The World Health Organization is constructing an Ebola treatment center in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo, to address the Bundibugyo strain outbreak that has caused over 900 suspected infections and more than 200 deaths; due to space constraints in the existing pediatric building, WHO is leveling additional areas to establish semi-temporary facilities for suspected cases, with plans to expand for confirmed cases if space permits.
