Medical procedures can reveal unexpected complications that extend recovery time beyond initial expectations; in this case, April's uterine myoma was larger than initially diagnosed (20 cm vs. 11 cm), requiring removal of one ovary, which means she will need additional hospital monitoring until she has a bowel movement before discharge.

The Operation Was a Success, But There Was One ComplicationAdded:
April should be about ready getting out of surgery hopefully. Probably ain't awake yet, but she should be done by now.
Let get back in here and see what's going on.
Apparently, she's still in the operating room. I'm going to see if I can go find her some flowers before I come back.
Man, I can't stay in hospitals.
She's still in surgery now. And they don't have it like where you get there's not a waiting room on the she's on the second floor. So nobody can see her until she comes back up to the sixth, but she'll go into a recovery room apparently for that's probably where she's at now. Someone else told me said usually the surgery is only like 45 minutes or less. So she's probably out of surgery but in a recovery room so they can monitor getting her off of the anesthesia.
I don't know why this makes me nervous.
Just being at the hospital makes me nervous. I don't like it, man. This place smells good.
>> Yes, the flowers.
>> Yeah, smells so good. And it's beautiful.
Isa Dang, their pre-made bouques are beautiful. Look at this.
>> Wonder which one April would like. Okay.
It's important one.
>> Do you understand visaya, sir?
>> Uh, a little bit.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> I know that. Uh, I'm I'm getting getting a bouquet of flowers for my girlfriend.
She just had an operation.
>> She's also a pin like us. Pini here.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Pini. Yeah. Yeah.
>> Where are you from, sir?
>> United States. Not >> very far. United States.
>> Oh, yeah. I live here now. I've been in the Philippines for a year. A little over a year.
>> Wow.
>> Yeah. I love it. This is my new home.
The only thing The only thing is is I'm on a motorbike. I guess I could walk it to the hospital. So >> they're in Ace Doctor.
>> Yeah, she's in Ace Doctor. So if you're in Dumagetti, you need to get a beautiful bouquet. It's called what now?
Dumagedi Hyasin.
>> Yeah.
>> Hiasin flower shop.
>> Dumagetti hyasin.
>> Thank you guys. That was a beautiful bouquet. Especially uh that fast. Check this out.
>> So >> gorgeous.
>> Have a good day.
>> You too. I'm going walk these flowers to the hospital so I don't mess them up.
Scared to ride the bike with them. Man, they smell good. I know that.
Beautiful.
I hope they're still good whenever she leaves the hospital. Put these in the house. Make the whole house smell good.
>> Dang. Very strong.
Do you know if um if room 605 is out of surgery?
>> Yeah, she's still at the surgery.
>> She's still in surgery?
>> Yeah, she's still in >> Oh, okay. Dang. She hadn't got out yet.
Dang. All right. She's still in the O recovery room, I guess.
But it's taking too long.
So, sometimes it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. I went into the operating area just to see if everything was going right. She's just now going back.
>> She's been down here for like 3 hours, man. I've done on pins and needles.
Yeah, I think I I'll stay out here and get some fresh air till I know she's out of surgery. Her son's there now.
And it may take another according to that nurse I talked to, she's just now going back there. They said the operation takes 45 minutes and then she's got to go to recovery. I thought she was already in recovery to be honest with you.
That's the That's my American impatience. That's what that is.
Paranoid.
But, you know, like I said in my previous video, not a fan of hospitals by no means.
So, I'm going home. I'll edit videos and kill the time. Man, I tell you what.
Making special trips for these spoiled rotten cats. See what April got me into.
All right, it's official. She's finally back. Her son just messaged me and said she just got to the room, so I'm headed back over there. I was sitting here editing, but I'm headed to the hospital.
I'm back again.
Glad you're out of there. I was I was freaking out. I done been to the surgery room like 10 times. Really?
>> Yeah. I can't. I didn't supposed to, but I was down there.
>> But I'm sleeping there.
>> Yeah.
>> Thank you.
>> I cannot I can >> You can't feel your You can't feel your legs.
>> No, it's like a paralyzed in my house that I told the doctor.
>> Can you feel that? Yeah, >> you can feel it.
