Nolan Wells Autopsy Released!!

[00:00:14]And as you see on the screen right here, uh they are preparing for uh the press conference. There's no audio uh on this screen. This stream is coming from uh Fox 32 Chicago. And so um we're waiting.

[00:00:32]Uh they said it was supposed to start at 900 a.m. and uh it is now 9 9:12 a.m.

[00:00:41]Now they said 8:00 a.m. Central time. So uh 8:00 a.m. Central time, if I'm not mistaken, is 900 a.m. our time. So, uh, we're still waiting on them to start the press conference to, uh, release these results.

[00:01:00]And, you know, if you've been hiding under a rock or if you've been smoking rocks, then you will not know about the Nolan Wells case. And, you know, a lot of people have been covering this case.

[00:01:14]We've been waiting on this autopsy uh, for about two weeks. If y'all remember, uh, when Ben Crump first got involved, they said that they were going to release the autopsy about, uh, two Fridays ago. And, uh, it is now that even the, uh, the the law enforcement autopsy has still not yet, uh, been released. And so, uh, it is said that they have, you know, Ben Crump was kind of waiting for, uh, them to release their findings.

[00:01:50]And because they did not release their findings, I guess he's going to, uh, release his findings. Now, um, we've already heard a Navy rescuer, uh, says that he when he saw the body, the body did not look, the body did not show signs of being waterlogged.

[00:02:16]And if that's the case, then, you know, it goes back to the theory that, you know, someone took him away from the island and then put him back on the island before he was found. And uh so we're going to wait and see. You know, we heard we heard earlier in the uh week last week, we heard uh two nurses uh from the area in DC who said that they knew a person who was in the transport uh sector of the medical facility and you know they indicated that the person told them that you know Nolan's body uh looked like it had been tortured that it. Those were their exact words. Now, once again, this is all alleged. We don't know. Uh but they said it was definitely some, you know, some some some discrepancies with his body and also he was being transported face down. And so, um apparently, you know, there it looks like, you know, that they're going to be some things that are not necessarily forthcoming.

[00:03:32]uh with with what they're trying to say as far as just a a drowning. And we all know that, you know, our brother just couldn't disappear on that island with, you know, thousands of people there.

[00:03:45]Thousands of people there. So there's there's c there there's photos surfacing that they you said I bet I bet they lost their job. But yeah, so there's photos surfacing now which allegedly shows Nolan Wales on Katie's father's boat.

[00:04:04]Katie's father's boat. And uh Katie is the mysterious unmelonated girl that he was talking to and he all of a sudden said, "Well, yeah, I'm going uh back on the boat with my homeboys."

[00:04:22]And then, you know, they say, "Well, no, he said he was going to stay with Katie." So, this this whole uh this whole entire lie, this let's put it like right right there, lie is being, you know, kind of unraveling before our eyes. And it makes no sense of of of on an island with a party atmosphere and, you know, people uh having fun.

[00:05:00]All right. So, you see, you heard them say that they are going to get started in about two minutes. So, we are going to uh find out the results just like everybody else is in the audience. But yeah, so you know, and a lot of people um have I guess mis um I would say suspicions anytime you know crump is involved just just uh all these freemasons being and I'm glad see I was just about to get on there a tribe called dope. Um, a lot of people have those suspicions every time Trump and, you know, Al Sharpton kind of just show up and it's the same song and dance, uh, the the the same pony show, uh, that we have seen throughout the years. Uh, you know, they get up there and, you know, do these quotes and, you know, these same old things, uh, you know, justice for such and such, this and that. you know, we're going to continue to fight, fight, fight, and a lot of times it just results in monetary compensation for the family. All right? It rarely results in convictions or somebody being punishment for the crime. And you know that's that that's unfortunate uh because you know a lot of times uh with these civil lawsuits and you know make no mistake you know I guess he's good at what he does with the civil aspect of it but the civil lawsuit it allows the evidence to come out because you know in order to get a civil lawsuit they have to prove that you have uh or something wrong has been done. And in order to prove that, then you have to have access to all of the evidence that the DA uh and everybody is is is covering up. So, in that regard, you know, that's a good thing to get the entire truth out. But if the end result is not making sure that somebody pays for that crime that was committed against, you know, us us people, then it's to me, you know, it's it's not it's not the true measure of justice. And you know, I I actually did a video, I haven't released it yet, about Ben Crump basically admitting, yeah, you know, I'm there to get money, you know, to get in in his words, some measure of justice. He said, well, when the criminal, you know, charges are not brought forth, you know, that's all we can hope to do, which I kind of disagree with that, but um we are waiting, you know what I'm saying? and and we are waiting to see what they they they they what to say.

[00:08:30]Unlike you, Mr. Richards, I call a hog a hog and a dog. A dog. Yeah, man. Shout out to everybody, man. They they are um about to start this press conference.

[00:08:40]And uh we're going to see just what they have to say. Once again, there's no nobody that can tell me nothing different. Um that something, you know, terrible was done to this man. Uh even if it's just, you know, being thrown overboard in the middle of the Gulf Coast, you know, but then they have, you know, reports of him being beaten at a party. Uh they have, you know, a lot of lot of different reports.

[00:09:16]Yeah, there definitely demonic spirits.

[00:09:18]Um I was just watching uh an interview and I'll play that interview a little bit later today of the quote unquote friend. Yeah, he was murdered. He definitely was murdered. Um you know, talking about it and he just looks so evil. Uh they're they're coming out of the woodwork now. Everybody, because as the autopsy is is is being released now, everybody's trying to come out. You know, you you saw the the ranger who uh quote unquote arrested him. You you have the sea company. Uh the sea company actually came out and said, "We never tow the boat." And so that's a discrepancy because they brought out the the the audio of the young men saying, "Okay, well, yeah, we're trapped on this island and you know, our boat is sinking and uh we need help." And you know, the lady asked, "Was everybody on board?"

