You might talk about the values and morals and whatever but to get the job done politically it's difficult to fault him.

Um it is being said that this uh what's the name of this governor now from the east has been tipped to be the next Senate President and so the work has started now and um the thinking is that the there was there was a rule that came up uh that said that it's only a Senate somebody who had been a senator in the first and second republics that can put himself forward to be Senate President.

[00:00:57]Uh but it looks as if the Jagaban is preparing himself for after 2027, he doesn't want to be caught by surprise.

[00:01:10]And one thing you can't take away from that man is when his eyes are on something, that's it. Unfortunately, the president's eyes will be on many things, especially the welfare of the people, but he concentrates on politics, and that's what it is. And what's the name of the governor again?

[00:01:54]I don't think the leadership of the Senate is a training ground. Um I I don't think so for trial and error. Um it makes sense in fact it makes sense for the person to be wellversed in the rules and the practices in the Senate. But politicians don't think that way. They always think out of out of um personal interest. So it says that the Senate rescended the commercial amendments of a standing order following concerns by lawmakers that some of the provisions were inconsistent with the 1999 constitution. There's always something you can dig up to put to help your argument. Um and it says that the reversal came barely days after the upper chamber amended portions of its rule. a move that had triggered controversy and sharp exchanges among senators. Anyway, this one not concern us. We have 2027 to face first. Um when we move from there, we will probably know what to do. So that is my take on that. And a quick one on Sunday. If you don't have anything doing on the island, I'd advise that you don't come to the risk area because the story here says that 55,000 Nigerians, I don't know how they got where they got the numbers from, are built to converge on Tafabala Square here and they having a special congregational prayer for Nigeria and President Ba Tonobu and it's been arranged by the director general of the renewed hope network, Muhammad Dol the question I just want to ask. [00:04:36]See whilst um quite a number of people advocate advocating for change and for this and for that the major concern of the APC is that they are forever terrified whether you like it or not of Peter Obi that's what it is so anything that will stop him now part of then but the fears are different from various angles Peter Obi is not liked by any of the politicians because for the simple reason that we know or we are almost sure that it will not be business as usual and politicians like business as usual if you get what I'm saying and so part of it okay so for some of them who are from the north they are saying to themselves oh we have an says they have some agreement between Peter B and the north but experience has shown that hey if this man should this brought this thing on television I try to run. Sorry for the distraction.

[00:05:39]If this man should if this man should gain power by whatever means and he's there for four years, >> the the next four years might just be automatic if even if he says that his supporters might push him to do it. So they feel safe with the Jonathan who will do just one time.

[00:07:26]He lost in his word. Even IBB oh thought that he can ride on the past glory. He put his feet in the water and quickly withdrew.

[00:07:36]But Jonathan says that he's going to consult.

[00:07:40]Um there is a why Jonathan is yet to make up his mind. Clauses sources close to him told the dators that he's actually confiding with his political allies on whether he should join the free. How long is it going to take him to to consult with these political allies? The source who worked with this expert in office said his court team is already working around the clock.

[00:08:06]Ah there there there there but there's a gentleman called professor Ojo he's a political scientist and as usual daily trust I've done about two pages of this story so it's quite wide and he says that president Jonathan should be wary of psychopans willing willing on him to join the presidential race said that the Jonathan's attempt to recontest amounts to political gamble due to the legal hurdle rules before him. You know, he's in court. There's a court case on whether he is eligible to run or not.

[00:08:43]And um a political analyst Zio and Professor Sal Duda they have dismissed calls by some urging President Jonathan to run saying his chances of victory are very slim. They argued that Jonathan had largely stayed away from partisan politics since leaving office in 2015 and had instead focused on his peace building activities across Africa. Let me read this quote.

[00:09:14]He says, "This man has decided to mind his own business, certifying peace off peace efforts, observing elections across Africa and running his foundation. Why dragging into partisan politics now? The question you even ask yourself is in the real sense of it how acceptable is Jonathan to the polity in real terms. In real terms h remember that remember that it takes it has taken the perceived non-performance of president Tinubu for people to now say okay bring back Jonathan who a lot of us thought also performed badly during his time. What he had to his name is the fact that he he he did not encourage any form of violence and his usual quote that he his victory at the death of the death of his ambition is not what anybody's not anybody thank you very much top knuckles for that one >> yeah you know and if I if I were him I just retire quietly which his wife has also expressed >> um lady whatever But then in politics all kinds of intriguing up. So the question you ask yourself is is Jonathan being used as a spoiler.