>> Yes, >> you can feel me touching.
>> Yeah. Yeah, I feel. But this this knee is I can't I cannot feel that I can reg.
>> Did everything Did they say everything went good?
>> Not just Yeah. Yeah. It's good. It's good that the surgery is >> good.
>> I don't know that is >> Well, don't mess with it. Don't mess with it.
>> Right now, you're probably a little loopy from the drugs. I stay sleepy.
>> You sleepy? Go ahead. Good. That's good.
>> When you sleep, you heal up faster.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah, that's good. Did you like your flowers? Did you see them?
>> Don't Don't set up. Are you crazy? Hold on.
>> Thank you.
>> Hold on.
>> Why you buy your flowers?
>> Because I I I couldn't think of anything else to do.
>> Very beautiful job.
>> The whole room smells good. I smelled it when I came in here. Yeah. Can you smell? You probably can't smell right now.
to me.
>> Thank you.
>> You're welcome. Did you see the pictures? Your stuff came. Your >> Yes.
>> I actually I missed you when you come inside.
>> Yeah. 100%.
>> 100%.
>> Yeah.
>> I was just telling April about having to go get those her spoiled cats some food.
What is it you called the hard cat food?
>> It's a the cracks. The cracks. We don't >> because that's two species in the heart.
Yeah.
>> So it's like cracks.
>> So evidently I went and got the uh the cat some crack.
>> Yeah. I just thought about that. You probably don't >> even shaking is like feel like stretching.
>> Yeah. Yeah. She was she was shaking. But they said that's the effects of the anesthesia wearing off. But don't be laughing. You need to get some rest. I'm going to leave you alone. Get some sleep.
>> Yeah.
and like so that I cannot feel anything she can.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Get some rest. It'll help you later on.
>> Thank you so much, Jo. You're always beside me.
>> I love you. That's why I love you, too.
>> I'll see you later. As soon as you wake up, you're probably going to be Find out. Make sure you ask the doctor questions.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Okay. And find out when you can eat. And actually, the food here is really good.
But if you want something different, just I'll get it and just tell me what it is if you want any.
>> But as for now, no drinks, no food.
>> Yeah, she can't even have water. Not even ice right now. So >> then yesterday I just only eat one time in just only lunch overnight.
>> Well, she told you they was going to do that >> cuz they give you this medicine. They give you this uh nasty medicine that uh it's like a it's a liquid, but it makes you you poop everything.
>> Very sweet.
>> Is it? Oh, is it sweet?
>> Yeah, very sweet, too. It's like a sugar, but it's effective.
>> But I bet you whenever the the medicine when your anesthesia wears off, you're probably going to be very hungry. Not not only for that they put me a suppos two two suppository >> they make sure your system is clean.
>> Yes. But the the last the last time uh the last part this I think it's 5 a.m. 4 4 a.m. they put me uh like a a liquid like a water in my >> Oh cleaning the >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. like a colonostomy.
Colon, whatever it's called, >> where they spray water up your butt.
>> That's so nasty.
>> Yeah, >> stop moving. Remember, be careful. Let me get out of here. I'm going to You going to bust your stitches first day.
You need to rest and don't move. Try not to.
>> Okay.
>> And don't scratch it.
>> She's been in here scratching it because she can't feel it.
>> Be careful. You don't know where they I don't know what they have up under there. You got all kind of bandages.
Just be careful.
>> You'll be back down there. You Yeah.
Stay put. You want to go back down there and have to have more stitches?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> Stay home.
>> Okay. Get you some rest. Okay.
>> Okay. Thank you.
>> All right. I love you. I'll see you later. Call me uh as soon as you wake up. I'll tell Bob. Don't worry about it.
>> I just hope that doctor don't come in here while you're asleep. Well, she'll wake you up.
>> Yes.
>> I hope.
Man, you know you got a good girl when the first thing she says after she sees the flowers. I just thought about this when I was walking out. She seen the flowers and y'all seen what she said.
They're so beautiful. But then when I turned the camera off, she was like, "How much was that?" Like, she wasn't mad. She was just genuinely curious. I told her I took them off somebody's grave.
>> Not a good idea.
