You're with the orthopedic trauma guy. I was like, "Yeah." He's like, "Nice to meet you." He goes, "Yeah." He's like, "Are you here?" I was like, "Yeah."
That's probably >> He's like, "Hey, listen. I got this young lady that's in a bad car wreck.
She got a pelvic ring fracture." He's like, "Can you help her?"
>> I think so. Let me look at her scans.
>> Britney Gibbs and Gibbs, >> my husband. It's a was a normal day for us. Um I'm a teacher, middle school teacher. My son, he's in he was in prek at the time and we were just we're going home to practice some T-ball.
I mean, it it's crazy. Like, it makes you really learn to not take life for granted because I mean, it literally can change in a split of a second on a beautiful day.
>> Um, and it's just I mean, you just kind of look at life a lot different.
>> And her iPhone hit the dash so hard that it registered in the iPhone as as a wreck. So, it sent me a pin to exactly where they were.
I'm not going to recommend driving like I was driving, but I got I got to where I needed to get to. I beat everybody there but the first deputy.
Um, I was there in 14 minutes.
I didn't know the extent of my injuries and they were trying to keep me as comfortable as possible. But I remember him walking in and I remember asking him if he was a vet. I was thinking about a veterinarian. veterinarian >> because he's in a cowboy hat and blue jeans like just like a normal person.
>> I don't know if I'm going to be able to answer questions.
>> Her injuries were severe, right? And uh just not only her pelvic fractures, but her uh her abdominal injuries that Dr. Linhardt had to take care of.
>> So, we were kind of in that limbo stage of okay, we need we know something needs to be done.
>> A nurse come in and she's like, "Oh, well, let's just see. We we have a new trauma guy starting tomorrow. We don't really know if he can do it, but let's just see. And it's just it was just like >> miracle after miracle.
>> What I do know is just her resilience and her determination to get better and the support of her of her husband Zach.
They are just a amazing family and uh we're we're such a pleasure to work with. They did all the work. I was just uh um there to help guide them. what they feel like.
>> I mean, obviously, I couldn't walk, I couldn't sit, couldn't stand nothing. As a mom with I mean, he was five at the time, she was three. I mean, I couldn't even hold my kids. So, going weeks without holding my kids is what really got me. He told me that, you know, hopefully by the next visit, the end of May, we would we would see about standing up. And he walks in the door, looks at me, he's like, "All right, give me a hand. Stand up." on life. I mean, he held my hand the whole way through.
>> Being able to see the patients to be able to return to, you know, uh, their normal life. Uh, I believe she ran her first 5K this past October.
It was a good outcome or a great outcome actually. So, >> he is my guardian angel. He came in at the right exact moment that we needed him and he stayed with us through every step. He answered every question we have and he has become a family member to us because he saved us in more ways than one and I will forever be thankful for him. He He is my angel. He'll always be my angel.