[00:10:20]And they said, "Yeah." And he said they want that $100,000. Maybe so. Um but uh but but but now they're coming out and saying, "Well, the SETO company are responding to say,"Well, no, we never came to get them because we got a call saying that everything is okay right now and we don't need any help." And so that basically discounts or discredit their story of where you know we were losing water in the boat and we need uh we needed a a toe because the toe to toe the tow the boat toe and that's called seto. You can look it up saying okay well no we didn't we never came to tow that boat. So if they release that first call, which kind of puts the white boys in the victim, you [snorts] know, the pure innocent white boys about to drown in the sea and they needed help and you know, so stop blaming them. But so why didn't they play that second call when they called the people back and said, "Well, no, we don't need any help." And it doesn't make sense as well the whole towing thing because they said that they were towed when when the people got there, mind you, they said it took the people 30 minutes to get there. If it took them 30 minutes to get there and they're sinking and that little boat, you know, and once again, I'm not a boat. I'm not a a a a long shoreman or a fisherman or whatever or a yachsman, but if they got that little boat, I would assume that it would already have been uh shipped. Never mixed chemicals. That now that's that's we I'll get on that, you know, in in a little bit. But, um they're saying they they towed the boat for three miles and then the boat returned to regular operation. That doesn't make any sense. If the boat is sinking and taking on water and you get a tow and then they tow you three miles, okay, we're good now. You know, our boat's not that doesn't make any sense as well. Take take one of mine and I'll take two of yours was I I can dig it. I can dig it. Um but yeah, so that now they're also if you watch the uh show with Nancy Grace yesterday, uh they had this autopsy guy up there and he was talking about well drowning and also you know there would be uh fluid in the lungs for a OD. Now they're bringing in that they're bringing in that that that factor as well. If if you watch that interview, they kept saying, you know, he kept saying, well, with an overdose, it's the same as drowning. And, you know, you can't really tell which one happened first.

[00:13:03]It definitely looks like they're about to start. But, you know, they're coming with that narrative. I actually heard, you know, a quote unquote another friend testify uh this morning, probably pay that video talking about, yeah, Nolan, you know, when I saw him on the beach, he was hammered. uh his speech was slurring and you know he was now once again they're they they've already kind of introduced that factor but but we all know Nolan was a prominent football player. He was actually going to try he was a star player at Mississippi uh community whatever that that college he went to and he was uh basically about to have a try out for a D1 school.

[00:13:51]So he wasn't into those things. So that is once again a thing that they're trying to muddy the water so they can rule rule it at accidental drowning OD you know. Well, he just felt he was just so hammered.

[00:14:09]Okay, let's see where we at here.

[00:14:16]>> Uh, we are here because a demand was made, a demand for transparency, >> a demand for answers, and a demand for ultimate justice on behalf of Nolan Wells. And that demand must be honored.

[00:14:32]>> Amen. For that, we are honored to pause even for a moment to respond accordingly here at our national convention.

[00:14:38]Momentarily, you will hear from renowned civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump uh who will provide updates on the findings of the independent autopsy that was conducted um on in the death of Nolan Wells. Immediately following that, we will take questions um from credentialed media.

[00:14:57]We'll attempt to answer as many questions as we can. However, we want to be respectful of the fact that we do have additional programming that is going on to conclude our convention today as well. So, we're asking that all press and media, if you're asking questions, please be concise. Uh, give your name, give your media credential.

[00:15:13]Um, and we'll go from there. Um, but before he comes, uh, we will have the leader of the NAACP, President Derek Johnson, to give opening remarks.

[00:15:21]President Johnson, [applause] >> good morning. Good morning.

[00:15:30]>> Far too often, our young people are confronted with challenges, and many jurisdictions and states don't take those challenges serious.

[00:15:40]We cannot allow another individual, particularly a young black man's death, go uninvestigated.

[00:15:48]We have seen this happen over the years, not only in Mississippi, but across the country.

[00:15:56]It is unfortunate that our young people only seek to enjoy life and as a result of participating in activities no longer have life.

[00:16:08]For the NAACP we take this and many other cases serious because every person matter. Amen. Amen.

[00:16:18]>> I want to thank [applause] the Mississippi State Conference particularly Alra Perryman for working with the family and supporting the family uh uh on the onset because it's difficult to lose a loved one. It is even more difficult to navigate a process when all eyes are on you and the pressure of balancing between grieving and navigating is upon you. And so, but then ACP family, this is our role is to step in to support when the families have an issue like this and the local officials seem not to hold people accountable.

[00:17:05]It's unfortunate when you see news reports and law enforcement officials are repeating what individuals are saying as opposed to investigate the individuals who gave you the information because you don't know who was involved or not involved.

[00:17:22]>> Amen.

[00:17:23]>> And so narrative matters in this case.

[00:17:26]And we're saying that in in Nolan Well's situation, the narrative should not be it was an accident before there was an investigation.

[00:17:35]The narrative should not be the words of individuals who went on a boat to the island with him, but they came without him, but with his cell phone, and you don't investigate those individuals >> without accusing anyone of anything other than the state of Mississippi and local officials. We're accusing them of being derelct in their duties.

[00:17:56]>> [applause] >> to follow up and to ensure that regardless of what happened that there was the proper investigation so that this family and that community could be assured that if anyone was involved they would be held accountable and if it was in truly an accident that the families will have the necessary answers that any family deserve in the situation.