>> Huh?
>> But they're in my face. No, your face is beautiful. She said her face is fat, but they got >> Yeah, because of the the dextrose.
>> Dextrose. What is the Is that like saline solution?
>> I think so. Yeah, >> they got to keep they got to keep you um like keep liquids in your body because they're not letting you drink or anything. Well, she can now. She just ate finally. She got some crackers and some >> soup.
>> Soup.
>> Yeah. And water.
>> Was the soup good?
>> Yes.
>> What kind of soup was it? Just broth.
>> Yeah, broth. Like the soap of meat, like pork soap. Yeah, that's it.
>> I bet that was delicious after not eating.
>> Yeah, I hope this dinner. They have a a little >> I haven't eaten either.
>> You don't?
>> I mean, I ate last night because uh Diana, her family's so kind. They brought me what's it called? A bento box. What's that called?
>> Uh crispy pa.
>> No, no, no. It was like a container like that folds over on itself. And she brought me salad >> and then >> um pork, corn.
>> Wow.
>> They're taking care of me, too.
>> Because I I tell Diana that uh give some another food. Uh Joe, >> bring Joe.
>> It was her youngest sister's graduation yesterday. So, they had a big big get together.
>> They're just family.
>> Yeah.
>> No other outside. They're just they're just eating food.
>> And Bob's a good boy. She's got a good son. He's been he he slept here all night.
>> Dina is sleep me whole night.
>> Oh, did Dena stay here all night?
>> Yeah, this morning she go home. Yeah, they replaced uh Bob and with the time Bob is come here a little bit there.
Dina is go home.
>> April ran me off.
>> You did. You didn't want me here.
>> No, because I know that you don't like to stay in the hospital, but no, you just visit me.
>> Yeah. Well, it worked out good because her son, her son and her nephew, they ran away from home, which is like not that they got mad yesterday cuz uh Diana, which is April's sister, was cooking for the youngest sister's graduation and the kids were driving her crazy. So, she fussed at them and they got they got mad and ran away from home.
But but they came to my house. It it isn't even a hundred yards from April's mom's house, but it came to my house.
>> Yeah. So, they were hanging out with me.
He fell asleep.
>> Yeah. Yeah. That was not It was nice. I had him washing the motorbike.
>> I was trying to keep my mind off of things. I'm ready to go. I'm going to go do the yard cuz we had that rain. The grass grew very high, very fast.
>> Well, you know, I'm talking about the other day.
>> So, now the grass is filling in filling in at very fast. Yeah, it's already up.
You know how I I weed eated like below the driveway? It's already higher than the driveway >> that fast. Just in a few days lower.
>> Well, I just want to stay busy cuz I'm worried about I was just thinking about you. That's why I couldn't eat >> it.
>> I know. Oh, yeah. Well, we should probably tell them like they ended up The reason why she's not being released until Monday.
>> Mhm. is because during the surgery they found out that the myoma was so big that they had >> the whole uterus and then it was very big and then my one ovary is removed also because it's very like >> she couldn't get to it. They couldn't get to it to take the myoma out. So they had to take one of her ovaries and because the right side >> remember you said the the the very big in the right side. So it's the one ovary is very close. So they need to be removed so that if they're if it not not remove the my one ovary it might be cause a bleeding.
>> So they should be remove the one ovary because it's very like >> close. Yeah.
>> Yeah. I've seen that. I've watched the videos like for 6 months I've been trying to get her to have >> Yeah, I know. I'll show the picture right here.
It was very big and it was bigger than what they said.
>> 20 cm.
>> 20 cm. But didn't they say it was only 11 with the ultrasound?
>> So, it's getting bigger and bigger.
>> Well, it didn't grow that much in a couple days.
>> Yeah. And the and the kilogram also is like 2 kilos, I think.
>> So, 2 kilogram of a mass inside of her belly. That's like carrying around a baby like a a maybe four or fivemonth old baby.
That's good.
>> Well, I'm glad it's done now, but she's okay. The doctor said everything went smooth. Um, she's just here for observation to make sure she has to uh have a bowel movement. Just like with pregnancy, >> you have to have a bowel movement before you leave the hospital. Did they say for sure it would be Monday or could it be tomorrow or you don't know?
