This forecast treats its audience with intellectual respect by grounding local weather in the actual physics of atmospheric ridges and troughs. It is a refreshingly technical alternative to the superficial sensationalism found in most mainstream weather reporting.

So, we're going to have a very nice weather pattern settling in for a substantial amount of time. There are a few blips on the radar we're going to have to discuss, but it's not much. Uh, we're going to have a kind of like a a little bit of a trough here today. It's not much, but it's going to get us back to near average temperatures. It's just a little bit of a tr this trough that's off to our north and east. Uh, but it's enough to get temperatures back to near average. So, yesterday we were in the 80s. Today, we're 73 to 78. Refreshing, right? Winds are going to be out of the north. It's going to be beautiful today. Uh, really no complaints can be found about that.
mostly sunny skies at least to start as you see here with no clouds in the sky in the morning and then in the afternoon just a mix of uh sun and clouds and it should be a really nice afternoon and then Friday is going to be even less clouds than this. So we're going to be looking at mostly sunny skies on Friday as well. Temperatures going to jump up a little bit because there is a cold front moving down from north. It's very hard to see here because there's not much with it, but there is a an opportunity with this system here moving over New England. It's going to ruin their weekend, at least the start of the weekend up there Friday night and Saturday. Uh we're not going to be dealing with any of that, but there is a cold front moving moving at us overnight Friday night. A little tail on here.
It's hard to see, but here's the air low pressure. There is a little bit of a tail right here. Okay, so maybe our northern area areas get a quick shower out of that on Friday night, but it wouldn't be much of anything at all.
What that's going to do is once this passes off to the south and east as it's doing and moves offshore, we have even cooler temperatures coming in for the weekend. So, we're looking at higher uh temperatures a little bit higher on Friday by a couple degrees. 76 to 79 as a temperature spread as you see above me. Then we get to the weekend, we're looking at lower 70s for highs, 70 to 75 degree range across the entire area for the weekend. Wouldn't be surprised if some areas in the upper far northern areas here, you know, uh in elevation especially, you don't get out of the upper 60s for highs on Saturday. And that's because we have a this air mass sitting over us here uh on Saturday. is going to be a little bit cooler than average, but uh that's going to be just for a day. Uh start to moderate a little bit by the time we get to Sunday and Monday. Uh still below average going through this entire period, but eventually the temperatures are going to increase as we get into the second half of the first week of June. So, we start off first three days of June still slightly below average. I think the fourth onward, straight through about the middle of the month, we have this near to slightly above average temperature regime that's going to be coming in. Uh which is pretty nice. So, right now, we're going to be a little bit cooler and that's because of this. I jumped ahead of the image there. This is the omega block that I was speaking about uh pretty much the last couple days here. But this represents the Gleek Greek letter omega here and a big high pressure in the center of the country.
Very strong ridging there as a result of that. But we're going to be on the troughiness side of this. Uh not the full trough here. That's going to be a little further east. We get places like over eastern New England, especially northeastern New England. Uh and then up into Atlantic Canada, they're going to have some cooler temperatures, some showers, some uh short ways running through there. I don't think we're dealing with any of that because we're too far to the west. Uh again, Friday night might be a few showers here on the outer periphery of that cold front, if you want to call it that, associated with that uh wave moving across New England, but it doesn't look like a big deal. Uh next one we're going to watch is another one of these little short waves coming through uh early next week.
And on the outer periphery of that, uh here's Monday. It doesn't show anything here. or we get to Tuesday on the out of the outer periphery of the departing ridge. This same ridge that's moving through our area is going to start breaking down at this point and it starts moving out right there. Soon as it starts moving out, it might take a parting shot here on Tuesday. So, we left a nice isolated shower in the forecast for our eastern areas here across New Jersey, maybe far eastern Pennsylvania. Might see an isolated shower later in the day here on uh Tuesday, but other than that, we're back to partly cloudy skies on Wednesday with temperatures increasing. do think again once we get to Wednesday of next week which at that point is Wednesday is the uh that's the 2nd of June uh and second and third I think you're still about near average and once you get beyond that I think we're get late week and the following weekend not this weekend but the following weekend we'll start getting into the 80s again with temperatures that are a little bit more summerlike and then again near to slightly bel to slightly above average temperatures will continue through about the middle of the month I'm meteorologist Bobby Marchress that is your outlook for May 28th, 2026. Have a great Thursday.
