Muscle soreness, known as Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS), is caused by microtears in muscle fibers during exercise, which trigger an inflammatory response including swelling; this inflammation is a natural part of the muscle repair process and typically peaks on the second day after exercise, making it a normal and expected response to physical training rather than a sign of injury.

What Causes Muscle SorenessAdded:
probably heard of things like microtears or maybe in my instance some mega macro tears in the adductor squeezer.
Uh so there's muscle damage that's being done. When anytime there's muscle damage, there's going to be inflammation. And part of the inflammatory process is swelling. So swelling is a part of the process that causes pain. And then the other components of inflammation is part of that pain. And you can tell and that pain is called DOMS, delayed onset muscle soreness. And often times it is more sore second day. You hear it referred to as second day sore.
