Nottingham Forest's 2025/26 season was characterized by significant managerial instability, with four different managers (Nuno, Ange Postecoglou, Sean Dyche, and Vitor Pereira) taking charge throughout the campaign. The season began with Nuno Espírito Santo's controversial departure after public criticism of the club's recruitment process, followed by Ange Postecoglou's brief tenure, then Sean Dyche's appointment in October, and finally Vitor Pereira's arrival in February. Despite these challenges, Forest managed to survive in the Premier League after being bottom of the Championship in the first six games, getting promoted, facing point deductions, and ultimately avoiding relegation. The season highlighted the importance of player happiness and squad unity, with Pereira's ability to communicate with South American players proving particularly effective. The panel discussed how Forest's transfer policy of signing multiple players to fill the squad (quality over quantity) contributed to their struggles, and emphasized that the club must now focus on building a stable squad to compete for European qualification in future seasons.

Right, where should we start, man?
It's been a roller coaster season, everyone. Roller coaster season, and we've had ups and downs.
Who's start Who we starting with? Who we starting with? You start with you, Dylan. You talk too much, so we start with you first.
Um Dylan.
See you then. What How do you think of it?
Yeah.
Skin of our teeth, or do you know what to look back? It'd make a one hell of a Netflix documentary. Tell you the truth, you know what I mean?
Funny enough before I come on I was just flicking through X and I got the interview up with Nuno going, "We've got three days to go before the start of the season. We're not ready for this."
And how it's all panned out from then to now is just amazing. You know what I mean? It's We've had it We've had the ups, we've had the downs, we've had the Euros.
Everyone's enjoyed it. Everyone's probably put their heads in their hands and started crying. You know what I mean? Nuno leaves, then we get Nuno and he leaves, then we get Lage, then Lage leaves, and then we get Pereira. You know what I mean? Who could have Who could have thought four managers and we still survive.
Yeah.
Mad, isn't it? You know what I mean?
Nothing like That's the That's Do you know what? We break records all the time. You know what I mean? We We were bottom of the Championship, we were first six games that season, we get promoted, we get docked points and we still survive in the Premier League. You know what I mean? It's just It's just They try to get rid of us, but they can't do it. No.
That is true, you know. That That'd be a fantastic Netflix. People would want I think we should shout out to Pat. Can we make it a Netflix cuz it cuz I everyone watch it with Morgan's face on it cuz that would that would sell out. That would sell out.
>> I'd watch that, definitely. No, I wouldn't. I'd wait to watch that. I'd wait to watch it. I already have.
>> [laughter] >> Oh god, man. Before we get We've got Everyone's got the the legend the legend's all wacka wacka breaking records man. Shout out to Pat Lally, man. Shout out to [clears throat] Pat.
Pat and I think I need to shout out to Pat Lally, man. Need to shout out to Pat Lally, Pat. Wacka wacka Pat. So, yeah.
Shout out to Pat Lally.
Uh Listen to Nuno through the club and the boss. What does everyone think of that?
Um >> [clears throat] >> We'll talk about that later on. We'll talk about that later on. Um next up we'll talk about what Steve like I said, it's been a crazy season today. Um, what's your thoughts on it?
Yeah. Um, I've said it before on this channel, Ben, it's just been a really weird season because you go from midweek where you're just like, yeah, the excitement of Europe and you have the great pleasure of going away and and so on. But then on the weekend, then you're just a bag of nerves and you're just like, what are the chances we're going to stay up? I just wish we were like comfortable in mid-table where we could enjoy Not saying we didn't enjoy it, but maybe enjoy Europe Europe a little bit more than we did, if that makes sense, because when it came to the Premier League, we just >> [snorts] >> like the boys are going to probably echo it, we were swapping down, you know, and it is mental.
Like Dylan just said, since we've been up You made a good point actually, since when Cooper was first installed. Like if you would said to me, Ben, now, right, that commentary game when we went back in Christmas, right, that first game of that season when we went to commentary away, and if you would have turned to me and said, right, in five years' time, we would have survived the Premier League four years in a trot, we'd have been in Europe, yada yada yada, I would have just gone, what? I would have slapped you, Ben. You know what I mean? It's just I think this happened. You just slapped >> I probably did. Yeah, I probably did when we conceded our late goal. Yeah, but um, yeah, it's just mental. Just mental season. I'm I I'm one of these I know a lot of people say the guy the season is over.
I get the football blues. I'm just glad the World Cup is coming where I get a bit down when there's no football. So, I always got the urge. I know it's I'm happy that we stayed up and the season is over in that sense, but I am getting out this it then.
Leaving ASC was a bit like, oh well. Oh well, got a week now, another couple of months, and then it's, you know, the transfers and stuff bubbling up again, and then the excitement will come back.
So, just glad we stayed up and >> [clears throat] >> that Villa game, like I said yesterday, Ben, will just haunt me now for a bit. I'm still numb.
I want to panel. Is everyone still numb with that Villa game? Yeah. I've still not recovered, really. I >> think I will. Do you know what?
That That game That game hasn't hurt me as much as I can't remember the last game I really I probably go back to saying I won't say it then. You know the game I'm getting at.
It's probably that game.
Don't bother.
People who try I'm not going to say it.
You know I don't want to say it. I know what you're doing. Don't say it. I'll kick you out personally.
I probably say it's that game.
I haven't felt [clears throat] that low for a while.
It is that game. You're right.
I know what I'm mind reading you.
Yeah. It It rhymes with doc. Yeah. Of docs. Yeah.
Right. That That's Steven Pienaar. It's finished now. I'll say it again.
>> [laughter] >> Any more and you're out for good. Right.
See you. You have last warning.
>> [laughter] >> I'm like a switch. You always switch me on and off. I It's the worst Wi-Fi.
That's what I'll say. Um But you know what? I'll just I'll just say one thing, Ben. Can I just say one thing? If we got to that final, we would have won it. We would have won it cuz they were they were crap. Right. Did Did Well, did anyone watch the final because I watched the first half and that's it.
I didn't watch the rest of it. It still hurts me from that. So, I didn't watch it.
I didn't watch it. I watched the first half.
Um next up, we've got my mate Simon.
Um I know some people might have him on for tricky talks.
Simon, what's your thoughts on the whole season?
I think the overriding thing for me is a season of [clears throat] regret. I know you know I regret the way the Nuno thing played out at the beginning of the season because there was no need for it.
I regret appointing Ange in the first place. I regret that it didn't work out for Sean Dyche.
And I regret the way the team folded against Aston Villa in that semi-final due to Villa A being so good and all the injuries we had. So, they're the overriding things for me that kind of dictated the whole pattern of the season. A series of regrets that have effectively shaped the way the team have performed on and off the field this season.
What's your Do you Do you echo that, Rod, or what that what Simon said? Yeah, exactly. Yeah, what you're writing, son.
Yeah, it I think from the get-go, the way preseason panned out with the whole Gibbs-White saga that happened and Oh, forgot about that. Yes. Yes, selling Elanga and all that. I think they kind of knew it was going to be a bit difficult and then the whole Edu Gaspar fiasco. I think he kind of set us up to not fail, but it was going to be hard, wasn't it? And they're making such a hash of replacing him.
It wasn't until we got to like February when we appointed Vitor that things really started to turn around cuz I think Sean Dyche, in his own way, did his job, but it I just don't think it was going to work long-term. I don't think it was the right fit.
And And yeah, wrong definitely the wrong time for him.
Totally the wrong sort of fit. Um but, you know, I'm just glad that we at least had a decent last couple of months cuz that allows us to hopefully build on that into preseason into next season cuz I think we've proven that we're we're much better off um but we're much better side than where we actually finished. I think we're much higher than 16th.
Uh if we really focus on what we can do.
