When modifying vehicles, mechanical systems often require adaptation to accommodate new components; for example, installing a 200cc engine on a drift kart required flipping the axle to correct rotation direction, relocating brake components, and adjusting chain tension to ensure proper forward movement and functionality.

I Made The Ultimate Grass Drift KartAdded:
Last year, I built this crazy 72vt drift car. But as soon as we drove it, we found out this thing didn't have enough power. I was using this Amazon 72 volt kit with 5,000 W and it was just overheating and burning out the motor.
So, in this video, I'm going to be installing this massive 200cc engine.
So, this thing's got more than enough power to drift on any surface. As soon as I put the engine on, I discovered we're going to have some major issues.
The sprockets's on the wrong side, the brakes on the wrong side, and the frame's going to need some serious modifications. So, I planned on mounting the engine like this, but I soon realized it's spinning the wrong way.
So, we'll just be going backwards. So, I've got to spin the engine round, either flip the axle or move the sprocket to the middle, modifying the frame here and here. With that being said, I think it might just be easier to flip this axle as this brake mount is removable, unbolting from this side and this side. So, I think I'm just going to move the brake caliper around, find a longer brake hose, move the sprocket to this side, and then get this engine mounted.
So, with that brake mount being removable, it was much easier to just flip the axle, and now the engine's rotating the right way to the sprocket, so this thing will go forward instead of just going in reverse. Now, I definitely won't be needing this.
This brake line was just long enough.
So, that's one less job for me to do.
So, I got the engine on where I think it needs to be, the seat on where I think it needs to be. I had to trim a little bit off this brake caliper, but I'm just going to sit on it and see with this new seat.
Yeah, I think that'd be perfect. Might move the brake forward just a tiny bit cuz that's about as far back as we can go. And yeah, then we'll be sliding in no time. So yeah, let's get the chain on, engine in, and then I think I'm going to start making a throttle, hook up a kill switch, and I think that's just about all we need other than a good lick of paint cuz this thing is currently the rust cut. So, I'm going to get the chain on first, and that's going to determine how far back we have this engine mounted because just one or two lengths will have this engine move forward or back roughly an inch. So, I'm going to get the chain on, cut to length, then get the engine mounted, and have it on sliders so we can, like I say, we can get it adjusting forward and back to tension the chain.
Are you a That's the engine mount done. I just need to find some bolts to get this thing permanently mounted down. But next, I'm going to move on to the throttle. I'm pretty much just going to make something similar to this, but obviously to pull a cable rather than push a brake. So, I made the throttle up just like the brake, and I put it on these little sliders so we can adjust it forward and back. I'm going to try and cut all this junk off the end of this throttle cable cuz it's the only one long enough I can find.
And then make up some sort of bracket down here so we can hold it. And then something to also pull the cable.
Get a little bit of potion in her.
Oh >> Oh god.
>> Oh no.
>> The fuel can is rubbish. I can't remember which way these chokes go on these engines and I haven't actually heard this engine run. So, we're going to see warm up and we'll get ready.
Okay, back in I can't believe you got through it with drift tires.
>> I know. Through a drift guy. It was actually pretty capable.
>> You could even push it through.
>> Did you plug the kill switch in?
>> Yeah.
>> I don't think it will stay in for very long.
>> I think if we go down by the lake, it'll be a lot smoother.
>> Yeah.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
I still think we need a bit more power to get the wheel speed up.
Fire you want.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Right, that's all we got time for in this video.
See you next week.
I'm going to get this thing cleaned up, painted. Wait till you see the color.
And we're going to tune this engine up with the cheapest parts I can find on AliExpress. Hopefully it doesn't blow
