you're going to go into custody. You have no charges on us. So, my partner is going to drive you and drop you off right then and there. And then in the morning when you see, you know, a judge will probably 8:30, 9:30, depends on the court system.
>> Yeah. Yeah. They I mean, it's not something that's >> So, but then after we bond yourself out, they're going to give you a court date.
Obviously, you get a lawyer, whatever you want to do on that end of it, right?
or you know I don't know the situation between you said your brother's girlfriend >> you know what the situation is between you guys you know maybe she might say I'm gonna drop the charge >> that's funny cuz I mean they're now >> yeah so maybe you know after you get out of jail tomorrow so you know I mean I I would I you wouldn't you know I wouldn't recommend you contacting but contact your brother and say hey what's the deal he says no we don't want it get a hold of the detective and you know say hey or right now it's the prosecutor contact the district DA's office in the cap county and say hey she can contact and say hey I was the victim in this case I don't want to prosecute and they kind of do that but right now as of right now they've confirmed a warrant so you got to go all right >> all right just I mean I wouldn't take anything with you could take your phone right but I wouldn't take anything else cuz it's the cap county it's not the best of jails things get lost things get you know what I mean yeah anything valuable I would hold on with them. Um, just have your ID and you can take your phone. I would turn your phone off just to keep charge cuz they'll let you there's a there's a section in there when after they fingerprint you and all that stuff, they'll let you call somebody and get numbers out of your phone so your phone battery doesn't die out.
>> So, as far in the morning go as far as >> contact the capso contact the cap county jail.
>> I would go to like a court.
>> Yeah. You know, going to go to the front cuz they'll tell you. Okay. Well, she has to count >> and Yeah. It's It's unfortunately the system's so backwards over there. But I would just honestly I would wait till about noon cuz by that time hopefully she sees she she sees the judge and they settle out, right? And then called the Cab County Jail intake and say, "Hey, this her name this her birthday. What's the status?" And they'll say, "Uh, call back in an hour. She's still in court or her bond is set. You go bond her out."
And then just go up to the Memorial Drive and bond her out that way. But don't I mean give it about 8 hours or so because it take a little bit to book in and all that stuff. So I mean it's 1:00 now. Yeah. So by the time you get booked in and stuff you'll be ready for court in the morning hopefully. And um but yeah it's unfortunately I mean nothing I can do about it. It's just what they want. Right. So um whenever you're ready just step on out please.
>> Um what about this little thing that I have on right here?
>> I don't know what that is.
>> It's like a body shape.
>> That's okay.
>> That's fine. Yeah.
>> And what about my wrinkles?
>> Yes.
>> Yeah. Then you think >> they going to make me take them out, right?
>> If so, they'll put them on your property.
>> Yeah, they'll put on your property.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They go the female is going to search you there and they'll they'll direct you on what to do with that. Yeah. Probably take you into a restroom, change it out. You know what I mean?
>> So, yeah. I mean, you have nothing in under there, right? Like, >> no, it's just this.
>> Okay. All right. Cool. Yeah, we're good.
Yeah.
Any problem with your arms, shoulders, anything?
>> No.
>> You got my cuffs, right?
>> I'll put those in there.
>> Okay.
I'll just double double cuff for her that way.
>> Do you know my number?
>> No, I don't know it.
>> You got it on the phone?
>> Yes.
>> Well, they're going to let her use her phone. So, that's why I say turn off your phone.
>> I talk to her later.
>> Save the battery cuz when you need it, you need it.
>> Okay.
Give me just one second. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. I'll let you give her a hug and kiss her. Yeah. Give me a second.
All right.
I'm going double cuff you. Okay.
>> Okay.
Just palms facing each other. There you go.
>> 619 one in custody.
>> 619.
Uh, give me light.
There you go. All right. Come back with this officer here.
>> Do I need you?
>> Actually, come on out.
>> Huh?
>> Give me a second.
>> In my back pocket.
>> Where?
>> Right here.
>> You have anything else in it?
>> No, that's it.
>> I'll give you her ID. I have her ID. She just want to give her a hug and all that.
561 a vehicle theft in progress at the 24hour corner.
>> Which side you want her on that side right there?
>> Suspect in the black veil.
>> I'm I'm going to do the jail ticket right quick.
>> Put the handgun complained about subject on the side of the building. There is a sign that says no trailer trucking.