[00:18:28]I want to bring to the podium attorney Benjamin Crump, a friend of mine who have stepped in to take the case and in support of the family to ensure that they get the answers that they deserve and that local officials and anyone involved will be held accountable to this family, to that system because we are all parents, siblings, to loved ones who should not be confronted with this reality. [00:19:28]Thank you to Chairman Leon Russell, uh, my longtime mentor from Florida who helped raise so many of us. Thank you for always [applause] being there.

[00:19:39]Chairman Russell, as President Johnson said, I'm attorney Ben Crump representing the family of Nolan Wales. But it's not just me. It is a team effort of incredible dedicated lawyers and investigators and parillegals. Um, attorney Lisa Park, attorney who you'll hear from in a few minutes, attorney Eric Herz, attorney Gary Ban, attorney uh, Camila Moore, uh, Cliff Jones, Jared Preston, Allan Williams, a whole team of people who are committed, as I said, President Johnson on this ferocious ious search for the truth of what really happened to Nolan Wales.

[00:20:39]But before we begin to discuss the intricacies of the preliminary findings of the independent autopsy, we think it would be appropriate for you all to hear from the people who knew Nolan Wells best so they can thank you themselves and tell you about the trials and tribulations. ations that they have been enduring since July 4th.

[00:21:15]July 4th would never be the same for them.

[00:21:19]Um, I bring to the podium Nolan Wells mother and father Christine and Elmore.

[00:21:28]Please give them a warm NAACP welcome.

[00:21:34][cheering] First of all, I want to say thank you all so much. Um, thank you to President Johnson as well as Chairman Russell. Um, this has been a difficult journey. Um, losing a child, it truly breaks your heart. It is a pain that is just, you can't measure it. Um, especially someone like Nolan who brought so much joy and and light and life to everyone.

[00:22:22]Um, you don't find too many genuine people like him. So to lose that light at such a young age under these circumstances has been absolutely difficult. Um which is why we've gone this route. There's so many people out in the public asking all of these questions. But the only question that we have is what happened to our son?

[00:22:48]That that is the only question.

[00:22:51]Um, we have consistently been degraded by the public. There's been questions about our parenting, our GoFundMe, um, this, that, and other. I've been called a racist. I am a healthc care provider and I take my job very seriously. I love everyone. Um, and it's just it's been difficult for us, but we are leaning into our faith, leaning into one another, also leaning into all of you. There are not enough thank yous, not enough appreciation um for what you guys have done for us. And we do, we love you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you.

[00:23:38]>> [applause] >> And so it is our hope that our local authorities will do what they need to do because us having the preliminary autopsy results and hearing nothing from them, it it's heartbreaking and it's concerning which again is why we are here, why we have asked for this help. Um so again, thank you all so much for your support. Um, we appreciate you.

[00:24:19]Like all of these preliminaries, let's get on with it. a challenge knowing that a part of me I will never talk to, I will never hold, I will never play around with or get mad at is not here anymore.

[00:24:38]Nolan brought a lot of joy to our family. He was the most He was the wittiest one out of everyone.

[00:24:46]The clown.

[00:24:48]Um he He loved to put in the work because he wanted to be the best. He wanted to make me and his mother proud and we were so proud of him just for being the person that he was. He was loving. All his teachers knew him but loved him. He walks in the room his aura you automatically drawn to it.

[00:25:19]um never met an enemy and if they were they would eventually be friends cuz they would eventually bond and it's it's going to be hard. Um he should be at football practice right now.

[00:25:38]>> Yeah.

[00:25:39]>> Calling me out to practice. Yeah, I I made this play or I made that play or I get a text with three or four videos of him doing this, making running this route, making this block and what you think what think I should do and I will give my honest cuz I always tell them if anyone is going to be totally honest with you, it's going to be me. And it's not because I'm being mean, but people outside of your family are going to tell you what you want to hear. I'm going to tell you what you need to know to make you better.

[00:26:10]Um, it's going to be hard for our family from from here on out. Um, and like I like I said, every day is a is a challenge.

[00:26:20]We're going to miss our son. And like my wife said, we just want honesty. We want to know what happened to our son because the things that you're telling us, that's not the character of our son. We know our son. I understand. you know, our our children would do things that, you know, that kind of dumbfound us sometime, but the things that we're being told, there wasn't no.

[00:26:44]So, please keep us in your prayers. Keep them in your prayers, and we're going to keep pushing and fighting until we find answers. Thank you guys for your love and support.

[00:27:08]Uh Christine and Elmore, Nolan's mother and father. Uh before we start to um go over the preliminary uh findings from the independent autopsy, we will hear from attorney Lisa Park to tell you about who uh was the forensic pathologist who conducted the autopsy. Attorney Lisa Park.

[00:27:46]Dr. Roger Mitchell could not join us today, but we felt it important before we reveal and unfold this report that you understand who conducted this autopsy.

[00:28:02]Dr. Roger Mitchell is a physician and boardcertified forensic pathologist with two decades of experience.

[00:28:12]He currently serves as the president of the National Medical Association, which is the oldest and largest group of black physicians in the US.

[00:28:24][applause] Most recently, he also served as president of Howard University Hospital, chief medical officer of the Howard University faculty practice plan, and chair of the department of pathology.

[00:28:43]Before joining Howard, he served as chief medical examiner for Washington DC from 2014 to 2021 and is later as interim deputy mayor for the public safety and justice.

[00:29:01]Dr. Dr. Mitchell has conducted and managed thousands of autopsies and is nationally recognized for his work at the intersection of medicine, public health, and justice. And for this case, we sought out the very best, and we are proud to be working with the very best.

[00:29:25][applause] Thank you, Attorney Park.

[00:29:35]I again want to express our gratitude to President Johnson, Chairman Russell, and the NAACP because civil rights is more important than ever in the United States of America today.