So, hopefully we can build on that next season. Have we learned from this, though?
The season, the mistakes that's happened, have we learned from it?
That's the thing.
I don't know.
Have we learned from it? I I think we have. I said Look who's in charge of Look who's in charge of charge of global basically what Edu's job is.
You know what I mean? They brought him back.
You know what I mean? And he's supposed to be really good.
I don't I don't I don't I don't know if you know, but I don't know if you know or panel knows.
Do you know this is his second spell at fires because Manakis kicked him out at the start, didn't they? Yeah. Because of he brought in wrong players and then Manakis thought what what I've done wrong. I've done something wrong. So, now he's brought him back in and he's brought him good players and he brought him good players in. So, I'm just going to I'm going to tell [clears throat] you this one as well, like does everyone Do you think fires was right to get rid of Nuno because Nuno did get frustrated with not getting players in.
I want to Who wants to start this one well? Was he right to get rid of Nuno? I I'll go.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah, I I reckon yeah, 100%. Do you know what I mean? I just said to you I just watched that video about three.
He's given an interview to you three days before the the Brentford game at home where we battered them and he's come out and he's said we're not ready pre-season which is a sham. This is a sham.
Sorry, but if you got you've got grievances to have with your your employer person who employs you and people around you, you go and speak to them privately.
You don't go and sit on national Do you know what I mean? National TV and air it all out. What It's only going to end one way. If any of those you know I've got to go out in the public and start blasting who we work for, there's only one winner.
Do you know what I mean? Let me let me flip it. Let me flip it then. I know everyone can.
What But what Nuno did last season, he got he got into seventh and I understand like Manakis wants to bring it. He's buying every bloody club left, right and center. He's brought He's brought a middle man in, Edu, just to sort it all out. Do you think Nuno should have had more power?
Or do you think that he Edu will tell him?
He's given less power though. So, I I do I have got a little bit sympathy for Nuno. He's a he's coach. I'm sorry, but But he didn't do it. Why he didn't do it? Yeah, but yeah, but Why he didn't do it, Glenn?
Yeah.
Going to sell for the Premier League and you got what I said.
I I understand, like I said, we didn't know what competition that we was in.
Was it in the conference or the Europa?
And then news like this all Oh, I need players in now. I need players in now, but That he Yeah, you At the end of the day, right?
He is employed to coach the team. That's what he's employed to.
He's not a manager. He's not It's long gone them days now where where you used to get the manager to run everything. Do you know what I mean? Used to pick the players, used to do this, sort of contracts out and all that. That long gone. Do you know what I mean? We're in a modern day of football where he's been told, "You're the head coach, so your director of football, your CEO, or whatever, they pick the players and basically they've just They've employed him to say, "Look, we give you a group of players, you pick them, you tell us what you want."
And work it that way. Do you know what I mean? So, I can see I can so I understand his frustration, but I'm I'm not being funny, but you telling me he did not speak to someone in that club two, three, four weeks before the first game of the season saying, "Where's my players?" And no one at that club turned around and said to him, "Hold on. Just Hold on. We're waiting for the competition because we can see what caliber of player we can get." He's only Do you know what I mean? Because then if no one spoke to him, then there is a massive miscommunication somewhere. Mhm. Does anyone Does anyone feel sorry for Nuno?
No. I think in any organization where there is a major structure change at the top, you've got to respect that chain of command. I mean, I work in a global organization where I see that a lot and no matter what the change is, you have to respect that chain of command because Dilan is right. If you go and whether you do this in public or not or or behind closed doors, if you don't respect that chain of command and you're going to lose your job, especially if you come out and and say bad things about senior management. So, yeah, it was it's worse, I think, for Nuno because it's a very much a public organization. It's all done in the public domain. There isn't it didn't appear to be resolved behind closed doors. So, I think it's emphasized by Forest being a sporting organization, but it happens at every every company. You have to respect that that chain of command.
Um mate, uh Dylan made a good point there about the head coach title, right? And he made a good point there in regarding like you think back Fergie was a manager, right?
Brian Clough was a manager.
Uh Arsene Wenger was a manager.
Now, Dylan is right. You got more head coaches. Now, you can use the Chelsea model [clears throat] of for example now, Alonso has always come in and he's been given the title of manager. Has he?
Oh, he's Yes. No, right.
Now, he's going to have more power than Liam Rosenior and Enzo Maresca, the guy before.
So, the recruitment of Chelsea been dreadful. So, now Alonso will have his own check his own short list of players he wants.
Nuno is in a position where, and this is what Dylan is trying to say, is okay, Edu wasn't old or angel, right? What we've heard of stories and him and Edu phone up blah blah blah.
Power trip and all that, but Edu would have gone and said, "Right, I've got you these players. Go and coach them.
Go and coach them. That's your job.
That's [cough] your job. Look, you you know, maybe he didn't fancy Hutchinson, which clearly he didn't. Maybe he didn't fancy Marquinhos, but go and coach them.
They're decent players at the end of the day. They're not the most terrible players in the same way far, but go and coach them. That's your job. And he spat his dummy out. He went on TV. He made himself look a bit of a an idiot, really. You don't do that. You do it you you pull Edu you call him in then Maroun Adjei Edu in a in a in a room and you you talk it out. And if he's not happy you say right here's my notice I want out.
But what he did he talked his way out of the job.
And he knew he's going to get a big fat check at the end of it. And for me I will never forgive him for what he did at our West Ham game at home. That was that was like that was like on a similar what Villa did with the Spurs game.
Threw it. Absolute I hate that in football. Disgusting. I don't want to think professional players go out and put see through a game or managers but sometimes it just stinks. And that that game against West Ham was and the the way he just left and then went to West Ham was just literally for me oh he did great for us last season but sorry I can't forgive him for that. On a football team. I think you're right Steve in but there is a in that Nuno was given a job and should have just got on with it but the key word here is collaboration. He should have been given the tools to do his job I.E. the players and he and Edu or whoever else is in charge of recruitment should have collaborated together to make sure he was given the right tools or players to do his job whether that was Hutchinson or Adama Traore who or whoever um where they failed was to simply give the players to Nuno without perhaps consulting him do you want this player or do you want that player? They should have worked together and collaborated in order for him to to get the players he wanted.
One one part we know we know we know we talk about all the circus we're throwing in the bin. We're missing one thing as well what happened with the whole Crystal Palace thing which happened before the season started. And that that that delayed our preparation. I think Nuno That's what I was trying to say Steve because that's why Yeah I will sympathize with Nuno on that one is that the preparation was bad and he probably felt frustrated with the politics. And you know on hindsight now I know we went did that promotion to Europa League but you know what if we had remained in the Conference League, we probably would have won it. So, would you rather be in the Palace's shoes now going to a final now this week?
It's what? If if we was in the Conference in the Conference League, I don't think we would have got the players that we had now.
Um no, I think I think we would have. I think we would have still would have signed Hutchins and then Macatee and then we would Yeah, I agree with you. I think we would have. Nah, I don't I don't think we would have won the Conference League. It's And and then I mean we would have gotten the season next season.
But Yeah, it's still European football.
But what players, ideally, if you go through the recruitment list of last year, what players stood out?
That's the first one. What's Who stood out? For me, two.
The only two that stood stood out by the by today is Jesus and uh Hutchins.
Uh Do you know what I mean? You could argue >> I'm going to say. PEOPLE IN THE CHAT, WHAT DO YOU WHO DO YOU THINK WHAT PLAYER STOOD OUT?
Last Last year, lads, who stood What What player stood out?
That was that we recruited. It turns out when we signed them or how they've been since, like, how successful they've >> Both Both could be any of them. Both.
I think Here's his He struggled to score in the Premier League until last few matches, but he I think he's got about 21 goals and assists in all competitions, so he he's done very well overall, really.
