Thunderstorms dissipate as the sun sets because they lose their energy source, and warm, muggy conditions with low precipitation probability are expected to continue through the weekend, with temperatures remaining above normal and only a small chance of rain.

DFW Weather: Rain to fizzle out as warm weekend unfoldsAdded:
A lot of you have been following our breaking news coverage of the fire all afternoon, but at the same time, Pete, we have we have a couple thunderstorms >> We have we've had like two thunderstorms, one of which is still severe. It's producing some dime to nickel, maybe up to quarter-size hail.
And I want you to take a look at this.
And there it is. It's to the southwest of Fort Worth. It's at that southeast corner of Parker County. And then south of there into the northern sections of Johnson County. So, this is Johnson.
This is Tarrant. And this is Hood, of course. So, right on top of you in Cresson, you're right there on the county line of Johnson and Parker County. So, we have that thunderstorm warning in effect for another 40 minutes until 6:00. It does not include downtown Fort Worth. Again, it's just this And really, candidly, I'm not quite sure why they they included Tarrant County, but they did. So, but it's really in Cresson right now. That's where the severe thunderstorm cell itself is. That's where the hail core is right now. This thunderstorm is moving toward you in Godley. It'll arrive there in about 15 minutes or so. And again, you could see some some nickel-to-quarter-size hail.
Cleburne, the same deal for you. If it holds together at 6:17, it's falling apart right now.
I don't know that it'll it'll arrive severe in Cleburne, but right now we'll keep an eye on that. And then Oak Hill, it'll arrive there at 6:22. Other than that, we have some couple little non-severe thunderstorms to the southeast of Bonham. Another one around Sulphur Springs. One just rolled through Commerce. These are not severe at all. I have another severe thunderstorm that's just to the on the east side of Abilene.
And that also could be producing some nickel-to-quarter-size hail. So, these thunderstorms will fizzle out in the next hour or so. It was a warm muggy day today. We finished 1° warmer than the normal high of 87. We hit 88. The morning low, 1° warmer than the normal low of 68. We hit 69. We've been as hot as 107 on this date back in 1927. No rain today, below normal for the month by an inch and a third, and below normal for the year by 3 in. Outside right now, it's 85. It's warm and muggy. It's not hot, but it's certainly warm and muggy variable winds at 3 miles an hour.
Pollen today?
Grasses, goosefoot, oak, and cottonwood.
All four today are on the low side and fungus today that's moderate. So, you saw where the thunderstorms are right now. Watch this. Here's 7:00. Now, as we lose the heat into the day as the sun starts to go dip toward the horizon, once the sun sets, they lose their energy and then they fizzle out. There's 7:00. See that? By 8:00 everything's gone. It's quiet overnight tonight with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies.
During the day tomorrow, did you see that? If you blinked, you may have missed it. My rain coverage tomorrow is less than 5%.
So, it's not even 10%. I'm talking it's less than five, four, 3% of us could pick up a shower, maybe a thunderstorm.
It's more likely tomorrow out in the rolling plains of Texas. That's 7:00 p.m. tomorrow. And then as we head through tomorrow evening, most of us are dry. We start to see some clouds increase across the area, but my rain coverage tomorrow is west of Fort Worth and then my rain coverage as we head through Saturday pretty similar. Low coverage as we head through Saturday.
Here's 8:00 in the morning on Saturday.
Watch this. There's noon.
I don't have a lot of rain. There could be a shower or a thunderstorm late in the day to the west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, but right now that's about it. Not a lot of rain in my forecast for the next through the weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 72, what little bit of rain we have out there right now, the thunderstorms, the one or two thunderstorms that are there now, fizzle out in the next 2 hours or less. 72, that's a low tonight. During the day tomorrow, we hit 92. A warm day. We'll have light winds. I have lots of sunshine tomorrow. The next 14, there's that low chance on Saturday, mainly west of the metroplex. Saturday's high is 93, 94 on Sunday. Most of us are dry. Some low chances of rain Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week as we have highs in the upper 80s to lower to middle 90s.
10 to 20% of us could see some rain those three days. That's June 1, 2, and 3. And then as we look at the final seven of the 14 days, I have a couple of other days where we could see some low chances of rain. Otherwise, some warm temps as we head through the weekend.
Not a lot of rain, just warm and muggy temps continue right through the end of the month. Stay with us. WFAA at 5:00 continues right after this. [music]