>> I don't know.
>> So, it could be tomorrow. Maybe.
>> Maybe tomorrow or Monday.
>> Yeah, no problem. As long as you're good. That's the main thing.
>> Thank you so much.
>> Don't thank me. I'm not the doctor >> because you you always be there for me.
>> Well, yeah.
>> Thank you so much.
>> You're welcome. Appreciate >> that. It's my pleasure. I promise.
>> You're happy now.
>> Yeah. I'm happy. I was stressing out.
>> Yeah. You know, I don't like this stuff.
Especially I feel helpless cuz there's nothing I can do. You know what I mean?
I'm not a doctor. I don't know.
>> You're scared about me?
>> Yeah. Very.
is nothing like it's feeling different.
>> That's good.
>> I can I can move like side to side.
>> That's good. Did the nurse come get you?
I know that she's supposed to be She's getting ready to start walking, right?
>> So, the nurse will come get her at some point. And >> yeah, they're just every 1 hour after 1 hour, they monitor me.
>> Have you walked yet?
>> Not yet.
>> Not yet. Yeah, because that the time that I will be in the comfort room because I need to BP and >> Oh, yeah. They took her catheter out.
So, now she has to go to the bathroom on her own. That's good, though.
>> I can I can walk, but not yet.
>> But they gave you more uh suppositories.
>> Yes. So that I can poop.
>> And all you But all you've ate is those crackers and broths.
>> Yeah.
It seems like you would have to have more than that >> because not just very slowly the soap only.
>> Yeah, I understand that.
>> Anyway, thank you very much the flower.
You have many are uh like they pay attention of the flower, >> the nurses. Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> And very good sleep.
>> Yeah. That's I mean flowers don't really help much.
>> You said me that that's free in the cover shop. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. They let me have it. I told them I told them I said this is uh for April, my girlfriend in the hospital.
And they said, "April from YouTube in Dumagedi?" I said, "Yeah." They said, "Oh, it's free. She can have anything."
>> Ah, you're just teasing.
>> You always worried about the money. It was It actually really wasn't that bad.
>> It wasn't.
>> You surprised me. Well, I just I honestly I didn't have I didn't know what else I could do. I can't help with your your medical situation. I'm not a doctor. I didn't know what to do.
>> I can't feed you. I can't give you anything to drink. So, the only thing I can come up with is flowers and hugs and kisses. But I can't even give you hugs.
I can't even give you hugs right yet.
>> I'm scared, too.
>> Because I just like even I I talk it's like connected all. M. So you probably shouldn't be talking.
>> I I can talk >> slowly only.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. It's better than a little moving so that it's recover my whole body.
>> I'm just happy. I'm happy everything went went well.
>> I'm happy. So >> finally it's good for him.
>> I'll be happier when you get to come home though.
>> Yes.
>> Yeah. It's healing in the home. It's better in the home, too.
>> Yeah. Well, it's not so bad here. These This hospital actually has very nice rooms. They got cable.
>> Yes. everything. She's got Cinemax over here. I haven't had cable even in the US. I haven't had like cable TV probably I don't know 10 years >> for real. Like I never >> now generation they have a cable internet but here I don't know that the wife >> you don't even watch it. She don't even watch TV.
>> I have a phone. I have >> you know April watches April watches those uh those what is it the they're like soap operas but they're on Facebook. They're they call them their stories.
>> Yeah. Videos. Drama.
>> Drama. Drama stories. They're mostly Korean, aren't they?
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Korean.
>> Yeah.
>> Or Japanese or >> I remember Miss Jing used to watch those all all the time.
>> Yeah. Even you don't know. You don't understand that what their uh language.
They put the text. Yeah. They have a translated English. So, it's better.
>> It's just like our soap opers from back in the day.
>> Like my generation, my mom used to watch uh soap opers. They came on every day like at a certain time >> and people were into it. They were like all the characters, you know, you had the bad character, the good character >> usually was a moral to the story at some point.
>> That's normal.
>> You have a bad character and good character.
>> Oh, you got to have that good and evil story of the world.
>> Yeah.