In next season, he's got to step up cuz he's not got those extra games.
Uh and I think in the end we've seen Jean-Kévin Augustin a really good player. Obviously, it took him a while to get in. But, I really like the look of him.
Um And then like we say, Hutchins, and it took him a while to get in. I think that yeah, the likes of like Back and Macatee, like Colin Mendes He as well.
He left for 23 million as well. Yeah.
Definitely happy. Definitely very happy about that one. I think there's some players we've signed that have clearly got got ability, but they just haven't shown it enough. Like Mangala and Bacuna.
And it's a it's a tough one now. In the summer like do we stick or twist with them? Do we give them another chance or do we upgrade them? I mean I I I could see us maybe keeping one of them potentially.
And we we go >> you Who would you keep?
Well, that's that's a difficult one, isn't it? I don't know who's been more more impressive.
Well, you know what You know You know what happened last summer, don't you?
You >> [clears throat] >> and they the Lingard transfer hurt us, right? We missed him massively. And Newcastle hated Oh, they hate I've been I've been watching Newcastle podcast today. They hate him. They want him gone. I'd take him back. I'd I'd take him back. I'd take him back.
Take him back to the guy. And he just suits our the way we set up and the way we play, right? That hurt us, but that being said, we still kept the core of the side. I think what they did, they piled literally Edu went, "Right, I need to stockpile the squad now because we got more games." And literally they just Okay, if they were panic signings, and literally we had a strong start 11, and we had a weak second 11, which showed up through the season. Bar a few towards the end under Victor Pereira, but for me, it was just like, "Right, get numbers in." Again, it goes back to Ben. I've always said that Forest have always gone for quantity over quality.
And that's been the problem.
This is why I'd rather just sign four, five, six players than sign 12 players just to fill a squad. Buy quality over quantity. And that's what happened last summer.
That's the rumor now, isn't it? They reckon they want I wait Is it John Percy or something saying that Forest want to add four players. That's it.
>> Yeah. Four players, and want to keep the core of the side. You know what I mean?
And I think And as much as we want European football, and we want all the glitz and glamour, I think >> [cough] >> having this year with no European football will benefit us now because we need to start building. If we can keep that core core mentality and keep the good players, then we have to start now building to be able to get into that stage of being able to qualify for the European competition and being able to do your domestically league and your European league because I've always said playing in Europe is one thing. You lot enjoyed it going away home and away and that all that and we all enjoyed watching it. But for me, the top four four five teams are the only ones that can handle Europe here because they've got the revenue to be able to have two starting elevens that can play exactly the same. So, they can play one starting eleven on a Wednesday Thursday night and then play a starting eleven on a on a Sunday and still be equal. Where we struggled because we were playing the same eleven both and that's what we what's we suffered with. So, I think now with recruiting I just get like you say quality over quantity now because we have to start moving forward. Mhm. Uh people, please hit people hit the like button and subscribe if you can. And make sure you everyone follows Rads as well on Twitter Talks. The link is in the title as well. Someone was about to say something. Yeah, I was. I was going to talk about their transfer philosophy.
So, in the previous seasons, they've been buying young players that they can invest in for the future and look to sell at a future profit.
If that philosophy was in place at the beginning of this season, then absolutely they've they've kind of fulfilled that criteria because none of the players that Bar Hutchinson and Zezus have fulfilled any sort of potential and they've still got a lot to prove.
However, if they wanted to go for a European trophy, then maybe they should have gone for players who would have made an instant impact instead rather than buying for the future. And I would I do wonder if that's where they went wrong with their transfer policy this season. They did They seemed to buy which is fine, great for future seasons.
I don't have a problem with that, but it didn't help them win the Europa League this season.
Mhm.
Um we're not going to talk about Andros because we know all that what went. But there's a topic we are going to talk about Sean Dyche because I I I had a I had a little [clears throat] kind of chat with him, ex-Wolves player Steve Chettle, and Dave Flitcroft before the game. We had a very good chat had. And I said to I said to him about I I felt sorry for Dyche because I think he arrived at Wolves too early, I think.
If we got him in around March time and and we were still in the bottom three, I think he would have kept us he would have kept us up. Um good. But did anyone feel sorry for Dyche and even in the chat, did anyone feel sorry for Dyche, yes or no?
No, I'll start We'll start with you, Raz Das. Did you feel sorry for him? Yeah.
Yeah, I I like Sean. Um maybe if he had have started as manager after Nuno had gone, it would have been a whole different story, but yeah, it didn't quite work for him, but you know, I'm not sure at the end of the day.
Yeah, what you reckon, Raz?
Tricky one. I think when we appointed Vitor, a lot of us thought he was just [clears throat] going to be another temporary manager and we'd have to rip it up again and and you know, now, which would have been chaotic. So, thank god he's worked out, but I think if we'd hired Dyche when we appointed Vitor, it wouldn't have been anywhere near how we now view it because we appointed him in October. The season was still pretty young really and there was a long way to go.
Uh and I I just felt because we're on our third manager by October, it was like, well, if we don't get this one right, it's like, where do we go from there? And as it turns out, it didn't really work.
If we had kept him, I I don't know whether we would have got relegated, but But it would have been much more difficult for it wouldn't have been as as good as what it's been with Pereira.
I think if it was a you know a real short-term option it might have worked.
I I just think like 80% of the season it was a bit too long.
And maybe with the European expectation, I think the squad that he had it is a squad that I don't think he'd ever really would have had before like the level of talent.
We should have really helped him but I think this thing Dyche limited us a bit.
But I do I do think he he was thrown into the deep end without doubt like he had to come in and pick up a squad that had already had two managers in like what 10 games so it was a bit hard for anybody to come in to be fair but Is was Sean Dyche one of the worst managers we've ever had at six months?
No, far from it. No. We've had worse.
We've had a lot worse. Because I >> [clears throat] >> I hear I hear and this one Kevin, is Dyche still better than Vic Thorne? No, he's not. Because at that time Let me ask you Kevin.
When we beat Liverpool 3-0, when we beat Brentford 2-0, what did he celebrate?
Or did Or did he shout Dyche out?
Or Or that That's why I I I'm going to go at you Kevin. I'm just I'm saying Some people say oh he's he's crap da da da.
No, we beat What's our best away game? Liverpool away, right?
Yeah, we beat Liverpool 3-0 it was done by Dyche. Did anyone sack him off for that?
No, I didn't.
>> [laughter] >> And to be fair, our best footballing performance of the season was against Spurs at home.
Even Brentford away. Even Brentford away.
What's our best I think that's the problem with Dyche there is that he he could get us some really good results like like we say, some of the best results of the season [clears throat] were probably under him.
But he was also capable of producing some really tough games like the you know the Wolves game. Yeah, the the Wolves game the Wolves game for me was criminal. Horrific. Yeah.
No, the nil nil one where we had 20,000 shots on target. That one. Is that Sean Dyche's fault?
>> [snorts] >> Yeah, partly.
Not for that one. No, no question. Yeah, but he he had a clear cut chance. That's not Sean Dyche's fault.
Right, well should look at it this way, right? So, we we playing the bottom of the league team who can't do anything.
>> At that time at that time at that time Wolves Wolves were playing very good.
Right, no. Yeah, but they didn't beat us though. They were the worst team They were unbeaten in seven. It doesn't matter. They [clears throat] were the worst team we've seen down here this season. Look look look but people in the chat look at the fixture list they played.
They beat Arsenal.
They beat Arsenal it's the dead. They drew with Arsenal. They beat Aston Villa at that time.
Right, but Yeah, but I'm not on about beating Wolves.
