[00:03:20]Now, you might notice that even though the K9 unit's job is to find scent evidence, what they do find instead, what they notice are the reading materials and the images on the bedside table. In his book, The Truth of the Lie, Detective Omar zeros in on this on this specific moment, highlighting something only a detective who has gone through a revolving door of crime scenes would notice. I got nightmares in my head. I feel my mind feels like a creature haunts me so much.

What is extraordinary is that during this very early period in May when investigators were still searching the surrounding area for Medlin and and then you even had paid searchers coming from as far away as South Africa to look for their little girl Jerry was blogging. Now it started on the day after Medeline's birthday, May 13th. Look where we are in real time right now, May 11th. So 2 days from now, 19 years ago, that was when the blogging started. And this was 10 days after the incident. An official website had been set up, and on that site were banking details and a carefully bulleted list of the Find Medel's uh funds objectives. 2 days later, a trademark for Medlin's fund was filed. On the 19th of May, the website republished a news story exclaiming excitedly about getting the website getting 97 million hits. The daily blogging seemed to start shortly after realizing that the website had accred 97 million hits on May 20th to be precise.

[00:05:47]And then the blogging started on May 20th going through the daily routine.

[00:05:53]Now, I could take you further through these blog posts, but I see we already passed 5 minutes. And since I've only have a 10-minute time limit on your attention spans, not yours, but the average attention span. And based on what this guy said, I need to try harder to limit video length to just 10 minutes. Well, why don't I just do that?

[00:06:42]There is a little bit of negligence from the parents leaving. Uh but I'm I'm very surprised. This is uh it's a strange case. Now how come a child uh disappears suddenly from an apartment? I'm still very stunned for what's happened.

[00:07:05]But for now, let's focus ourselves on what Amarel observes in that villa. And this really is quite fascinating. It's the sort of chalk and cheese psychology going on in the same room. Simply based on the contents of the room, what is on each bedside table and what is on the wall writes quite intuitively in my opinion is that he sees the father and mother reacting very differently to the trouble that has befallen them. Not just that, but the police are also acting very differently.

[00:07:37]If you think about it, although both parents were made guidos, one gets the lion share of attention. The police very definitely believe one parent is more responsible for what happened to Meline at a particular time. We have a similar situation in the Ramsay case. One parent, it seems like the grand jury feel is more responsible for what happened and for that matter the police.

[00:08:04]Now, if more than one crime was committed here, and that's just an assumption, am I right in saying the cops seem to feel Kate is responsible for the more serious offense, whatever it is? Now, just based on what the cops find in the couple's bedroom in the villa, Omar notes the following. Jerry McCann's current reading material, The Interpretation of Murder by Jed Rubenfeld, Spirit Messenger by Gordon Smith, It's Not About the Bike, My Journey Back to Life by Lawrence Armstrong. That's a book I've also read.

[00:08:38]All of that leaves nothing at all to the imagination about the drama the family is living through. But there are also additional reading materials that stop the cops in their tracks. And we saw that in that video that we saw at the beginning. With amazement, the police officers discover a series of books and manuals exclusively intended for police services and government agencies.

[00:09:03]And they are titled number one, Missing and Abducted Children, a law enforcement guide to case investigation and program management national center for missing and exploited children. Then there's another one, training courses, CEO, Serious Organized Crime Agency, Child Exploitation and Online Protection Center. Then there's another one, Making Every Child Matter Everywhere, CEO P, Serious Organized Crime Agency. Now, one obvious reason Jerry might be reading these governmentissued manuals is so that he can both anticipate the course of the investigation before it happens, but also perhaps seconduess or criticize certain aspects, certainly if they fail to materialize. Omar goes on to write, Mark Harrison himself, who's from Leicester, wonders how Gerald McCann could have obtained these books. Now that is the intrigue from the one side of the bed. What about the other? Well, according to Omarel, Kate seems to be in mourning. Numerous photos of Meline are pinned to the wall or placed on her bedside table space between them as though watching over the child's soul. A representation of a saint, a crucifix or a rosary can be seen. Now, it's not hard to see what the detective is insinuating, right? He seems to be suggesting firstly that Kate knows Meline isn't coming back. That's how he sees it. Also, he feels that Kate could be in mourning because she must know, he thinks that perhaps Meline has died despite what they are writing to the public on their blog. And this is what they're writing. In their very first entry, it ends off with 2330 bed and prayer for Meline that she will be returned to us safely ASAP. We try to watch the main news early morning and late evening, but have had almost no time to read the newspapers or even look at the pictures. Kate is a keen runner and in the last few days has tried to include a run in the daily routine.

[00:11:03]Yesterday, Saturday, at 7:00 a.m., we ran to the monument at the top of the steep cliff overlooking Pride Deluge. We reached it in 19 minutes. Now, if the McCain's genuinely believe on day 17, May 20th, that Meline was still out there, why through the course of their day, this day or any other day for that matter, why aren't they looking for her?

[00:11:27]Remember, the Ramsy seemed also to be more certain than anyone else that John Bernet was kidnapped. So certain that they forgot to really search for her as well. Amarel also suggests that it's not just mourning going on and more mourning I guess from Kate's side of the room than Jerry's, but he seems to think that it could be guilty knowledge if I'm understanding what he's getting at cuz he writes as well, a bookmark bearing the effigy of a saint is slipped into a copy of the Bible opening the second book of Samuel chapter something where the following verses can be read. I have sinned against the Lord. The Lord forgives you. You will not die. But because you have shown such contempt for the Lord, in doing this your child will die. Then Nathan went home. The Lord caused the child that Uriah's wife had born to David to become very ill. David prayed to God that the child would get well. How can we tell him that his child is dead? He might do something. He might do some harm. When David noticed them whispering to each other, he realized that the child had died. So he asked them, "Is the child dead?" "Yes, he is," they answered. David got up from the floor, had a bath, combed his hair, and changed his clothes. Then he went and worshiped in the house of the Lord.

[00:12:40]Pretty much the same thing that the Macccans did. Now, there's more in those verses, but remember, we have that 10minute time limit, and we're already well over it. Now, if Jerry was blogging, Kate McCann was also writing in her diary. Particularly interesting entry is what Kate writes about May 4th, her first visit to the police when she gives her statement. The problem is that, you know, the authorities and people in Mwarm helped and looked to start with, but the police haven't been doing anything since about 3:00 in the morning. There's a police car sitting there, but nobody's out looking. They really need help out there.