>> Anyway, I just wanted to give you guys an update. Everything's okay. We just >> now we're just waiting on April to uh go to the bathroom apparently.
>> But even after that, you probably have to stay >> just for monitoring. Her doctor is so good. She flew to her mandatory meeting that she had to have. It wasn't Cebu, it was Manila, right?
>> And she's flying back just to Well, she's got other patients here, too, but she she's a good doctor cuz she's coming back just to make sure her work was done correctly, which is awesome. They have another doctor. She refer another doctor so uh they can monitor me >> while she's in the meeting.
>> Yeah, >> that's awesome. That's really good. Very good hospital. ACE doctor um >> every every hour they monitor me.
>> Yeah.
>> Although I wasn't happy with the 40% holiday raise. I think that's bad business. I don't know if the CEO will watch this or whoever the board members are, but it don't seem like they would make much money that way because people would know that the prices are higher and just wait till the next day like we did.
>> Yeah.
>> And we didn't have to pay that extra 40%.
>> Don't know what the bill's going to be.
But it's okay. Whatever it is, it is long as you're long as you're taken care of.
>> Yeah.
>> She said her face is fat because your face is fat. Yeah, >> because >> Yeah, >> my hands is look like no blood. It's very white.
>> That's because you probably lost a lot of blood during surgery.
>> But did they not uh put me this this one, Joy, is for for the in case if I need a blood?
>> Yeah, donor.
>> But they didn't need it.
>> No.
>> Well, your body's probably producing it like after you have surgery. I've been reading like crazy like all the things that could go wrong. I shouldn't have done that, but I was looking at what you're supposed to do to take care of it and all that stuff. And apparently, you do supposed to move around. It actually helps it heal faster. And one of the things that it does, it causes your body to repair itself faster. Like it produces more white blood cells.
>> Yeah.
>> Things like that >> because they always monitor.
>> You're so pretty.
>> Thank you.
>> Even though you're laying >> You're not fat. Now you're skinny. What are you talking about? You just lost two uh two kilos. You just lost 2 kilos in one day.
>> Yeah, maybe more than.
>> Maybe more than that.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Remember my my weight is like 49.
>> 49.
>> Yeah. 49.
>> Yeah. You're probably uh like 45.
>> It's like 47.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Cuz they took 2 lbs out immediately.
>> With the time that I >> You're not eating for two days. You might be malnutrition whenever you get out.
>> Yeah.
>> But anyway, um it's going to be short and sweet. I know everybody was um saying get well soon.
>> Yeah, thank you very much all guys. They concerned me.
>> Yeah, they were. I mean, this was that last video was the most comments I've had. I've gotten all kind of emails.
Tell April that we're praying for her to get >> surgery is successful.
>> Success.
>> Success.
>> That's awesome. You're so strong.
>> Is success.
>> You're so strong.
>> Yeah. Strong.
>> Always thinking positive, man.
>> Yeah.
>> Can't help but love April. Even in the or I wake up like I feel like they have something to remove in my >> They were still working on you.
>> Yeah.
>> And you woke up.
>> Yeah. I wake up like that.
>> And then back to sleep and I don't know.
>> Yeah.
>> That's why I remember because they cover hair >> so I cannot see.
>> Yeah. Oh, like a curtain. Yeah. Yeah.
That's good. You probably didn't want to see.
>> Then I feel like somebody is like getting my cutting my belly again. But it's not pain.
>> I know. He probably couldn't feel nothing, but I bet >> anesthesia.
>> He wasn't scared.
>> No.
>> I wish I was as brave as you.
>> No. Why are you scared? Are you excited to remove that?
>> Yeah.
>> After that, >> you ready to go ride a dirt bike?
>> Not yet.
>> Tomorrow.
>> No, not yet.
>> I'm just kidding.
>> Soon.
>> Soon.
>> Yeah, >> soon.
All right. Like I said, I just wanted to give you guys an update. I know everybody was concerned, but everything's good to go, thank God. And everything will be all right from here.
We can uh just get her better, get her healed up, and hopefully get some food in her. You know how she likes to eat.
You >> like eating. Me, too. But for now, I'm out.
