[00:00:44]We are traveling on another important road project under Ghana's big bush infrastructure initiative. We are journeying from Timan in the Bunu east region through in Konia all the way to Wii in the Buno region on the 32.6 6 km Timan in Kunia road project. This road corridor is one of the busiest transportation route in this part of Ghana because it connects major farming communities, trading centers and important towns between Bunu East and Bun regions. Every day commercial drivers, traders, farmers, students and travelers use this road to move goods and services between Timan and Weni. The contractor handling this important project is Volta Impex and work has already started with roadside clearing from Aurora towards Weni. Heavy equipment and construction activities are beginning to appear along the corridor as preparation works continue.

[00:01:36]During this journey we passed through several communities from Timan including Krobo Jabri Acro Aurora Abu Ayaso and finally Weni. Although portions of the road are currently rough and difficult to drive on, this project is expected to bring major relief to road users after completion. The rehabilitation and upgrading of the road will improve transportation, reduce travel time, lower vehicle maintenance cost, and increase road safety for drivers and passengers. The importance of this road cannot be estimated. Timan is one of Ghana's biggest commercial house and market centers. Peni also serves as important economic and agricultural town. A good road network between these areas will boost economic activities, support local businesses, improve access to healthare and education, and strengthen regional trade. The big push initiative by the government of Ghana is focus on accelerating infrastructure development across the country, especially road network that support economic growth and connectivity. Project like this help open up rural communities and improve the movement of agricultural produce from farm to markets. Roadside clearing is also an important stage of the project because it creates space for road expansion, unit construction, improve visibility for drivers and safer transportation conditions.