[00:29:53]And so we thank you for the civil rights leaders stepping up to say that our children lives matter now more than ever.

[00:30:07]And I want to thank all of you for getting up 8 in the morning. just I mean if people could see how many people are gathered here um they would say you all are truly blessed to have the support of America Christine and Elmore [applause] and I want to thank the media uh for covering this matter uh because they don't always cover when our children are taken away from us in highly unquestionable ways.

[00:30:50]And I I do understand there's a lot of news going on in America today. Um you know, I woke up to them saying LeBron James is going to announce where he's going to play uh basketball next year.

[00:31:08]But I'm very happy that the media said this story is just as important as just as important.

[00:31:23]And and I'm sure LeBron James and Rich Paul and um you know Stefon Kerry and Draymond Green.

[00:31:36]Um Jaylen Brown, Embiid, Maxi, Giannis, Bam, and many other players in the National Basketball Association will all agree that our children's lives are far more important than where LeBron or any other player will play next year. And so that's why I thank you all for being here because this news is AS IMPORTANT AS ANY news in the United States of America. Finding out WHY IS NOLAN WALES DEAD.

I know people said there were a lot of disturbances out there. Some believe they it involved Nolan. All of those things are important to get to the truth of what happened. The fact Yeah.

[00:33:37]The fact, Christine, that the United Cajun Navy uh are so forthcoming. The fact that they told us, we haven't heard from any of their uh local officials, that Nolan was found face down fully clothed.

[00:33:56]>> Well, that's significant to us because the last time we saw him on the videos, he was without a shirt. So, at what point did he put on a shirt? Somebody saw something. Somebody know something.

[00:34:08]There were ALMOST 300 400 people.

[00:34:13]SOMEBODY KNOW SOMETHING.

[00:36:42]As we uh begin to present the preliminary findings of the autopsy. We want to especially thank Mr. Colin Kaepernick for not thinking it robbery to pay for the autopsy.

[00:37:03]Just the first time, let's go with the first one.

[00:37:13]So, where's real one?

[00:38:22]So, Dr. Roger Mitchell, board certified forensic pathologist, uh performed a preliminary report on the death of Nolan Xavier Wales. He conducted and I mean presented this report on July 19th, 2026.

[00:38:44]Um preliminary report, second autopsy, death of Nolan Xavier Wales. cause of death undetermined pending investigation.

[00:38:56]And we'll explain that as we go through the report this morning. The manner of death undetermined pending investigation.

[00:39:10]Statement of examination. This forensic pathologist was retained to perform a second autopsy examination on the body of Nolan Xavier Wales.

[00:39:21]Name of deedent Nolan Xavier Wales. Age 18 years old. Race black. Gender male.

[00:39:30]Date of death unknown.

[00:39:35]Second autopsy date was performed on July 10th, 2026.

[00:39:45]Preliminary findings and this is significant focal area of red discoloration in the soft tissue of the back of the head. the occipital region. He said the ideology is unknown at this time.

[00:40:10]He said the body was received after the initial autopsy.

[00:40:14]He said the body had marked decompens comp decompensation.

[00:40:22]He said corona incision of the scalp, brain removal, Y-shaped incision of the anterior torso.

[00:40:34]And he talked about the organs being removed as is common as is common accompany in the body in the body cavity.

[00:40:46]And that when you have a autopsy, the organs are removed from the body and they are dissected and examined and then they are put back in a bag with inside the body. So when they are buried, their remains will all be with them. But in this occasion, if there's going to be a second autopsy, then the organs are put in the body cavity so the second pathologist could be able to examine the organs as well.

[00:41:21]Very significant um for Dr. Mitchell was that the anterior inner neck structures were absent, not received with the body.

[00:41:38]And we'll explain that in just a minute.

[00:41:43]Um, and then it talks about the additional perform the additional procedures performed during the second autopsy. And we'll go into the paragraphs on that there because he explains it better in his narrative. So where's the first page of the discussion? Not the diagram yet. You can keep diagram over there.

[00:42:23]So he talks in the preliminary discussion opinion. This forensic pathologist identified several limitations during the second autopsy that create barriers to establishing a definitive cause and manner of death for Nolan Xavier Wales. And and that's important. He talks about the fact that we didn't get to see the body when it was first recovered like the medical examiner working for uh Mississippi would have seen it. He talked about the second autopsy performed on Nolan Wales revealed mark decompensation or changes.

[00:43:11]M decompensation can obscure the presence and absence of bruising on the skin surface, especially during a second autopsy examination. What he's saying because the body was so decomposed that you couldn't tell if there was bruises or abrasions on the body when he received it um on the 10th of July.

[00:43:44]For these reasons, additional dissection procedures not performed during the first autopsy examination were performed to rule out potential blunt force injuries responsible for the death. These procedures included facial dissection, posterior head and neck dissection, dissection of the ribs, the pelvic, dissection of the subcutaneous and deep soft tissue, dissection of the back, the buttocks, the arms and legs.

[00:44:24]The He did all of this to rule out things. He ruled out there were no fractures or deep tissue injuries identified. This was very important because he wanted to be very thorough and very transparent because transparency is the key to getting to the answers of why Nolan Wells is not with us.

[00:44:51]So he did that there and was very straightforward, very open, very open.

[00:45:04]He says, "However, dissection of the back of the head during the layered posterior neck dissection revealed a 12x 8 in focal area, a rare discoloration in the deep soft tissues overlaying the oipital bone and He talked about how he found red discoloration when he cut open into the back of his head towards the oipital bone and he saw the red discoloration and we actually saw the pictures of it.

[00:45:57]It's significant. you you can't help but notice why is this dark red here in the back of his head. And so he was important to note that in his report.

