This video demonstrates the complete operational sequence of a long-haul international flight on an Airbus A340-600, covering pre-flight preparations, taxiing, takeoff procedures with rotation speed of 311 knots, cruise operations across diverse geographic regions including China, Central Asia, and Europe, and the final approach and landing sequence with go-around procedures when visual conditions are not optimal, illustrating the comprehensive workflow required for safe commercial aviation operations over 13-hour flight durations.

Shanghai to Frankfurt | Airbus A340-600 Full Flight(Cockpit+Cabin Views)13h Journey Over Asia&EuropeAdded:
Shanghai to Frankfurt. Yeah, it was A340-600, yeah. Last uniform check. Get [snorts] the hat and prepare the luggage.
Perfect and yeah, I let's head down to the lobby and uh into the bus. Thanks a lot for getting the luggage in the bus and fast safe to the airport of Shanghai Pudong. Last impressions, the weather was quite fair during our stay here and the traffic situation, well, it was quite okay as well. So, there we are reaching uh the Pudong Airport and uh yeah. The luggage is on its way and we're just looking for our gate. And uh there we are, Delta 77. There is the bird, our beautiful Airbus A340-600.
One escalator down and then we are there. The hotel X-ray is waiting for us. Short glance into the economy class.
And one level down, the lavatories.
This is very unique in the A340-600.
The economy class lavatories just in the lower compartment.
Economy class and uh then sneak into the premium economy class. There we are and uh of course, seat 7K. Always choose the window seat, you know that, or choose seat 1K in the first class. Wow.
This is most probably, besides the cockpit, the best seat of our plane, in my opinion.
All right, let's hop into the cockpit.
Uh everything is in progress, fueling is almost finished. Now, the routing. It's almost the same routing as on the way to Shanghai, Beijing, then Kazakhstan and um Azerbaijan, Black Sea towards Europe.
Flight time today, 13 hours and 50 minutes, which is quite a bit.
So, let's start with the pushback. Let's start up our four Rolls-Royce engines here in uh Shanghai and then we are following a British Airways 787 just in front of us.
Taxiing on to our departure runway, which is runway 17 left today.
Right on here. And as I said, the flight time calculated 13 hours and 15 minutes back on way to to Frankfurt. So, full length departure, almost to the maximum takeoff weight. And yeah, we are cleared behind that British Airways lineup. And the takeoff in original sound, original speed. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy that.
On runway 17 left. You have control? I have control.
Trust this is setting.
Rotation speed today is 311 knots.
100 knots.
V1.
Rotate.
Positive climb. Gear up.
We have a liftoff. And a straight out departure, then a right turn. The weather, well, quite fair, a bit cloudy during our departure, but only a few just small cloud layers then we're there and blue skies are waiting for us in a very short moment.
Yep, there we are.
And then the weather improved even on the way towards Beijing. This is one and comes to next to Shanghai.
Fortune almost at cruising level. Then it was my break out, the first break on this flight. So the temperature is fine, the lights are off and this light is off as well. So good night for now and in the meantime my first officer was senior first officer just circumnavigated those thunderstorms on the way to Beijing. And they did very well. I had a really nice break and when I returned we were still in China just approaching the city of Urumqi to the left, which is one of our annual holidays on the way to Shanghai or to Hong Kong.
So um cruising through China a very unique desert right below. It's a local desert, but I'm not sure which one it is. You see it's very The shape is very unique.
I don't know.
Some uh troublemakers also on the way, so we circumnavigated those in a very safe distance.
And then it was time to plate and send it to to our wonderful crew for those after this.
And yeah, we are now heading on to Kazakhstan.
And the weather in the afternoon is just quite challenging sometimes. You see those thunderstorms on the way. But it was not that bad.
This is the remainder of the Lake Aral and you see it fit better on the next one.
The next one it's almost gone. You see on this. So like decades ago it was filled with water and presently the more or more or less that's salty lake. And this is remainder of this lake area.
And from the shoreline of this lake, we're just heading towards the Caspian Sea right down below Azerbaijan in the city of Baku to the left. But look, we might be too far to identify.
Further down the road, this is Turkey and we are heading on to the Black Sea.
The weather is very nice in this part of the building. And from the Black Sea, there was some traffic a thousand feet above. Just on the way towards the seas.
I'm not sure about the airline. Maybe it's a Russian airline. I'm not sure if it is.
And from this, we are heading towards Bulgaria and Romania.
Reached Europe and just flying overhead Bucharest in a very few moments. And again, you look down to the two airports of Bucharest. And get a bit closer to the stadium there.
There they are. And yep. And then to the palace. And I've just learned the palace is the heaviest building on the way.
So, again, what learn?
>> [snorts] >> All right. Another traffic, another thousand feet above next to us and we are already over at the Austria.
And then entering Bavaria. On the way towards Frankfurt, the weather is very nice, 31 degrees. There is the colleagues from Bangalore, I guess, on the way to Frankfurt and we are just more or less following with the new brother. And uh crossing Bavaria, approaching the Main River in a very few moments and we're about to start our descent. And just passing by the Spessart Mountains, which are to be seen here very shortly.
The Main River as well. Just pass those clouds. Landing runway today is 25 left in Frankfurt. We're planning for an ILS approach and hoping for a visual uh swing over to 25 center. The Spessart down below, Aschaffenburg uh to the left, and we are about to do a left turn onto the final 402 left. Yes, this is uh the final left turn, and we are on final. The Main river down below, the city of Obernburg is uh there, and uh we are following the German Autobahn A3, passing Neu-Isenburg and went past by Offenbach. We are allowed to do the swing over if there is space in 25 center. We were lucky, so buckle up your legs, enjoy the landing from our first officer here on 25 center. Great. I'm going to go.
One more Right.
Right. Right.
Four.
Three.
One.
10.
Five.
Go around.
Sweet mercy me.
>> [snorts] >> Yeah, arrived safe and sound. Perfect landing. Thanks a lot to my two first officers and to our wonderful crew for this great rotation to China. We are [snorts] heading towards November 8th, and there's Frankfurt Tower, and uh approaching our parking position. Short glance out of the cockpit. Yeah, still concentrated after this this long flight, and there we are, turning into our final parking position here in Frankfurt Airport.
Yep.
There we are.
Moin.
Ja, danke.
time for the last checklist.
Secure the aircraft check is better.
Here is off. Am I off? Yeah, then off. Off. I think so.
Yes, off. Secure the aircraft check is better. All right.
Fire off.
Perfect. Fire off. End of duty. Thanks a lot Hotel X-Ray for this another uneventful flight to Frankfurt.
And yeah, do like the crew delivery.
Thanks for the crew bus driver to get us on time to our crew base. A last goodbye to our beautiful bird and then we are almost there.
Yeah.
Yeah, this is our crew base and thanks to our crew once again. So, time for me to fly home.
All the best and good night. Everything good.
