The TRICK To Joining Aluminum And Steel追加:
I'm going to be welding some aluminum to carbon. How I'm going to be doing that is by using this bi-metal pipe transitioner right here. Half of it is metal and then the other half is uh carbon, okay? This is the aluminum side right here. Measure about 3/8 from the edge of the pipe. Get your transitioner.
Use the proper side. And then you're going to slide the transitioner up to the line, okay? You go ahead and put the other uh the other side of the different uh metal. Put your tag at 12:00, then 6:00, 3:00, 9:00. As you can see, we have the piece already tacked up right here. It's ready to be welded out. I am going to be uh welding the aluminum side first. Set my amps at 190 amps. Going to go over here and go to the balance. It's 68%. I actually want that at 70%, okay?
I was struggling to uh initiate a puddle. Well, obviously I need to go more I need to go higher in my amps. So, this is what I'm going to do. So, I'm going to go ahead and turn on my machine probably to 220 now. See what that does.
All right, guys. So, I just finished my first pass bead on it. Um I'm pretty happy with it, but let's see what I can do now. I'm going to do start my second bead.
Before applying a second pass or more passes on top of your weld on top of your welds, uh you always want to clean it, you know.
Always want to clean it. Man, that looks really good right there. My aluminum I used the uh dab technique. Uh for carbon, I'm just going to go ahead and walk the cup all the way through. I am running at 180 amps right now for my carbon.