But, at the end of the day you look at that game. That was the worst >> I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm No, I'm just No, don't get me wrong, right? Cuz I I love Sean Dyche. I think he's all I think he's great. I listen to his podcast, everything. I think he's great.
But, that game for me was the worst team I've seen down at the City Ground for a long time. And we couldn't put that ball in the back of the net. For me, it was criminal.
So, it was like but then then you go on, you get rid of him. Peter Vitor comes in. Everyone's going, "Oh, Forest haven't scored in all so many games and done this and done that." And then Vitor's got the same players, but does it but then we start banging in the goals. So, to me it's got to be You can't the players didn't take to him and his philosophy probably wasn't right for them. So he has to take some of the stick because you've got you get rid of him. If now if you get rid of him and then the performances still happen then it's not him. But you get rid of him and bring someone else in and then all these performances happen >> [snorts] >> You've got to look at it and go well he probably was he was the bad apple in the car at the time.
Fair enough. I think fair enough. You only have to look at the I think Go on say. Go on say. Oh thanks. Sorry Steve. I was going to say you only have to look at the demeanor of the playing squad now compared to what it was like under Dyche. You have a really really happy and united squad right now which was on demonstration yesterday at the game.
There's no way I don't think that would have been the case had Sean Dyche remained in charge and ultimately player happiness is one of the most important things cuz it's made it's meant the squad has played well over the last couple of months since we took over been in charge and Dyche couldn't bring that to the team could he?
No come on. You you you Simon come on. I disagree with Simon.
I Listen I understand that like Dyche didn't play fantastic football. I I get it.
Understand it but We we we we was in a situation We we we was in the bottom three when Dyche come in. I don't I don't know if we was there.
Was we in the bottom three? Uh just just above the league. No we we was in the bottom three. I thought we was second to bottom.
But he he he done one job to get us out of the bottom three and he did. And then when when we got result good results like I said against Liverpool, Brentford away We we were absolutely We were absolutely crap against West Ham and Wolves away and we still won that match.
Uh we got a good We had a good point against Arsenal at home. We got a good point at Arsenal and I think everyone everyone goes on like yes he don't he doesn't play tiki-taka football like The The [laughter] game The game that shot him in the foot was Rexham away.
Yes.
>> That's the game that No, Rexham and Everton. Because wait, yes, because yeah, and Everton that that I think Everton away was and [clears throat] Fulham away was absolutely uh Rex just came that way but It was all the It was the way yeah, it was all the way that they they they I think yeah, the Rexham game said it all.
But we Yeah. He he he did the the first afterwards. Yeah. Yes. Yes.
That that's the that's the point they were trying to make about that shot him in the foot because we going about Nuno, right? And even Ange with his Spurs comments, when a manager starts coming out then leaving cryptic messages in his interviews, you know there's cracks you know there's cracks forming then and that Rexham game for me when he when he threw him under the bus and he knows you knew he was hinting at people like Matty and Backer and Morata and these players.
>> we love that though? I don't I don't understand like don't don't we love like managers hit saying that? Like if if a player's playing crap, he's saying it.
Yeah, yeah. You do that. Because You do that. We all moan. Don't we all moan and say oh, why can't we just be honest and say about the players say the managers oh, just say how it is. He said it how it is. We moan about it.
I think I think all Ben, the difference is between us fans and the managers is they they manage the players and they get paid millions of pounds. Yeah, he didn't do that. That's my point though.
He said it how IT IS AND HE DID IT. BUT WHAT HE SAID ABOUT THE PLAYERS You're going to get ejected Steve, be careful.
>> [laughter] >> I'm trying to do I'm trying to get the the the running game.
I agree with Ben, I agree with him and I I'm the same with managers who call out refs. I think they should call out refs not get punished, right? But remember these players are very sensitive souls these days. You call out the THE PRIME MINISTER OR WHATEVER YOU PUT ON ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA.
>> [laughter] >> YEAH, YEAH, YEAH. BUT THESE play these players are very sensitive souls these days, right? And we all know they like to be wrapped up in cotton wool. And when their manager comes on TV and they'll watch that back and they're probably thinking they're going to think one or two things. I'm going to prove him wrong or screw you, I'm not going to play for you now. It's like you you get you shared that article then about the West Ham player. Yeah. Uh Trevoh. He he refused to play under Nuno after being subbed. Absolutely shocking.
And they've said that on talk sport as well. Shocking.
Play players play players are paid too much anyway now. And the reason they they they just don't like it. Back in the day, right? I I mentioned him earlier, Cliff.
Cliff would rip into anyone. Fergie would, right? Fergie, if his team didn't perform, he would defend them but also he would get his point across in the dressing room for sure. But he'd get his point across in the in in in in the interview as well.
But now, like they didn't like egos back then.
But now the players have got so much Mourinho did it. Jose Mourinho did that at Chelsea. Yeah. The the best managers even Pep. I I don't agree with it all the time. But you see Pep going on the field and berating his players even if they win 4-0. It's that it's that mentality. It's but the players either embrace it or they go against it and I think a lot of the Forest players have we heard rumors that Hutchinson didn't like the way Dyche handled him and so on.
You know what I mean? It's it's the way these players are.
If you see uh Dyche left and he goes on talk sport with Simon Jordan. Simon Jordan says to him, was it true that sir a few of the players after that game after the Wolves game went up to to the owner and spoke about it. And he says because I can't see that really being true. And Dyche turned around and said, yes it was. There was a couple of players and they had a meeting. He said and obviously they came to their conclusion and didn't want me around. Do you know what I mean? So, obviously, player power now is big, big.
Do you know what I mean? Cuz you sign these players >> three of them three of them was it three of them went up to the owner? Well, you've got multi-million pound players.
They got They pay them all this this money. They're the ones that are going to do this stuff on the pitch at the end of the day. So, you've got to try and keep them happy. And it proved it. You bring someone [clears throat] in that plays to their their strengths, and they like it, and you get results.
Do you know what I mean? We've just survived.
Do you know what I mean? survived with a bit of bit of bit of And then you talk about the Wrexham game with some of the players that played.
Weren't they some of the players that Vitor played in Europa?
Do you remember when he played when he put the second string side out the other week?
When I said to him, "Did he play them?"
Yeah, and you and they beat us a few.
They beat a couple in Europe. And then he said to him, "Vitor, after the game, oh, you put a an unstrengthened squad out." He said, "Well, I didn't really." He said, "Cuz these players played in Europa." beat this team, that team, and that team. And wasn't they the players that went and played against Wrexham?
Mhm.
So, you've got to look You've got to You've got to You saw all fine and dandy with Nuno. Chuck it all at Dyche, cuz it's not his fault.
I think he I think he he was brought in at the wrong time.
He was never going to I I think he Yeah, that's I agree with you, Danny. I think he came at the wrong time. That's what I think. He was never going to win. He was never going to win because Do you know what I mean? Of what had gone on. But, they they went with manager with Vitor that plays a similar style of football as Nuno, which the team was built to play that up. Mhm. Do you know what I mean? So, I don't know. As I said at that time, I think I I felt I felt sorry for Dyche, but I understand Like I said, it wasn't sexy football as we all football fans want. And that like Remember Who's the last time we we played sexy football under Billy Davies? Maybe? Like play great football.
People who played great People who he wasn't like fantastic. Last Last season at times was pretty good.
Yeah. The last last man The last manager we get it we we tried to play that kind of football as Mark Warburton cuz we tried to win Remember we had him in cuz he what he got a foot in and so on. We thought we were going to get this sexy football. We We know said it.
We've never been a a total footballing side.
Like I want playing teams off the park.
That's what I mean. We've always had a a different brand of football. We've never been an out and out Maybe Billy Davies, you are right. Yeah, if you go back and watch some of the highlights of that. We played some outstanding football. But we were such a well-balanced team back then. But we've never been the We've never been the prettiest team on the eye. You know, I mean that as a hardened Forest fan, you know, we haven't. You know, last season, we weren't the prettiest of teams, but we got results.