[00:46:17]He said that ideology of this finding is unclear.

[00:46:24]There are no lacerations of the overlaying skin nor fractures of the underlying skull. These findings are inconclusive for permortal injury due to the body due to both the extensive decomposition and the absence of associated injuries. This finding, however, is significant enough to be highlighted in this preliminary report for further investigation.

[00:47:04]It is important to reiterate that the finding could not have been observed in the first autopsy because the posterior head and neck dissection were not performed.

[00:47:25]He said another limitation move this back here. Another limitation faced by this forensic pathologist was the absence of the anterior internal neck structures.

[00:47:39]The trachea and the laryng cartilage, the thyroid horn and the hyoid bone were not received with the body.

[00:47:53]So he's saying that the throat was not received with the body when he got Nolan Wells body in Washington DC to perform the second autopsy.

[00:48:11]And so let's discuss that with what he said about that.

[00:48:19]He said it is assumed that the initial pathologist retained these structures for additional evaluation.

[00:48:28]He said the retention of the anterior neck structures during an initial autopsy is a common forensic pathology practice. He was chief medical examiner for seven years in Washington DC and he said that if they had concern about throat or any fracture or compression of the throat they too will hold them back.

[00:48:53]He doesn't know why they held the throat back but he said the throat was not with the body of Nolan Wales when he received it in Washington DC to perform the second autopsy.

[00:49:08]He said, "Nevertheless, a posterior neck dissection performed without review of the anterior neck structures is incomplete.

[00:49:21]Therefore, this pathologist cannot rule out injury to the neck as a contributing a contributor or a cause of death." He said he would need to have the medical examiner in Mississippi allow him to review the throat. That's why he said his autopsy is undetermined pending investigation. Remember, it's about transparency.

[00:49:54]Because the initial autopsy rightfully removed and dissected each organ, there are additional limitations inherent in the second autopsy of Nolan Wales. The most significant of the limitations was the inability to directly observe the airway and the lungs for water and directly observe the stomach for gastric contents.

[00:50:24]He said it is very significant as to what the initial forensic scientists who got to review the body when it was recovered.

[00:50:42]We have heard from our call center people saying the body wasn't water logged. Well, we need to know those things. But unfortunately because the body was decomposed and the organs have already been dissected. Those are things we can only get from the initial autopsy. So therefore again the manner and cause of death is undetermined until further investigation. We are hopeful that the Mississippi Medical Examiner would give Dr. Mitch a opportunity to see their photographs and their observations to the condition of Nolan Wells body closer in time to July 4th.

[00:51:35]That is very important and we have to continue to demand transparency.

[00:51:39]President Johnson.

[00:51:46]In addition, the original toxicology results have not been received at the time of this report and we continue to wait for the toxicology to come back because again that will be part of the investigation into uh Nolan Wells autopsy by Dr. Mitchell.

[00:52:13]It is significant to note that it's many things that go into toxicology that only Dr. Mitchell would be able to appine upon and medical experts can appine upon and he feels the proper place to do that is before a grand jury in a courtroom.

[00:52:36]And so we would hope that the district attorney would present Dr. Mitchell before the grand jury as well.

[00:52:50]We want all relevant information to be heard by the grand jury.

[00:52:59]Lastly, in cases where a death has occurred in or around a body of water, this this is important.

[00:53:22]Lastly, in cases where a death has occurred in or around a body of water with suspicion of drowning, it is important to confirm how that person entered the water.

[00:53:40]This is the crux of the matter.

[00:53:44]This information is especially important for those deaths of persons who can swim.

[00:53:54]As in the case with Nolan Wales at the time of this report, this forensic pathologist does not know the condition of Nolan Wales.

[00:54:08]He did not know whether he was conscious or unconscious when he entered the water.

[00:54:17]He said that would be significant.

[00:54:20]He said he did not know whether he was forced into the water or unforced into the water. He said that would be significant. So he said the condition of Nolan Wales before he entered the water would be the crux of the matter. It would be of utmost importance to being able to determine a cause and manner of death.

[00:54:52]He said definitive circumstances of death are required to determine the manner of death.

[00:55:03]For these reasons, this pathologist cannot rule out and let me really call your attention to this. For these reasons, this pathologist cannot rule out if any intervening non-ACL factors contributed to or caused the death of Nolan Wales.

[00:55:34]Understand, he's saying based on the examination of the body, he cannot rule out foul play.

[00:55:43]That is significant.

[00:55:47]with the following questions still outstanding.

[00:55:52]Number one, what were the circumstances that led to Nolan Xavier Wales entering the water?

[00:56:01]Number two, what was the body position when it was found? We know that a member of the United Casian Navy said that he was face down and he was fully clothed.

[00:56:18]Number three, where's there water in the airway?

[00:56:23]Remember he talked about the lungs and the airways where they filled with water.

[00:56:31]Number four, is there any evidence of injuries to the anterior neck structure?

[00:56:39]We got the autopsy without his neck. We got the body without his neck at the time of the second autopsy.

[00:56:49]Number five, is there any evidence of any inner cranial hemorrhaging?

[00:56:56]He said that is going to be very significant things that he could not observe at autopsy that the initial medical examiner would have been able to observe.

[00:57:08]Number six was the composition of the what was the composition of the stomach contents? He talks about that being important because when was he found? How long had he been in the water? How long had it been since his last meal? All those things become relevant factors when you're trying to do a thorough and impartial autopsy.

[00:57:40]And number seven, what was what are the toxicology report findings?

[00:57:47]He said the best classification again for the cause and manner of death for Nolan Xavier Wales is undetermined pending investigation.

