True biographical cinema requires the courage to explore a subject's shadows, not just their spotlight. This analysis rightly exposes how a sanitized narrative of victimization fails to capture the profound complexity of Michael Jackson’s humanity.

I Saw The Michael Jackson Movie…Everyone Is WRONG About ThisAdded:
I saw the new Michael Jackson movie because I don't trust anyone online who talks about it. There's a consortium of critics and fans going to war with each other over this film. Critics are saying, "No, no, no. This Michael Jackson is propaganda. We need to see MJ our wording kids. That's a real film."
And then fans saying, "No, MJ was 100% innocent. And we only want to see the good side of MJ in this. Otherwise, anything else is garbage. The media is lying about MJ. This is BS." I'm like, "Oh, you know what? Y'all of stupid.
Twitter's not a real place. It's garbage. Everyone's sigh up on there or dumb. IQ's are being lowered. I'm going to watch this myself. People are saying it's either really amazing or absolute trash. There's no in the middle. There's no room for nuance. There's no centrist position. Otherwise, you're called the coward. No. F all that. F all that. I'm going to give the most objective take on this movie ever you ever seen in your life. Cuz I'm so objective. I've done all the research on MJ, his cases, his allegations. I'm a fan of his music at the same time. All right. I'm a fan of MJ. I'm going to give you the most objective take ever. I'm judging this purely as a [ __ ] film and not what I want to see or expect. I don't have any expectations for this film now.
Everyone's glazing it. Everyone's hating it. I don't give a [ __ ] Controversy from this comes from mostly mostly from the allegations against him. All right.
The diddy the diddler allegations.
Neverland ranch type [ __ ] Here here's my stance. Okay, before I get into the movie, here's my stance. A good biopic will address the dark parts of the person they're covering too. The good and the bad. That's what it does.
Whether you like it or not, the the best biopics do that. And I hate musical biopics. I don't give a [ __ ] about them personally. But if I'm judging it objectively, a good biopic will do that.
They won't just glaze the guy. They'll address the good and the bad. They'll address everything as objectively as they can. Now, I've heard that there's a sequel to this film coming out. This movie made so much money. Of course, this would be a it'd be a no-brainer.
I've heard that the sequel will lean into the latter half of his life. Now, will they lean into the crux of the allegations and all that? I don't know.
I don't know because the estate, Michael Jackson's estate has a lot to do with the production of this. Are they really going to get into it? Or are they just going to kind of glaze him throughout this and try to make it seem like, okay, no, no, no. Michael Jackson was innocent the whole time and show him stressing out, but they're never going to really get into it. They're never really going to get into it. Am I supposed to trust that they're making a movie that will really delve into it? I don't know. But I can't say anything about that because I haven't seen it. That's for the future. I'm going into this assuming this is an incomplete story. This is one part of a two-parter because that's what I'm being told. There's a sequel that's going to address him. So, that's what I'm going into this film for. If there is no sequel, then yes, I will say this biopic did not flesh out Michael Jackson and his career in his life enough. But I'm assuming there is. I'm going to be fair. I'm a fair man. You that you can call me whatever you want. Skitso Coke kid who wears a mask and can't be trusted. I don't give a [ __ ] You can't say I'm an unfair man. If you are going in here expecting, we need to look at the allegations. We need to know if he was hanging out with Epstein and kids.
You're going to see this film as propaganda cuz this film does not showcase any barely anything like that.
This is really about the triumph of Michael Jackson more than anything else.
Here's what I'm going to say. This is a very enjoyable film. It is an enjoyable film. I'm not going to act like I was hating. I was like, "Oh my god, man. How dare we glaze a potential maybe arbor?"
No, no, no. I enjoyed the film. I did it. In the first half, I was like, "Okay, we're getting into this. It's the typical predictable thing they're doing.
We're seeing MJ being abused and victimized and then we're going to see him triumph." But then as the movie goes on, you're like, "Okay, you know what?
I'm okay with this. I like this." If you love his music, if you loved MJ, if you want a feel-good film, if you are there with friends and you're cheering something on, if you like concerts, you're going to love this film. This is going to be quite the experience. I know friends who, first of all, have never believed in the allegations at all. But even besides that, they're like repeat watching this for three, four times in a row. No wonder this movie is making so much money. I'm not doing any of that [ __ ] But here are the pros and cons.
Pros.
Jafar Jackson, the nephew of MJ.
