Newton's First Law states that an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced external force; this law explains why objects continue moving in a vacuum without friction, why balanced forces don't change motion, and why objects maintain constant velocity when no net force acts on them.

Newton’s 1st law in 5 levels #physics #newton #law #short #simpleAdded:
Newton's first law in six levels of difficulty. Level [music] one, you punch Bill in the face. Bill says he doesn't feel it. He thinks you are weak. You say air resistance slowed your punch down.
[music] Your punch will continue motion until slowed down by another force.
Level two, you push Bill. Bill moves back. Bill pushes [music] you back. You are equally strong. Motion does not change if all forces are balanced. Level three, you find a cannon. You put Bill in the cannon. You shoot Bill into outer space. Bill calls you. He [music] asks why he isn't slowing down. You say it's because space is a vacuum with no friction. Level four, [music] Bill's car broke down. You tow Bill's car. Months pass and you still tow. Bill puts on 20 kg. You start to [music] slow down. You don't know why you don't stay in motion with the same speed. There is an unbalanced force acting [music] against the car. You throw Bill off a cliff.
Level five, you are playing ice hockey with Bill. Bill gets injured. You hit the hockey [music] puck. You think the puck will stop. You think that after the push ends the net force is zero. You don't realize zero force doesn't mean zero motion. If an object is already moving, it [music] keeps moving at constant velocity. Bill gets hit again.
Level six, you invite Bill round for tea. Bill leaves the tea on the table.
You tell Bill [music] that his tea is falling. He quickly goes to save it. He knocks it off the table. Bill is angry.
He said the tea wasn't moving. You said the weight of the tea is greater than the reaction force. It's still moving, but Bill doesn't see it.