[00:57:59]This forensic pathologist reserves the right to review and incorporate additional forensic pathology information into his opinion as it becomes available. He says, "The above opinions are expressed to a reasonable degree of medical certainty." Dr. Roger A. Mitchell, July 19th, 2026.

[00:58:29]And we know that, as I said, this is only another part of the puzzle.

[00:58:36]And even though it tells us significant information, we still have more questions than we have answers at this time. And we will continue to press forward and persist Christine and Elmore with getting the answers to these questions because as you Yes.

[00:59:02]We will persist, persist, persist because as Christine and Elmore and Attorney Park and I talked this morning, we know that there are so many conflicting stories.

[00:59:25]The fact that she said him being found face down. The fact that we have other videos where people who have called said that is Nolan who is in some kind of uh dispute with others.

[00:59:45]We're looking at all of these things.

[00:59:47]the fact that the GPS tracking of the boat is being questioned by many.

[00:59:56]We are trying to dot every eye and cross every tea because we understand that when our children lives are at stake, it matters. Not just what happened, but what we do in the aftermath of them being taken away from us. And just like the NAACP stood up when another tragedy in Mississippi taking the life of young Emtt Teal, >> we will stand up for Nolan Wales.

[01:00:36]Just like the NAACP and civil rights leaders stood up when another Mississippi sign was taken in Mega Evers.

[01:00:52]>> We will stand up for Nolan Wales.

[01:00:59]And just like too many of our young people, Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, >> Bana Taylor, >> Ahmad Arbury, >> Botham Jean, >> Terrence Crutcher, Stefon Clark, Sandra Bland, >> Aiana Jefferson, >> Sterling, Alton Sterling, >> Eric Gardner, George Floyd, the >> Tamir Rice, the young people who I was trying to focus on.

I will say this as President Johnson comes to the stage, I was sharing this with him and Chairman Russell, Christine Clark, um, God knows we wish we had you at the Department of Justice. Now, Christine Clark, as I was sharing with President Johnson and um Reverend Al and others, this is so important that we continue to talk about Nolan Wales and what happened to him and that we get attention on him because in getting attention on him, it brings attention, Cliff Jones, to other cases that are not getting their attention as of yet. But I'm so grateful to Christine and Elmore because they said whatever we can do, not only to help our son, but to help these other young black boys who was killed uh November, the July 4th holiday.

[01:03:34]And and I want to take a moment before we answer your questions to talk about two other young black men.

[01:03:44]BOTH 18 YEARS old [screaming] who were killed in extraordinary ways that are very similar to Nolan.

[01:03:56]President Johnson, 18year-old Daniel Irvin went on a fishing trip uh out on a fishing boat with two other young men.

[01:04:10]He was the only black.

[01:04:15]It is alleged that he end up accidentally drowning, but his two white friends got his cell phone and threw it away.

[01:04:30]Got his clothes and threw it away and then went and deleted all of their text messages with him and social media.

[01:04:41]Sounds familiar?

[01:04:46]and they've only been charged with tampering with evidence. [snorts] And his mother is crying out that they should be charged with murder because if they will lie about his cell phone and his clothes and deleted messages, then they will lie about what really happened to Daniel Urban.

[01:05:12]And then there's the matter President Johnson Christian Clark of 18-year-old Sterling Smith, I'm sorry, Tyler Smith.

[01:05:26]Tyler Smith on 4th of July was at a house party with about 10 other people. He was on the only black person at the house.

[01:05:42]He somehow ends up shot in the head.

[01:05:48]Dead.

[01:05:53]Some of the friends get rid of the gun.

[01:05:57]The police show up. They tell the police it was a accident. It was an accidental shooting. That they were playing RUSSIAN ROULETTE.

[01:06:12]AND TYLER Smith end up getting killed.

[01:06:17]And apparently Christine Clark, President Johnson, the police just took their word for it.

[01:06:26]His mother and grandmother are insensed.

[01:06:31]They asked the police, "Did you do a gunshot residue test on his hands?

[01:06:40]And the reason they said they had to call us like Daniel Urban's and Noah Nolan Wells family because the police told them, President Johnson, that there was no need to do gunshot residue on his hands or any of the other people in the house because I don't understand this logic, but they said if we they were playing Russian roulette then all of them would have gunshot residue on their hands so we don't need to do gunshot residue test.

[01:07:23]>> It makes no sense whatsoever.

[01:07:26]So they are taking the word of these 10 people that your son just killed himself and you don't have to worry about doing any investigation or testing forensically anything. Just take our word for it. NOW, CAN YOU IMAGINE IN ANY THREE OF THESE SCENARIOS had the SURVIVORS BEEN YOUNG BLACK MEN AND THEY WERE WITH A YOUNG WHITE MAN AND HE ENDED UP DEAD, WHAT KIND OF INVESTIGATION WOULD THAT HAVE BEEN? WHAT KIND OF INTERROGATION WOULD THAT HAVE BEEN? WOULD THEY HAVE EVER BEEN ABLE TO SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY UNTIL THOSE QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED? WELL, JUST LIKE YOU WOULD DO A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION FOR YOUR CHILDREN, WE WANT YOU TO DO A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION FOR OUR CHILDREN.

[01:08:32]We don't want anything special. WE JUST WANT EQUAL JUSTICE.

[01:08:39]equal justice.

[01:08:41]And so with that, I'll turn it over to Travon to lead us in the final session.

Can you summarize for our viewers because there's a lot to take in, a lot of information. So in summary, can you uh succinctly tell us what we can take away from this report and also if you can provide more details about the neck?

[01:09:26]>> I heard a lot of people behind me gasping when that detail was mentioned.

[01:09:30]>> Yeah, let let me try to be very comprehensive.

