Let's dive into the forecast today. It's coming out a bit later today. So, current time is 11:25 making the video here. But as I move this into the day today, it's going to be a nice one out there for a lot of south and central Michigan. Mid to upper 50s. I do think we're going to see a couple low 60s across the very far southern tiers of counties in Michigan. But otherwise in the up 40s is your going rate. Unless you're by Naggoni, then at that point you're going to be stuck in the 30s up in the Kiwina as well. Northern lower right by the Gaylord area, surrounding regions, upper 40s for your highs, and as mentioned, South Michigan mid to upper 50s, if not low 60s the further south you go. Your Monday forecast is about a repeat for a lot of the areas here. In fact, almost carbon copy. We're seeing low to mid50s across South Michigan again, upper 40s in northern lower in the UP, 40s unless you're by the Mc Marquette region where we could be stuck in the 30s there. So, copy and paste day back to back here for your Sunday and your Monday. Taking a peek at the future radar up in the up today.
Could have a couple showers and grapple showers and perhaps some snow showers if you're lucky in some colder regions, elevated regions up there, but overall not seeing too much in the way of anything concerning. Monday, pretty dry day out there. Could have a passing shower by the Sue Staint Marie area, but otherwise a dry Monday is in store. So, backto-back days of decent weather out here in the state of Michigan. Talking about our wind gust for today and tomorrow, we're going to be gusting between 15 or so miles per hour to 20 mph or so across much of the state. Not a huge deal there. Monday, a bit calmer out there. Wind gust peaking right around 10 miles per hour as your gust.
So, a pretty calm day on your Monday.
When you combine Monday though with the calmer winds, we do still have to watch our fire conditions as well because Monday especially, we're going to see a drop in our relative humidity. So, it's going to be pretty dry out there uh for your Monday across central and southern Michigan there. I have to watch that carefully. Also, through the week ahead of us, watching it very carefully as well. Today even has some lower humidity values. We really want to see these values below 20 to 25 or lower. So, when we get to 25 or close to it, we're kind of borderline there for fire weather conditions out there. So, just for a baseline of what you guys looking for, 25 or so or below. have to watch it upcoming week though because we are going to warm up and that is next topic of discussion. Finally, after long last, we can answer your question of when you could plant your garden. Let's take a look into the 15-day temperature pattern. Confidence has grown over the past couple of days that we're going to see a pattern flip right around the 15th to 17th of the month here. Taking a peek of what happens. We're going to be in the 50s and 60s for about five or more days or so. We get to next weekend. It's like a switch got flipped. We're back up in the 70s and we're stable in the 70s here. This is based out of Oakland County just for reference. So, upper 50s all week long. Saturday the 16th, 77 for a high. Onward to 74. Backto back 77s. 68 74 68. The big news, check out the low temperatures for frost. We want to see temperatures in the mid30s or so. And after Tuesday, the 57 degree temperature right here, this is your Tuesday. We have 49, 44, 41, 55. I don't see a day in the horizon here that's even close to the mid-30s. Maybe in the long term we have one or two days to watch across South Michigan here. But I do think at long last after Tuesday of this upcoming week. I do think your odds of planting your garden and being okay increase dramatically. But again, we still could see a few days mixed in in the long term that we could flirt with flirt with frost potential. And also want to highlight in the up and northern lower your average frost continues into the early part of June. So if you're up further north, this doesn't really apply to you guys. But if you're south of US 10, south of Mount Pleasant down to the Indiana Ohio borders, I think you are pretty much safe after Tuesday to plant your gardens.
Also, good news, if you didn't catch on to this, warm weather is on the horizon and it is going to be here to stay for a little bit longer, hopefully permanently as we move into the summer time frame.
But after this week, everything is coming together. And with this as well, we'll have to watch our severe weather chances as well because the overall pattern in the end of May looks to be supportive of severe weather. Whether that applies to us, the Great Lakes region, the Midwest, I don't know just yet. But I do think the pattern also becomes more active in late May. So something to watch there. Currently though, no days ahead of us to watch for severe weather. It should be a cooler and more pleasant week. If you are a cool weather lover, enjoy the next 5 to 10 day, 5 to seven days as they come.
But overall, we have warm on the horizon. That is your forecast update today. You guys enjoy your Mother's Day out there. I'll be back on here tomorrow for forecast update video. In the meantime, like I said, stay safe, enjoy the beautiful day out there, and happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there.