All right, sir. Window tail violation.
Okay. 15% front driver side window. If you want to take it off and come to court July 8th, >> 5:30, City of Clarkson, I tell everyone, take it off, bring it to court, show it to the judge.
>> They usually handle, help you out with it.
>> Okay. So, >> now let me ask you this.
>> Yes, sir.
>> I'm assuming this is addressed to me since I'm the driver.
>> Yes, sir.
>> Okay.
>> Okay. Um, but you know, she takes care of it. Bring it. bring it to court and um we go that way. Okay. By signing this, you're not admitting to guilt. You're just saying you're going to receive the copy. Okay. You you can sign it with your fingertip right there.
>> Everything. So, check it out.
>> Yeah. It's all you know. Here's your driver's license here. Do you have any questions for me?
>> Um no, sir. Okay.
>> I hate that happen to her.
>> Yeah. Unfortunately, I mean, it's it's they confirmed, so we can't >> I know she's scared. Never been in trouble before.
>> Yeah. We can't do anything. You know, once they confirm it's, you know, out of our hands kind of. But um yeah, we'll be she'll be on her way and get it down there and get her out. Okay.
>> All right, man. Have a safe night, please. I appreciate it.
>> Yep. No problem.
>> PD or do you have form?
>> No, the form the forms that in your It should be online in your email.
>> The GCIC entry form.
>> [ __ ] >> Yeah, I think I have it there, right?
Yeah.
>> Yo, we did it last time, remember?
>> Yeah. No, I just had to fill it out.
>> Fill it out.
>> Scan it and fax it and email it to them >> with a copy of the police report.
>> Yeah. Which, give me a second after this.
>> After this, I'm going to go over there with you.
>> That way I can approve the report, print it out for you.
>> And yeah, it's pretty sign. I just got to It's just muscle memory.
>> Yeah. No, fill out the report. You know what I mean? So that way you can fax that stuff.
>> Yeah. So we can have it entered and >> yeah, fill out the uh the little sheet or whatever. Not little sheet sheet. Oh.
Oh [ __ ] Oh shit's on.
>> What What you doing? always doing. She got she got the little suction cup.
I'm >> trying to I'm trying to catch up to Brown >> probably leave the whole damn apartment to be honest.
>> Just keep it just keep it real.
>> It ain't me.
>> No, he stopped now.
>> He stopped.
>> Oh, he stopped.
>> What do you mean, man?
>> At some point. Yeah, man. just like I asked someone for um a suspended license but remember the code section reads right I was like you know what he didn't know plus it was his wife's said all right just just advis your wife >> what >> the suspended tag >> registration >> yeah yeah >> registration did you know your your license keep saying license your tag was registration suspended said no this this my wife's car I was like oh okay I was like He had he had on the phone. I was like, "Ma'am, be advised. It's coming back suspended in my system. So, get in touch with DMV or whatever you do.
>> Have a good day."
>> Exactly.
It's It's funny how they confirm the warrant and never tell me. I'm just sitting here.
>> Yeah. just like >> twiddling on my thumb trying to figure out >> like waited for like 5 to 7 minutes. I mean I'm like we have it on our computer. I'm like it's right not you know not confirmed but >> see that's why always do your own confir stuff in the computer >> cuz look if I did not check there it should have been gone.
>> Yeah. Yeah. That's why that's why even though I I see it as just a habit I like for them to tell me as well.
>> But hey I just I just need to hear from you too.
>> I don't man. on 1048.
>> You know what that mean that confir that that confuses them more than I mean >> next thing you know everyone's on the radio saying >> uh I'm not sure 10 especially these dispatchers today >> bro like >> uh what's your uh what's your number >> sir >> she said it like 109 >> roadista road >> yeah you know number only >> yeah they keep saying my ear no it's mine for it.

>> Uh, the cab. So, >> yeah. She said basically the dude that was with her was her man. They were at a family at the >> basically father-in-law's house in the brother's um girlfriend started mouthing to her and got in her face. So she >> she cracked her in the face >> and that was it. And then she said a detective called me but never >> um >> never told you >> never followed up and said you know. So she said uh I thought I was you know and she said me and the girl are good now.
Hey, I mean, you know, I mean, honestly though, it hates that. I mean, you you you know, too. I hate to say it. They don't got to tell you they're taking another one on you.