[01:09:34]Um as Dr. Roger Mitch said that the focal area of red discoloration in the soft tissue soft tissue of the back of the head the obsipa region is significant because he cannot determine why you have that red discoloration in the back of his brain. That's significant. He also talked about Mr. Williams if you could just the fact that as it's common practice he was missing his throat when they received the body and he wants to know why they held it back. He's not drawing any conclusions, but he said he would want to examine it if there were uh neck fractures or compressions to the neck. And he thinks that's significant to know at autopsy.

[01:10:40]The reason he says he would hold it back when he was medical examiner because he thought that there may have been some issues with neck fractures. The last thing that is significant is what we said before about him, the condition of his body when he went into the water.

[01:11:02]Was he conscious or unconscious? Was he forced or unforced into the water? He said those things are very significant.

[01:11:12]But he started off talking about this red discoloration in the back of his head is something that was of great concern to him. Thank you.

[01:11:34]What specifically are you calling for from Mississippi authorities in terms of transparency, but more importantly investigations?

[01:11:49]>> We we and I I I know President Johnson uh is in the from the state of Mississippi and um the Mississippi conference president is here. They're calling, as we are, for a fair, impartial, comprehensive investigation.

[01:12:12]When Nolan's parents heard the sheriff say, "There's no foul play at the beginning of the investigation."

[01:12:23]That is cause for concern. Major concern. you haven't even investigated, but you're saying no foul play. And so we want them to dot every eye and cross every tea. You know, we we had a meeting with the district attorney and we we expressed to them about our lived experiences, our lived experiences, the fact and you know they they said that's not what happens in her office. But we said we believe if the roles were reversed and there were three [clears throat] young black 18 year olds and there was a white 18-year-old who was with them and he ended up dead.

[01:13:10]We don't believe that those young black men would not have been interrogated to the full extent of the law. We believe that it would not have been a choice whether they were going to cooperate with law enforcement if their lawyers and them were going to cooperate. No.

[01:13:30]No. They would have been held until they gave answers. They would have been held until they explained the cell phone in their possession. They would have been held until their cell phones have been examined. And so whatever you would do had the roles been reversed, we want you to do the same thing for Nolan Wales.

[01:14:09]>> I'm Tiffany Walden with the tribe in Chicago. Um, I know that we're talking about a transparent investigation, but for families and people who are watching, can you kind of give a breakdown or a timeline to the best of your ability of the contact that you've had with Miss Mississippi authorities or Ocean Springs authorities or the Cajun Navy? Have you all talked to them? Do they call you after the initial autopsy?

[01:14:31]Is it just radio silence from them? Do you have to call them? Can you kind of walk us through that process? So, [clears throat] uh, the last time we actually spoke with local authorities, which would be the sheriff's department, um, was, I think a day or two after his body was found. That was only initiated by me. Um, I sent him a text message. I was like, "Hey, this is Christine Nolan's mom. I just want to see if there are any updates." Basically, he called back. There were no updates. He's like, "We're still interviewing."

[01:15:03]And again, my my concern and also u my husband's concern was it was not even an hour that his body had been removed and the sheriff came out and said, "This is, you know, accidental drowning. We don't think there's foul play." Again, that is why we're doing what we're doing and why we're moving the way we are.

[01:15:30][snorts] because I sat there and asked them, "Please take this case as if this is your child."

[01:15:37]>> Yes.

[01:15:37]>> Your family member, your whatever, and they promise that they would, but when you make statements like that straight out the gate, that's an issue. Um, we did meet with the DA. She did promise, you know, transparency and all of this, you know, all of that. However, damage has already been done because now that's the narrative that's being pushed by the general public who again know nothing really only what they're hearing from other people. So in addition to that, it's all these things coming up. And at the end of the day, like I said before, any parent that would be in this situation, you would do anything >> anything to find out what happened to your child. [applause] And that is what we're here to do.

[01:16:26]It it is it is very important to note that this narrative, this suggestion that it was an accidental drowning, nothing to see here, is troubling. Even if that's the case, there were 300 to 400 people out on Horns Island. You mean to tell me nobody saw anything? Nobody can tell us anything about what happened to one of the few black people that were out there on that island that day. It just doesn't add up. The fact that they're saying Nolan said that he would stay behind, but yet a 18-year-old kid would not want his cell phone if he was going to stay behind. The fact that Yeah. You have the young lady saying that he said he was going to get back on the boat with the boys and then the boys saying no. He said he were going to stay behind and talk to her. If that was the case, don't you believe Nolan would have said, "Give me my cell phone. I'mma stay behind. Give me my car keys. I'mma stay behind. It's not adding up." And so we're going to keep fighting and digging until we get the answers. the transparency, the truth, the accountability, and justice for Nolan Wales.

How many times we got to yell that, you know, and I find it strange that that doctor that doctor who performed the autopsy on this most important day, one of the most polarizing cases that is going on in America, he was not there to describe and analyze and summarize and and interpret this autopsy like Ben Crump. Trump has no he does good at what he does which is the legal stuff but he couldn't even pronounce some of those words and accidental and occupational he couldn't even um he talking about decomp you know it's decomposition you know so that right there once again and I you know I've been reading the comments and I'm I'm kind of with y'all on the whole pomp and circumstance thing like you know all of the speaking get to the point, we needed that doctor there to analyze what he was saying. You know, uh the neck, why was the neck missing? You know, what are these abrasions? What does this mean? When they re ask the questions of Ben Crump, he just went back and read what the doctor said. He has no medical ability to interpret what those autopsies mean. And so, you know, I I I and once again, we all know that something foul was done to our brother. We don't need an autopsy to tell you that. See, like the autopsy can't tell you how he got into the water, who was he with when he got into the water. The autopsy tells you the cause of death, not the manner, you know, not how he died, but what killed him. Doesn't tell you who killed him, you know. So, um, this this of course, you know, once again, that there's a there's a already a cover up like like you said, they they sent him the body with some of the body parts. The neck was missing. Um, they got this part.

