This series masterfully bridges the gap between academic music theory and contemporary pop, making rhythmic complexity accessible without sacrificing technical precision. It is a prime example of how modern pedagogy can revitalize traditional ear training for a digital audience.

Day 3! Today we dive into even more types of rhythm values! Both examples are 360 by charli_xcx追加:
How do we take our rhythms from here?
>> [music] >> to here.
Today we're going to explore some more types of rhythms. Yesterday we talked about quarter notes and eighth notes.
Now we're going to talk about the different rhythmic values and how many beats they're typically worth. If you're a visual learner and you need a cheat sheet, remember I have free cheat sheets, so go to our link in my bio. Get your free cheat sheets. They will be emailed to you every single week for the next 20 weeks. Otherwise, you can always save this video and reference back to it. Here is what some different rhythmic values look like. We have our 16th note, our eighth note, our quarter note, our half note, and our whole note. there are more, but these are the basics. These are the building blocks to get you started. You may have also seen rhythms with a dot.
What does that mean? When you see a rhythm with a dot, it increases the original rhythm's value by 50%. So, if our quarter note equals one beat, then a dotted quarter note equals one and a half beats. Understanding these rhythmic values takes a little bit of math, but you got this. Now, today I'm really just throwing information at you. If you want to practice this every single day for the rest of your life, please visit my friend Robbie over on Read Reps. I'll link it down below. He goes through amazing sight reading practice over there to really help you internalize these rhythms. The exciting thing about these rhythms is they can be used in any combination at any time. Now, we're going to transcribe a song that I know you've heard before, and it will really help you understand what these rhythms really mean. I know we're speed running through this. You got this. I'll see you tomorrow on Facebook.