This dude's amazing as MJ, okay? He's genuinely great. There are scenes where I'm like, "Yeah, that's MJ. That's MJ.
He dances well. He sings well. I don't know if he's actually singing in this."
And his voice, my god, man. The voice. I got whiplashed from the voice because the movie starts out you seeing him as a kid and he's he's got a normal kid voice and then you flash forward like a decade later and you see his voice and I I almost laughed.
It's like that kind of voice, right? But I was like I was I laughed cuz I was like what the [ __ ] is this? But I'm like that's MJ's voice. He's doing MJ's. I couldn't tell if I hated the impersonation of MJ MJ's voice at first, but I was like I was like, "No, no, no.
That's MJ. That's Michael Jackson. That really is Michael Jackson." Another standout is Joseph Jackson. Joe Jackson, his dad, who's abusive to him. You see the abuse. This guy is unsettling to watch. He's very, very good. He's unsettling to watch, but he's really funny at the same time. You see his reactions to [ __ ] You see his reactions to to people, to things that MJ's doing.
This guy was unintentionally kind of hilarious at times because of his reaction, but that his facial expressions are so good. He plays the controlling father figure archetype so well. He's really great in it. I will say though, there are some cartoony moments with him and like, for example, Dawn King. They're having a meeting and they're sounding like James Bond villains. Like, is Michael going to be there?
If Michael ain't there smoking cigars? You have moments like that where, okay, clearly one dude's a villain and one dude's a hero in this film. Like, they're not they're being brazen about it, but the the performances are all around are good.
Miles Teller plays like I think MJ's attorney. I wish he had more. Who the [ __ ] keeps messaging me on Discord? I wish he had more scenes. I really do wish he had more scenes because him and MJ have my favorite one of my favorite scenes when there there's like this business meeting with him and his lawyers. I really like their scenes together. Miles Teller is great in this.
This movie does a great job at recreating events, different performances. The thriller [ __ ] the way the thriller music video is, it's exactly like how I remembered it when I when I watched the music video for the first time. It's great. It's really, really good. He's he does a great job at replicating MJ and so does everyone involved in this the concert experience.
There are scenes where even I as someone who look, I'm not going to act like I'm the biggest MJ fan, but I'll be real. I was like, "Yeah, yeah." When the music kicks, when Billy Jean kicks, right, when you see his performances and all that, you're like, "Yeah, we remember why this dude was like a titan of industry, one of the biggest people on earth, literally biggest celebrity on earth at one point, right?" I swear, bro, the singers today who are popular, they don't compare to what this man was doing in his prime. MJ was on a different level, man, as a Titan. And even when I'm watching this in his performance, I'm like, "Bro, this is so sick. Please, please, please, God, I really hope he didn't diddy up kids.
Please, man. Please.
He was so sus. I just really hope it wasn't true, man. And I don't believe two of two the two kids in the documentary. I don't believe those allegations because they're sus. If you know anything about their credibility, they're sus. But there was one I was like, ah, this comes close to make there's some credibility here, right?
So, there's like a I'm I have a mixed thing on MJ.
And then there's people theorizing about how he was, you know, sabotaged by elites and all that stuff. But listen, I'm not trying to re religate that. I made a whole video on this already. I was just This kind of movie had me like hoping this brother wasn't like that, man. So, it did an effective job of getting you hyped. And there's a scene with him chore getting the like the crew together and doing choreography for like their live performance. And it's great.
As someone who really likes dance choreography, fight choreography, this stuff like I'm interested in this stuff, right? I enjoyed this a lot. I really like those scenes. I like the scenes when he's working on his craft, you know? Those are the highlights of this film for me. But this film really is it really isn't about the the allegations or that [ __ ] in later life. It's about the central conflict between him and his father. His father trying to create a business and make the the Jackson family famous, right? And it's very selfish.
And MJ wants to get out of this. He wants to go solo. He wants to get out of his father's shadow, out of his father's thumb essentially. And you see the conflict between them, you know. Is MJ betraying family by wanting to go his own route or is he escaping from an abuser? Is his dad right? No, his dad is clearly clearly his dad's in the wrong in this. It's on record the abuse that he suffered from his father. And I will say, you see the abuse like early on in the film, the central conflict between them is pretty well done. I will say that. Cons, I don't know if MJ was sufficiently fleshed out enough. And again, I'm not I don't when I talk about this, I'm not talking about the allegations.