[01:28:53]They got they had to keep certain parts for them to keep investigating it. Nah, you've been doing this for a long time.

[01:29:01]Rebecca's twin sons, Esau. So, yeah. And so, so, but but they love to see us hype and clapping. Yeah, that's right.

[01:29:10]Justice for Nolan Well, just for Tatiana Jefferson, justice for Joy Floyd, Justin for Mega Everest. No, you know, we got to we got to be strategically like, listen, we not going to yell and scream. This is what we have here. This is what y'all going to do and that's that. So, um I don't know what what did y'all get uh from that. You know that like like I said that like he said he couldn't examine the lungs and the stomach. Now, that's the most important part when you're talking about drowning because, you know, if there is water in the lungs, then it leads to believe that, you know, he inhaled water while drowning. But if there is no water in the lungs, then that's a clear-cut sign that he was dead when he got into the water. Yeah, definitely obvious uh cover up. Um Yeah. So, so, so man, this is this is a case that, you know, we'll still have to, you know, bring things to light.

[01:30:17]Um and but but but as the scripture said as far as the cover up and Micah 2 and1 says woe to those who plan iniquity to those who plot evil on their beds and in the morning light they carry it out because it is in their power to do so.

[01:30:38]So, it is in the power of those Mississippi examiners, those Mississippi police, those Mississippi sheriffs to carry out this plot of evil. And we're still talking about, you know, justice for somebody. Now, we got the, you know, and I see y'all in the in the comments, hey, if that was my child, you know, it would be on, you know, that they would lose one of their child. You know what I'm saying? if and I am of that belief too. You know, the the great Dick Gregory always said when he was talking about the death of black people at the hands of police and white people, he said, "Well, you know, the reason you don't see a whole bunch of black cops shooting little white kids because black people know that white people won't tolerate that." And he said, "Until we stop tolerating things like Nolan Wales, things like, you know, everything that we see, then they're going to keep doing it." And so, you know, what what are we willing to to do?

[01:31:44]Once again, I I believe like vengeance is mine, said the Lord. But also, you know, he gave David a sword to the to you know what I'm saying? He g he gave David five stones to chop off Goliath's head. He gave uh the prophet Samuel a sword and he killed 400 of the pro false prophets, you know. He gave Eli. So, so those things right there, those are the the kind of Bible I read. So, you know, with with with all that once again that once again I know the power of prayer, you know, but certain things, you know, faith without works is dead. And so, you know, they they give us the Martin Luther King bowing down and, you know, getting hit in the head with rocks and, you know, you know, is uh, you know, nonviolent struggle, but just but they don't give us the guys who were sniping them people off the roof in the Red Summer. They don't give us those military veterans that came back from the wars and was like, "Nah, y'all not going to treat me like this." They don't give us Robert Williams negroes with guns.

[01:32:52]you know, they don't give us that that that share down in Mississippi uh or or Alabama that ran the clan out of there.

[01:32:59]You understand what I'm saying? So, we've been kind of programmed to depend on something from the sky when God has given us the power on earth, you know, to fight these things. And so, um, we'll go on and and see, uh, as as the as as the gospel on, I guess we'll run on and see what the end is going to be. But this is this is a a a common thing that um, we are going to keep enduring until once again we we stop tolerating it. And so, um, they're not going to, yeah, the white boys are real comfortable down there.

[01:33:45]You know, one of them has stepped out and did an interview. I'm going to play that interview in a couple of, um, you know, in about an hour. Just just stay on the lookout for that. But he's just arrogantly sitting there like, so we got to understand, you know, we can't accept, you know, expect justice once again from their court. They're talking about they're going to uh bring the information to the grand jury. They don't have to. They they can charge those guys and then, you know, you go through the whole process. I salute Ben Crump. He is a black man. And I salute him, too. I salute him in what he does.

[01:34:22]He is good at what he does, which is getting money when people like us are murdered.

[01:34:29]You know, I said I and but is he good with getting convictions uh in the name of justice? Yeah, I heard that too. Like in the name He give justice a hand cap or praise like and the whole NAACP democratic national thing. Yeah, I get that play too. The NAACP once again in my in my opinion is so ineffective you know this day. So, I don't I don't know why they they they chose to do something with them. But, of course, I think they had to get their hands in the pot and, you know, say, "Well, we're on this, too." But the NAACP has long been co-opted, you know. [01:36:30]Everybody's been focusing on this Nolan Wells case. Well, there's so many once again, police killing young black men unarmed. They just shot a young black man 11 times in the back um you know, recently. So, these things are still going on. Let's let let you know we're focused on this, but it's still an allout war on us. You know, people keep saying, "Well, they're going to try to start a a a race war." All right, that there you go. There there's the there you go, Ben being Ben Braden talking about they're going to uh start a waste war. It has always been a race war. When have white people in this country ever stopped being at war with us? Y'all let me know.

[01:37:17]Were they not at war with with with with black people? When they were hanging us from trees, when they were beating us in slavery, when they were taking our homes, when they were flooding out whole black cities, when they were uh committing medical genocide on us, when they were sterilizing our women without their permission, and I can go on and on and on and on and on. So, when has there not been a race war? But we are the only ones because it is in our nature to not be participating in it. You know, we don't we don't not like nobody for just existing. But on the contrary, a lot of people like not don't like us for just existing. So, um, y'all let me know, man. We we we going to get out of here, man. We But I thank y'all once again for tuning in.