I had people come up to me in work saying, "Oh, what an What an ugly side you are to watch. You You You're rubbish."
Rubbish? We finished in the Premier League.
>> [snorts] >> Yeah.
>> [laughter] >> Well, we used to play Last Last season, we played the type of football of where we just sat back for 70 minutes of a game. That's the point. You know, THAT'S THE POINT.
THAT'S THE POINT. WE DON'T PLAY LIKE sexy football because Nuno just let the other team play, but when they lose it, we attack.
Well, we wasn't bothered because we came out with the three points at the end of it. Yes. You know what I mean? That's That's how we play. That's how we play.
But we wasn't at the bottom like this season. We've not We've been at the bottom majority of the season. Do you know what I mean? Which is which is which gets everyone talking then to talk at it more and go, "Oh, do you know what I mean? This this this style of football." I'm not bothered. I could You know what I mean? I'll take a scrappy 1-0 win for the next bloody 38 games next season. And we'll win the league. Then we'll want to talk about Oh, yeah. But you know what I mean? But you you will do. And then we'll And then we'll see Steve We'll We'll see Steve running around on his on his road in in a in a >> [laughter] >> a monkey a monkey suit. This is This is why This is why I don't have much sympathy. Sorry Sorry West Ham fans watching. Be careful what you wish for because they got a bit of snobbery about them. Is that Careful what you wish for.
They got rid of Moyes, right? Because of the brand of football. And look where they are now. Look where Everton are.
And if Careful what you wish for because they didn't like the brand of football, they got rid of him.
And look what they've done now. They've been relegated. See, I I was on the telly last night. I was on the telly last night and a West Ham fan was on there and he said to me um everyone wanted Moyes out cuz after winning the Conference League and now got rid of him and now look at him.
Relegation. So, I yeah I I said that.
Yeah, go on. Go on. Go on. Go on. Go on.
No, no. The one thing I I remember you and a a West Brom fan on the radio years ago, right? You said one thing I just It was stuck by me, right? You said I'd rather play brilliant sexy football and get relegated than play ugly football and stay up.
Really?
>> was just like what? What? That's again That's stupid.
That's ridiculous. No. I was just like That's just That mentality is just I think it was around the time doing Stoke was in the Premier League and they were stinking the place out. Yeah.
Then he was comparing to them and he I think it was Stoke he I He said I'd rather be like a Man City and get relegated than Stoke and survive.
Yeah, but Stoke Stoke Stoke played horrible football and I mean they just Stayed up, didn't they?
Mhm. Yeah, I just It would have been Uh people, please hit the like button and subscribe if you're new. I'm going for the comments >> [cough] >> tomorrow.
Uh good evening Mr. Dodd, Dylan, Raj, Raz, Das, Simon, and Steve. Hope you are well. I'm so happy Forest survived relegation and we're back I'll be back in August. Here here I see you in August, sweetheart. Hope you're good. Um what else is there? Good luck to Notts County.
Good luck with the Is everyone happy about Notts County?
Yeah. I like the club. I like the club.
It's just a fun base is just annoying.
Just like a little sister.
We were just shouting just for survival.
Ben.
>> Not not fans haters. The haters.
Yeah. That's why that's why I'm like, "Okay, well done lads can't hate." The I like the club. It's just the fun base is just annoying. Like a little sister.
Just annoying man. Um Dave Aiden my friend. All right lads, I hope you're well after a long season studio.
Roll on August Dave. You Where [clears throat] have you been Dave? Not seen you for a while.
Uh and imagine fourth in the FA Here we go again. When did you finish below Dave?
Oh great. We all know he came top of the league. We all know he came top. Yeah, you finished below me Ben, didn't you?
That much I know.
>> Yeah, I came I'm I came bottom of the league and Craig's won and I've got to save my head bald. So, I'm happy with that. Well, it's not much.
Something. Well, at least you get rid of all the gray. Listen man, I look sexy my gray hair. People are just jealous.
Well, mate I've got I've got it all here in my beard. [laughter] Uh Dave Dave that's brilliant.
Absolutely legend. On the screen I see in the five boy band. Eat your hearts out. West life or One Direction? Steve does dad will go on to the solo career.
What?
>> [laughter] >> Excellent. What's that? I'm I'm lost here. Steve's does dad. What? Is it your dad Steve?
Where's Steve? Where's Steve?
>> [laughter] >> Is it your dad Steve?
Or or your dad? Oh, well yeah I'm I'm lost.
>> know. Shout out to Dave. Shout out to Dave. [laughter] I'll go There's another legend man. Dave that's brilliant. I think his son's got to him I think.
Yeah.
All right people um make sure you hit like subscribe.
What about What about Pereira?
Um Yeah, yeah. Look. Let's go up Let's go up Raz dad. Yeah, Raz dad. Yeah. Yeah, All right, people in the pop in the chat and in the in the panel Prada has done a fantastic job. I think Was it the last game we lost? No, we lost to Brighton and then we went on the unbeaten record and that. And everyone's talking about it's Perera the long-term solution now for Forest. I want to get in the panel and in the chat as well.
Is it Is he a long-term solution now?
>> Yes.
100% yes.
Ross Matthew Sam, I don't know I guess you about that. Sam, go first. He's a solution long-term answer right now, for sure.
Uh whether it depends how you mean long-term, Ben. I mean long-term for Forest could be 6 months.
So, it it really depends on what you mean by long-term because, you know, knowing what Marinakis is like, if results don't go according to plan early next season, then Perera could be out the door and we could be doing the whole cycle all over again. So, really depends on on long-term. Do I think Do I hope it works out? Absolutely. Cuz we need some stability and Perera has done a great job so far. So, he's he's certainly the right man for the job right now. Um Ross Dads, what about you?
Yes, definitely. Yes, I think the fact that he can communicate with the South American lads, you know, it's Portuguese. That's a bonus. Yeah, that's a plus. But yeah, no, stick with him.
Um yeah, long-term. I think he can do good things for us. Just watch us go next season. I hope he does well. I just don't want like cuz when he was at Wolves, he lost big players.
Big players for that team. And we will talk about the players in later on show. But I just don't I want him to get I think he will be backed and that's what we need and I think then included everyone. He wants Forest want four good quality players. And if we do that, I think we'll do well. But you know what you know what Forest like you know Marinakis wants. Marinakis wants to push again and get that top seven.
Um Let's talk about players, man.
Individual players and people in the chat as well. Get involved.
Um We'll talk about Let's talk about Anson.
He's the main subject and everything.
Let me ask Let me ask you, Dale.
Oh, yeah.
People in the chat as well.
Do you think Anson will stay?
Yes or no?
Well, I made a comment. I don't think you saw it earlier on the group chat. Um I I I'm torn between if he stays or if he goes because if they've got the ambition that seems to be coming out now through certain sources in the media that they want to keep hold of these players, then maybe he stays. Do you know what I mean? But the way I look at it with Anson is the way we talked about it the last 2 months is he's going to sit at, which is fine, fair enough. Do you know what I mean? He's going to put He's going to progress on with his career.
But now, like I said earlier, City now become an uncertain team now that he's gone because [clears throat] they could They They've got to get a new They're going to get a new manager in.
They They might They might end up like United, spending the next 10 years trying to find the next six to be able to be up there.
Do you know what I mean? So, there'll be supposedly there's United in for him.
And if whoever offers the money that Forest [clears throat] wants, How much do you think he's worth? How much How much do you think he's worth? In the chat on the In the group chat, how much do you think he's worth? Everyone's been throwing 70 million, 110. Let's be realistic. They're reckoning that Forest want north of north of 100 million.
