I Put the Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD on a 38° Hill and Here's What Happened

[00:00:02]Most robot lawnmowers out there that fail on hill climbing is because they're two wheel drive. But then you get a four-wheel drive like this one and then they tear your turf when they turn. The new Motion Luba 3 solves both of those problems. We're going to show you why, plus more. All right, let's just do a quick unboxing then so I can show you what's in this box as I take it out.

[00:00:31]This company claims that this is the world's first robot lawn mower that has triusion on it. So, what does the company mean by triusion? Three things that help it navigate. They all work together. Let me break it down for you.

[00:00:44]Starting with the liar. For all intents and purposes, lidar is lasers and radar that shoot out in a dome around this entire thing. So, it's always mapping your perimeter. You're not even going to believe this. This thing shoots out 70 m 230 ft that way, that way, that way, that way. It creates that big of a dome over this. That's obviously not good enough to make this accurate. Also, we got the artificial intelligence eyeballs right there. Two cameras on there that identify over 300 different objects. The cameras working with that twice as good now. Sees that object, sees that object, tree, wall, and now they're working together. Also, while we're talking about the cameras, very important on this, this is a new upgrade for this mower right here. It has the new AI chip that is looking through those eyeballs right there. It's called the 10 Topps AI chip. It's just new top-of-the-line technology for running that. It sees more objects and everything. It sees it, it classifies it, and it rroots itself.

[00:01:43]I have to say one more thing about the AI vision on this. This is unbelievable to me. It will actually see how tall and how thick your grass is and it adjusts the speed of the blade accordingly also making it more efficient.

[00:01:59]Those two things maybe not good enough by themselves. Now they add the three thing the third thing of the triusion which is your net RTK GPS. Uhhuh. What's that stand for? Net for network. Uh GP GPS we all know global positioning system working on the satellites and the RTK. This is very interesting. The RTK is a a part that they add on to the GPS sort of. It stands for real time kinematics or something like that. What it does, GPS by itself is accurate to within a meter. RTK added on to that brings it down to being accurate to one centimeter. Obviously very necessary for a robot lawn mower, I say. So, all those three things right there all combined together and work together to make this one of the most accurate mowers ever.

[00:02:47]We're getting into that right now. We'll show you all about it. Four wheels all driven independently. Yep. They all have their own individual motor.

[00:02:56]This is what all-wheel drive or what I like to call four-wheel drive actually means on your lawn.

[00:03:02]Now, listen very carefully. This is so important. I don't care what lawnmower you have, robot lawnmower, update the firmware as soon as possible. A lot of stuff on this has already been fixed through the firmware. Get it. On most of you robot lawnmowers out there, you're going to see this. Come here. Have a look. You're going to see this little dish kind of thing with two little metal pegs on that. That is for your rain detection. That little dish fills up with water and it connects those two metal pieces together. And then the robot lawn mower knows that it's raining outside and it'll go home and charge.

[00:03:36]Oh, speaking of thick grass, the Luba 3 all-wheel drive has changed the design of their cutting discs because of grass clogging and thick grass. Let me show you what that means. Here's what we mean by grass clogging in the blades. Come in here and have a look. This is one I got like three years ago. Look at these blades. They're flail blades. Same as on the Luba, but they get stuck. They're supposed to spin around freely. But if you see this, these things are completely the disc is completely flat.

[00:04:02]The blades are completely flat where these bolts that hold it on and pivot actually are hitting the grass before those blades are. Now look at what Luba 3 did with their new design. Check this out.

[00:04:15]Well, first of all, there's two discs, way more blades, but we're not talking about that right now. We've been using this thing on videos forever. Look at this. They still spin. No grass clogging. These are at an angle.

[00:04:28]The tip of this blade right here is actually closer to the grass than the pivot bolt is. Reduces the clogging and sticking on those blades. I can't forget to mention how quiet these things are.

[00:04:40]To me, they sound exactly the same as your refrigerator humming in the background. We all know what it sounds like to have your neighbor pushing around a gas powered lawn mower on a Sunday morning. You can have this thing mowing anytime, 24 hours a day. Your neighbors will never hear it.

[00:04:57]The Mimotion Luba series has gone through four generations of mowers. Each one more refined than the previous one till we're finally at this one. This is the new Luba 3 all-wheel drive. Can't get better than this.

You don't need anything. It just goes. It's ideal for odd jobs, especially small unreachable places where you can't get in there. It relies on its 360° liar and the dual camera AI to accomplish this.

[00:05:48]Automatic pathing. You can turn it on two different ways. You can either use your app if you want to or if you don't want to pull your phone out, you can just hit a couple buttons and hold them down and it starts. Anyway, couple important notes for you on the drop mo.

[00:06:00]It's actually designed to be in an enclosed area so it can't leave the target area. Just so you know, if you do use that drop m feature, it actually does map out, but it doesn't save it to the mower's memory. So remember that.

[00:06:12]All right, then just a short recap for you. the triusion system. It combines the 360 degree lidar, the dual camera artificial intelligence vision and the network RTK GPS to get it down to that 1 cm accuracy and has superior coverage under tree canopies and better lowlight nighttime operation. And it's got the 10 tops AI processor which allows for faster real-time obstacle detection up to 300 object types and improves decision making. the all-wheel drive Slope Mastery, which will climb a hill 80% grade, 38.6°.

[00:06:49]It maintains independent all-wheel drive for that superior traction on steep hills, uneven terrain. Remember, you don't have to bury that boundary wire on this one. It's got that adaptive cutting technology. It automatically adjusts cutting speed and power based on the grass density, terrain conditions. It optimizes the battery efficiency and ensures a consistent cut. improved structural durability, the smart battery management which allows you to set the custom charge limits and the high capacity mowing up to 215 minutes of run time per charge.