They show his good side for the most part a lot and his victimized side, the abuse he suffered from his dad, the the injuries he suffered, you know, the fire thing that happened, right? But besides that, you don't really get a hint at the flawed nature of MJ. Every single biopic, they show a good biopic in my opinion shows a more complex picture of the person that they're talking about more so than this film did. I don't really see a flawed main character in this. I see a character that you they show you most of his good side and to show that he was a victim trying to get out of the oppressive thumb of his father and do as much good as possible.
I didn't see much of I didn't see much of the real gritty uncomfortable [ __ ] I don't know. I don't think I know I know Michael Jackson from watching this. You know, you really want to get the hint of you you sufficiently know the kind of dude this was. I still don't feel like he was fleshed out enough like that. I feel like there's a couple different things they could have uh honed in on for this. They do mention his surgery, his no surgery, and his dad's reaction to the s no surgery, but that's it. They don't really harp on it enough. You do see his face changing throughout the course of the movie, but they don't it doesn't you don't see the pronounced effect it has on his mental health and his character, which it did. All right.
The skin condition he had, they only mentioned it once briefly at a doctor's office scene. You don't really hear from it again. I really think they could have honed in on the skin condition in particular and how it affected him, his insecurity about his looks, him wanting to look a certain way and the mental health toll that took on him and maybe his family too. I think if they really honed down on that and he there was a controversy about Michael Jackson lying about the extent of his surgery and why it was there, right? This is all stuff they could have fleshed out more.
Allegations aside, this is stuff that I wish they had leaned more into. You just don't get it. It really is about him escaping his dad and trying to become a solo star and him becoming a star, right? I wish they could have got I don't feel like when we have personal scenes with MJ, I don't feel like there's enough of diving into the complexities of MJ. There's there's only that one scene where his dad reacts to his nose surgery. We don't really see the effect it has on him besides that.
And that scene was, bro, the dad's reaction, his facial expressions are so [ __ ] funny, man. I can't tell you how much I was laughing when watching it, but not in a bad way. I was just like, he's just he reminds me of people I know, you know? And then the Jackson 5, I don't feel like his brothers are even characters in this film. They're kind of just there. They don't really do anything. I barely remember a word of dialogue they say. I I do his mom is in this and his mom is is a good character.
I feel like fleshing him out more by having him have more interactions with his brothers, his mom, and their reactions to him becoming solo and all that, that would have made for a much more fleshed out character. the effects of the change in his look and the fame he has on his family, not just Joe Jackson, but his family, his brothers. I think that would have fleshed out him as a character way more. I think those there were opportunities to do that this that this movie didn't take. I think it played it safe. I think this movie kind of played it a bit safe. There's weird stuff, right, with him hanging out with kids. I'm not talking about the allegations, but him wanting to relive his childhood because he never got it, right? And his family, by the time he's grown up, his family's too busy to hang out with him. So, him hanging out with kids, him buying a monkey, right? All this weird stuff you it's it feels you don't we're not it doesn't get touched on enough in my opinion. There is that scene with him buying a monkey and you see Joe Jackson's reaction is one of the funniest things ever in the movie. There are references to Peter Pan and Neverland, but we don't ever it's all we never really hint at anything deeper with that, right? I feel like the movie was a bit too clean with MJ as a character. Again, allegations aside, I don't feel like this is a complex, completely fleshed out character. I feel like this movie is more of a celebration of his career and what he did for the for the world, for the industry, rather than seeing the real side of MJ. We get close, but not close enough in my opinion. Guys, I don't really know if there's an objective way for people to look at this film cuz most people are on the side of this movie will not be real without touching the allegations. And there's people who hate MJ because of those allegations and and either don't want to watch the film or will watch the film hoping there that's there or there are people who just love MJ and we'll glaze this movie no matter what. Right?
I don't think there's an objective way to look at this film. I feel like I have given the most objective take on this film by the way. But it's a tough one.
It's a tough one. I will say an enjoyable film. Not the best biopic I've seen. I don't give a [ __ ] about biopics, but not the best biopic I've seen.
a fun film with some really entertaining sequences, but not nearly as fleshed out or as complex as I would want a portrayal of MJ to be.
We'll see what they do in the sequel.
Who knows? But that's my stance on this film. All right, guys. Bye. Ladies and gentlemen, we are on a mission to take over Hollywood, but the army must keep growing.