Yeah.
>> Yeah. I I think he's worth >> has a good World Cup, yeah, definitely.
Well, if you look at his good World Cup, Yeah, well, if you look Look at his career. Sorry, Simon. It's nice.
If you look at it If you look what he's doing at the minute, right? This is what This is where I think he should look at.
And you know what I mean, I'm no one.
But if he goes to City it's uncertainty. If they get who whoever they're going to get in what's his name um Morais got Morais got, right? Could absolutely go [ __ ] show. Could basically so does he does he stay does he go to City thinking oh yeah I might win something? Does he go to United which I think could be a safer bet if they offer the money because of carrot carrot here or does he think to himself well look I've just made the World Cup squad and with Forest Forest have got the ambition of keeping all the big players. He knows he'll hear more from behind the scenes.
Do I give him another do I sign a contract give him another year if it doesn't work I do move on.
So it's it's one of them if you know what I mean but either way Mhm. What about you Steve? Like I bet right I'm going to twist it. Like I said he's been linked with Man City and Man U and I've just seen people say Davies worth 115 110 If if if you had a choice of two clubs Steve where would you prefer him to go? Man U or Man City?
Well what I've been reading is Forest are going to use the Caicedo deal as a as a blueprint cuz he went for 115 from Brighton.
So if you look at them kind of numbers and Simon made the point of the World Cup you've got to include tax as well.
is I can see him going for at least 100 mil plus. Now I did prompt the group as well about I don't know if it was a rumor that someone had made up or a theft but they offered 90 odd million with Savio as a as a player exchange as well.
For me looking at his demeanor yesterday the way he he done the whole clapping as he walked off the way he walked around the pitch looking in the stands for me he might in the back of his mind thinking, this is it.
But like we've been saying, if Maresca comes into City, they want to sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea.
Looks like United have nailed Baleeba from Brighton.
So, Anderson could be looking like going am I just going to get lost in the shuffle now?
They're signing these players and that's worries me, Ben. To answer your question, I hate United.
But on the balance of it, I probably say he would probably be suited more at United than City because look what they've done to Grealish. Look what they've done to you some of these other players. They Sometimes they do >> as well. The the English players they Grealish >> Yeah. Uh >> John Stones. John Stones.
>> Um Fabio >> Yeah, Trafford.
Trafford. James Trafford.
>> Yeah. Yeah. You know, they ruin English players. I know the the the dynamic changes now with Pep gone.
But for me, I think United would probably be a better fit even though it break my heart to see him to go there.
But yeah, for me, I think he will go. I think Forest will cash in. The big The big transfer this summer will be him.
But if you go by Fabrizio, he's he's pretty [clears throat] He's saying this deal is going to cost a lot of money. A lot of money. It's This is going to be a Declan Rice kind of scenario. You're going to pay top coin for him. And I think they might be a player thrown in as well. It might that just a soften the blow of the you know, they might like I said about that rumor where they might be million and Savinio thrown in.
You know, United could could throw in a player as well. I don't know. It could be that kind of option to lower the price.
Um who knows? So, for me though, I I I think he's going, Ben.
I just think he's got I I just have this inkling he's going.
>> You know what? I can't I can't I can't Sorry, Ben. Go on. No, no. I wish I wish he went to abroad.
Like a Dortmund or Bayern Munich.
Cuz cuz he he was super but that that Bayern Munich team.
If if I'm honest, but like I said to you, I don't I don't want him to go to Man City or Man U because if we want to if we want to be like a top a top mid a top seven team or top eight team, I'm not going to go over TT and say top five cuz we're not I don't think we're ready for to be a top five team yet.
Um I wish we could Imagine tomorrow morning he signs a new contract.
>> [laughter] >> For Forest.
Ben this this Ben this is why Simon Jordan keeps on mentioning the set of a football's wrong now. And this is what's wrong. You're going to make a point then I know you're going to say then are we going to are we going to challenge to be a top seven club who keep on selling our best players? He said that because you got even Aston Villa as much as they are good, they'll probably end up after selling Watkins or Rodgers or one one of their top players.
We can never strive and Newcastle is the same.
You know, we're in that bracket now where if we I agree with you Ben, we need to push but we'll always be held back because of this stupid PSR rule.
It's to protect them. If If we kept the likes of Djed Spence or Gibbs-White or Anderson for three or four years, we wouldn't break it. But now every summer we're going to be in this spot where oh who are we going to sell this summer now?
It's going to be like that.
Yeah, yeah. Given it I was going to say if if the club take the decision to sell Elliot Anderson then the only way they can maximize his value is to sell him after the World Cup.
>> After the World Cup, 100%. That's why I I'm here I was hearing like Man U Man U Man City, they want to buy him before the World Cup. I'm like if you buy him afterwards, then he's going to he's going to go up.
>> Yeah. His value's only going to go up with a good World Cup and there's every chance that that's going to happen given the way he's been playing for England.
As to where he goes, I don't really care to be honest cuz Man United and Man City are not our immediate rivals right now.
We're we're not competing for a top three two or three spots. So, I don't see them as our immediate rivals. So, to me, I wouldn't necessarily be concerned where he goes.
Um and Dave has made a good point in the chat Ben about he won't move abroad because he wants to stay close to his family, which is absolutely right, I think, given what's happened. So, overall, you just got to think what's the best thing for Forest to do. You can't think about where he goes. It's it's like how much and yeah, in an ideal world, we'd all like him to stay, of course. Of course, we would. We want the best players playing for Forest and he's got >> know. You you never >> know. You You never know. He might be another Morgan Gibbs-White. Exactly. I was just going to say everyone expected Gibbs-White to go last summer and he didn't. The year before it was Murillo and he didn't. So, who's to say it the same thing won't happen to An Imagine that. That that That will upset all the money because you all you all know Go sit Go get him.
You you all know if you if Forest in the next couple of weeks sign into a new contract, you will then know the exact intent of what the club are thinking straight away. Because if they sign him They signed Murillo. I expected Murillo to leave in the summer. I thought he'd go he'd go abroad. Do you know what I mean? I think I think like Steve said, and I agree with Steve what he said that how can we strive when we when we keep saying He's in the England's team now. So, there's no excuse. There's no saying oh, he has to move to a bigger team to get in the England's squad. I'm sorry, but no, that don't happen anymore.
>> [clears throat] >> He's He's there now. And I don't know if anyone saw the article earlier regarding we don't have to sell because the the Elanga money goes onto this account.
So, Forest have no obligation to sell to sell.
>> [clears throat] >> Which I think the the only thing the only thing we can do is if Anson forces the move.
And and right now he hasn't. And that And that's why I'm liking my answer because for what he's done for for Forest and what Forest has done for him for last two seasons has been incredible. And I look at him now.
>> Yeah. He's talking about 150 million he's worth. And that's that's amazing.
The way Forest have treated him and his family on the back of his mother's passing, I don't think Anderson is the type of person to suddenly turn around and kick him in the face after they after they supported him through that.
So, I don't think that maybe is necessarily going to come into person. You know what You know what I mean?
I'll [clears throat] go on, Dylan.
I'm just going to quickly say he wouldn't be the player he is now if it wasn't for Forest.
He wouldn't have been this player at Newcastle. I'm sorry, but he wouldn't have made the team.
I know.
That's why I know.
That's That's why I Yeah. Yeah.
Anderson Yeah. Again, this This goes into the PSR, innit? Eddie Howe didn't want to sell him. But they have to sell him because of the PSR.
And I tell you one thing, if you let the shackles off and let all teams just spend, Newcastle would sign him back like that in a heartbeat.
If If you could just spend what you want, Newcastle go, "How much do you want?" How much How much How much is Newcastle worth? They're the richest club in the world. They could just say, "Forest, yeah, you want 200 million? Here's 200 million quid."