So, the latest development we have is the FD has, you know, started making moves um to get Nigerians out of South Africa uh those who are willing to go because this thing might die down and I hope it does if handled right. the the the the minister for foreign affairs Mrs. is Odum Goduku. She according to her the South African according to Odum Godu the South African minister for the South Africans have expressed reservations about Nigeria's evacuation plans but she has insisted that Nigerian government cannot ignore the continued harassment and alleg extra judicial killing of it citizens living in South Africa. She explained that the protest held on Duban on Wednesday.

[00:15:10]Though the protest held on Wednesday did not degenerate into violence due to the heavy deployment of security personnel.

[00:15:18]Nigerians in the areas were advised by the Nigerian mission to shut their businesses and stay indoors for safety reasons. She also expressed concerns over what she described as the inflammatory rhetoric and hostile actions by anti-forigner groups in South Africa, warning that the situation post serious risk to the lives and property of Nigerians and other African migrants.

[00:15:43]So it's not Nigerians only, it's other >> African migrants. Um however there's this part says economics caution against blanket sanction on South African companies says meanwhile as sanctions continue to mount over the incessant xenophobic violence against Nigerians. Economic experts have warned against imposing blanket sanctions on South African companies operating in Nigeria saying that it would amount to self sabotage.

[00:16:15]The call from caution. The call for caution came amid repeated calls from various quarters including Senator Ole who had suggested things that um he had suggested remove taking back licenses and so on and so forth. It will pass.

[00:16:43]Um look look at even in the UK when you have the birth of the party like the reform party hidden behind it hidden behind it I is is an agenda for the so-called um uh uh bonafide English people to take back their government. So it's it's a worldwide phenomenon. It has to be handled well. It has to be handled diplomatically because it can't afford for it to blow up. remember that this South African thing is not against Nigerians. It's important that you know that it's, you know, it's against all other Africans and it's simply the fact that the South African indigents think that the non non-indigents are taking their jobs and that could happen anywhere.

H I I I don't I honestly don't know who advises our president was was originally appointed ambassador and that surprised many of us but I don't want to go into that and of course he he was sent to Germany and he says that Germany did not reject him whether they did or not he's not going to Germany and now he has been redeployed to South Africa where we have we have a very serious situation that demands that demands a lot of tax that demands a lot of diplomacy which I do not think has we are going to this is our country at stake here and we are not going to be nice about it I don't think he has the temperament you know I don't think he has the temperament And I'm surprised he could be put in such a sensitive position.

[00:19:24]Let's go to the power sector. There's uh an interesting story here. Court convicts ex power minister M over 33.8 billionaire fraud orers arrest.

[00:19:55]This might judge well. A federal high court has convicted man over an arrested 3.8 billion naira of fraud and money laundering case filed by the EFCC. The court also ordered his arrest after he have failed to appear for the legy of judgment. And I'm I'm wondering what do you mean he failed to appear?

[00:20:23]>> And when you when you say you order the arrest of a man who has that held that the prosecution had proved his case beyond unreadable reasonable doubt and found the former ministry guilty minister guilty on 12 counts.

[00:20:42]I I think that we're still playing lip service to the not just corruption to the issue of of these people who invade our treasury and cut away so much who they want and not don't no longer want to dip their hands in the cookie jar.

[00:20:57]They want to grab the cookie jar and run and run away with it. So you get and until we are ready to have what I will call decisive punishment in some countries is the death penalty. Until maybe we should go apply charia and cut do cross amputation cut left arm and left leg and right leg until we are able to do things like this these kind of stories will happen.

But um my question is what if nobody um is behind this? What if truly he independently on his own wants to come back >> with the way >> would that be such a bad thing >> with the way he was ousted he lost an election >> so it won't it's there so there won't be anything new >> but there wouldn't be any strong desire I am sure that Jonathan himself as a human being is glad about the opportunity God gave him >> maybe he's looking at it that well I I told you people I warned you people now you're here.