They would pay it cuz they got endless money. But Yeah, it's And And Has Has anyone seen the the interview he done on BBC iPlayer? It's only about 15 minutes long. No.
>> And he said about how he travels back uh the team the the club and I do remember the point then Dylan or Simon I think Simon said about how the club treats him. He said Forest allow me to go back, visit the family, have time with his dogs, you know, he just has to chill out there, he's relaxed, the club look after him.
You know, if Brennan Johnson White feels loved, but I think with the difference between Johnson White and Anderson, I think Anderson knows he's he's being watched by, you know, I know Johnson White's being watched by other clubs, Anderson knows deep down he's got these Once Once Man United and City get in your ears, you start thinking, "Hang on a minute. I've been touted now for these clubs." And once your head's turned in football, we all know what the outcome is. Your head turns, and that's it. I mean, Gibbs White was that close.
Yeah, but the thing you know you always you always hear somebody and if Anderson talked to someone and then someone talked to someone, it always comes out or Anderson wants to leave. But we've not heard it. And this is why I respect what Anderson's done because I personally think said He's He's like I said, if someone comes with a bid for 115, I'm I'm going to I'm going to be like accept it. You've been a fantastic player for us. You've been a fantastic >> him wherever he wants to go for that price. I'm taking him myself.
>> He's been fantastic for us. The I know we lost to Man United 3-2, but I think that was his best game for Forest. He was just He was outstanding. And you know what, right?
You mentioned the four managers we've had this season, right? And each one of them, I think surely Dyche has said it at one point.
But even Ange said it in your overlap.
He said, "What a player Anderson is."
What a player.
To your point, Ben, we I don't know whether you saw or heard the episode last week, but we had a conversation the four of us on our podcast around who is more important to Forest, Anderson or Gibbs White, and unanimously we all said Gibbs White was more important to Forest.
Yeah. This This is what I'm saying say This is what I'm saying I think Who is more Who's Who's more important, Gibbs White or Anderson? Let's go around there.
I think Gibbs White is more important.
>> Yeah.
I'll just I'll just say quickly I say Gibbs White. I feel he has a bit of a more of a connection with the whole system in Forest than Anderson. And And he is more important on the pitch as well. I think he just makes things tick.
And that Aston Villa game just stood out for me. That That semi-final when he didn't play, and that just sums it up. Yeah. I'm I That's That I'm on the Gibbs White bandwagon as well. Yeah. What about you, Razdad, Raz?
Yeah, our number 10 definitely. Yeah, I think he found us in worse to go to Man City. Well, would he go to Man City because of all these charges that may or may not happen.
Well, that's what I mean, is that what happened to Leicester in 2014? That's what left City because of these impending charges. We don't know. Well, no one knows. No one knows.
>> the money the money will probably um counter that, I think, Raz.
That'll be Exactly. Exactly.
Give it a go, definitely. Um I've got a question through the chat. Um this is from Michael Maxwell. How are you doing, Michael? Um don't sell Arsenal said the league will be more level than without Pep. And teams like United [snorts] more more and more than game a week and lots of new managers. Top five might be the option. You never know, Michael. Imagine that, top five back to Europe you'll be going around Europe again. That'd be mad. Um Dave, our lads all seem to be happy and I'm going to no hints there on them all looking That's what I'm trying to say, Dave. None of them want to leave.
And maybe I don't know, Danny Ings or Dwight wants to leave cuz he's not getting game time. Um but That's the difference between Pereira and Dyche, I feel. You know, would you really be saying that, Ben, if if Dyche was managing now that you'd have no players looking to leave? I'm not sure you would.
>> And I'll say like like like like Murillo, I don't know if Murillo would definitely would not sign a new contract, if I'm honest. Um people like I said, probably I'll go over the hour.
It's been It's been a crazy season so far.
>> sorry, Ben? Can I say one thing as well in going to next season?
As someone here made the point to you earlier, we got no European football next year.
We have to sniff blood now next year because the three teams coming up I don't think they're going to threaten.
And also >> Sunderland. Look at Sunderland.
Look at Sunderland. Yeah. Yeah, that's true. But, I think the amount of teams that were in Europe and if Palace win that Conference League, they're going to go into Europe again next year.
>> [snorts] >> We have to We have to seize this opportunity next year and these teams are going to struggle next year.
Because they're going to find it tough.
The likes of Sunderland I think Brighton I think I think they'll you said on the group Brighton might be all right cuz they've done it before.
And their recruitment is pretty good.
But these other clubs are going to Bournemouth they're going to find it really tough. I mean how long can they last in the >> Whatever people say I like Bournemouth they're great.
It's like it's like my point I tried to make earlier. Unless you are one of the big big five teams you unless you can buy two starting elevens that can play amazing football you will struggle and it's shown and it's shown with Forest.
You know what I mean? With with Forest this year playing European football and league football at the same time and using the same players. They get injured they get knackered.
And that's that's my what I think.
Do you know I was thinking yes as well when them Bournemouth fans were having their moment and Aouar was walking across the pitch I thought to myself I goes back to just when Cooper got sacked.
And one of the names in the hat was Aouar for the job.
And the amount of Forest fans are then going who's this guy? Who's this bum we're going to you know who's this idiot from abroad with nobody who nobody knows. Glasner was even even Glasner was And he was having who's this nobody and we we don't know who this guy is you know he's come from some Mickey Mouse league and Exactly. Careful what you wish for.
Exactly [laughter] exactly.
Well before I end the show like I said it's been a it's been a crazy season we've had we've had ups we've had downs we took we spoke about four managers but I want to go round the round the group as well round the in the chat as well.
I'm going to say um what's been your best and worst Forest game this season?
Could be Premier League cup match um Europa League um I'm going to start with mine.
My best one I'm going to pick two good ones Liverpool away where we won 3-0.
That was under Dyche but I'm not going to celebrate because it was Dyche.
Um and all that Um, and the worst one I'll say draw away. I've never been so angry I am going to a football match. So, yeah, that's the worst one.
Um Ask you >> [clears throat] >> Dylan, what's your best What's your best and worst?
My best was probably probably the Tottenham one at home.
Yeah, it was just just before Sangare went to the um African Cup of Nations.
That was my best. That That's when we looked We looked like we I have cuz I think that came on the back of That came on the back of everyone questioning him Forest. Ask him, what were they? Did he still have it in him? And that I think And the worst game was for me and I've said it is the Wolves game at home with 20,000 shots on target and to walk away nil-nil.
It was criminal for me that was, but That was Luca's fault. You know you know you know what I mean? Mention Luca. [ __ ] [ __ ] he's going back He's going back for the worst where he where he's going.
Yeah, definitely.
Don't [clears throat] come for a shirt again. Um Simon, best and worst game.
Best games for me probably Spurs and Chelsea away.
Uh I was lucky enough to go to >> complain about that.
Yeah, let me get in.
>> Yeah, they were great. Um worst game for me and it was Liverpool at home strangely enough because of the way it ended with the goal being disallowed, thinking we got a draw, and then them going snatching a a late winner when it was clearly offside. So, for me that was the worst I felt watching Forest this season, I think, from the top going off the top of my head, for sure. Um Um this is Dave. Best game for about you away.
Um atmosphere Well, it was mad. People If you want to see the vlog, go and watch that vlog. It was a one of the most I couldn't I couldn't I couldn't hear myself cuz it was so loud um and all that, but probably actually was a work It was good. Um What's the best and worst.
Best I probably say it's a tie between Fenerbahçe away.
Outstanding.
And [clears throat] Spurs That being said, the first half against Besiktas was probably the best football in half we played all season.
Outstanding.
Outstanding. But I think Spurs Under and Under Yeah.
I think Spurs I think Spurs away purely because the whole cringe thing of them doing a whole >> [snorts] >> the phrase and all that and the parade and all that. It was I was I was going I remember I was going through it Yeah. and Yeah. everyone flying and I I was like this What is this?
That was the game I knew we were going to stay up cuz we battered Well, I'm saying the first half they were all right, but and the Sunderland away Shout out to Sunderland away as well. We went up there on a Friday night.
Battered them.
The worst on a personal standpoint, Swansea away because I was there.
Uh and also I probably say Steven, look where the end of the end of the ship What are you talking about?
You asked me the question, mate.
Uh I probably say I didn't EVEN MENTION SWANSEA AWAY.
I PROBABLY say um uh Villa the Villa semi-final.
That hurt me.
And I will echo what Simon said only cuz I was there live as well. Liverpool at home.
They cheated us out of that and that was sickening as well. And I'll never ever forget that image of Andy Robertson and Keita just laughing at us on the sideline in our faces. Oh, great. That will That will always live by me.
Yeah. So Russ No, Russ Dazz, we'll be asking you next. What's been your worst and best and worst?
Uh two games for the best. Liverpool away, Spurs at home, definitely. And the worst uh Wolves at home. People at 70th minute were walking out.
It was trea- dreadful.
Oh, but then like you say, this is away, Chelsea away.
Brentford away. Even Brentford away was was great, man.
>> Brentford away with Taiwo scoring, yeah.
Yeah, that that that atmosphere was mad.
That was mad.
Um Rods that Rods, what's your worst?
Uh it's it's been such a difficult season, but we we have had a lot of really good games as well, which is what we got to hold on to, but I think yeah, Fenerbahçe away was very good away.
Uh and I think this both Spurs games and I think the second one was probably the moment where >> Spurs lost. Like why didn't they get relegated, man? Why couldn't we get relegated? Cuz that's the Villa Villa's fault. Villa Villa you Villa's fault.
Villa fans.
Uh complain Villa >> [laughter] >> I really wanted Spurs to get down.
>> I think the second Spurs game is I think it might have been the moment where we all thought are we back? Cuz it's like it was such a significant result.
And it it they really started to feel like there was a connection between the manager, the fans, everybody again.
Um there's been some good moments. The worst yeah, we don't want to focus on that too much, but I probably will say Wolves as well just to get it out.
>> are they all saying bloody Wolves, man?
Oh my. You drew one of the worst sides in the league. Yeah, well that That That time You know what? This is Dylan's fault for mentioning Wolves away and mentioning Wolves home.
>> that's your fault. West Ham home game then. That that was dreadful. THAT WAS ACTUALLY THAT WAS THE WORST ONE. Oh yeah, West Ham, yeah, yeah. Oh under the circumstances it was worse, really.
>> That was the worst one that was. But I understand Wolves one, but like Do you Do you know what Do you know what a under underrated result we had? It's past the right phrase, right? It's Man City away. What a point that was.
>> That was a great three point. That actually might have been the game where I felt like we were actually good.
>> That was a great I I I think we're forgetting about that, but I think that Sunderland away, the 5-0 for me was a statement one Because with their home record and you think of the scalps you've had this year, that that was and the way we played in that first half was wow. I I was special.
>> I was Yeah, I wasn't celebrating the goal.
I was just like, what's going on? I was You know what? I was next to Dave. Shout out to Dave and we were like, what the hell is going on? I was I was with Dave and Guy. I was like, no, this is not happening. What is what I'm like, no, I'm going to sit down.
Going to sit down and just like thinking what is happening.
Um but yeah, it's been a People on the chat as well. What's been your best in home Can I Can I ask Can I ask my question, Ben? Oh, yeah, go on. Go on.
Okay, so there's been a lot of clues in this show leading up to this. Well, I should have asked it at the beginning cuz you're probably going to get the answer now.
But there's only been two teams we've done the double over this year and been There's been two teams have done the double on us.
Can you name them?
Spurs. Spurs and Everton. Everton did the double on us. Everton >> Everton and Spurs.
Yeah, so that's the two who we've done the double on.
Brentford and Spurs. Yes, and Everton is the right answer for the one who's done the double on us. And there's one other team.
They did the double over us or Arsenal.
No.
No, Arsenal.
No, Arsenal.
Brighton. [clears throat] Brighton.
>> Yes. Yeah, Brighton. Yep. Yep.
Yeah, Brighton.
Wait, oh yeah, wait.
I'm going to ask one for you lot. So, it's the first time next season I'll put in a good try. I don't know if you lot answered it. It's the first time in the [ __ ] since the in football top tier Do you know it's Simon? Yeah, Simon. I know what you're going to say. I know what you're going to say. You do it, Simon. I think Did you Someone said Someone said it to me.
Yeah, it is. Do you want me to say it?
>> Yeah, go on, say it. Let's have him say it. Isn't it the first time in ever there will be no team in the Premier League beginning with W?
Yeah. next season. Yeah, did you not know that?
I didn't know. I the Premier League, yeah?
Yeah, they've got it right. No W.
Yeah, cuz we're we're in the relegation zone alphabetically.
It's crazy.
Yeah. Yeah, that's Sunderland and Spurs.
Oh, freaking hell. Never happened.
Oh, everyone panic. Get Pereira out.
We've been bottom three. Wow.
Get him out the club.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah. Yeah, that's that's that's strange. There's no W in Premier League.
That's that's that's weird. That's weird.
Um Yeah, Tottenham and Tottenham are bottom.
>> [laughter] >> That's where you belong, Tottenham.
That's where you belong. Uh people, it's been a great show. Um actually, I've got another show tomorrow. That'll be with uh Dez, Glenn, Aaron, and Kate. That That's at 8:00 as well. That is part two. So, it's been a great show. Make sure everyone follows Rads as well. Um like I said, Rads, before you do, what's been your best vlog that you've did?
Uh What's your most boring one? Yeah, there's been some good ones. I >> [clears throat] >> do what? I I don't I don't Rads, that you you're funny as hell. I saw the vlog you behind the tree.
>> [laughter] >> You know that one? That Yeah, I was a secret spy. Yeah, that that People, go and watch Rads Rads' vlog, man. That I would I don't know one in particular, but the It was such a special experience to do the Europa League uh ones.
I think I mean, in terms of results, like I mean, Spurs was was very good.
Uh Yeah, there's been a lot. I mean, we didn't We had quite a period, didn't we, where we didn't really win at home.
Um which we seem to have changed recently, thankfully. But yeah, we've we've had some good games, haven't we? Um home and away. I think we've had more good away games, really.
Across the course of the season. But, yeah, I don't really have one that stands out. I mean, I guess Porto uh at home.
Yeah, that was pretty special.
I've I've got one I've got one It's It's someone watching Jurassic Park or something. I just hear a dinosaur roaring. What's What's that all about?
>> [laughter] >> It's Rio Ferdinand.
>> [laughter] >> Um Ben, can I just throw one Can I just throw one more topic out there? Yeah, yeah. What's been What's been your favorite goal of the season?
Favorite goal?
Mate, I know mine is.
Sangaré against Sangaré against um Yeah, so Sangaré beat Spurs at home. Yeah, what Sangaré against Spurs.
Even more Give White a goal against um City. Man City. Yeah. As well.
Yeah, that was a good goal. Of course, it's Brighton.
Man City. Tielemans' goal against Brentford. That was a good goal.
Everyone Everyone doubted Tielemans, but I think I think he'll be gone. Um but yeah, people like I said, it's been a great show. Thank you everyone again, Dylan, >> [cough] >> Brad, Dad, Taraz, Simon, Steve. Well, make sure everyone like I said, follow the the channels. Simon, have you You've done a podcast, haven't you?
