Winds across South Florida could shift, allowing the Highway 41 fire's smoke to reach metro areas

[00:00:00]Always tracking, always alerting. This is Next Weather. Next Weather meteorologist Dave Warren happening tonight and when you wake up tomorrow morning, little change over the last few days. Smoke, the smoke is actually pushing to the in what metro areas now as the breeze is coming from the west and will continue to do so over the next few days. We'll see that smoke pushing from west to east from the highway 41 fire. So that will be the situation when you wake up tomorrow morning. Then we'll talk about the warm up that we have coming into the area. Heating up over the next few days with near record highs expected Saturday. The storms expected to move in Sunday and as we get closer to the weekend, we will work on the timing and look at new information coming in. Looks like right now it's holding off till later in the day. Right, the Next Weather radar not picking up any storms across the area now. We have temperatures which are into the upper 70s. They'll be dropping into the mid 70s overnight tonight and early tomorrow morning. Now the story that we'll have over the next few days is not only the warm temperatures, but also what's happening with our Next Weather rain tracker. We are looking at showers and an area of rain that continues to move through areas that need it. This is what will be causing our rain. It's over the next few days. The clock shows Friday to Saturday, big area of rain right here across the southeast and this front will eventually work its way south. That'll be throughout the day Saturday and Sunday. We are dry on Saturday, but talking about some very hot temperatures. Look at the highs. There's much cooler weather across much of the country, but as soon as you get to Florida, that's where you run into the near record high temperatures.

[00:01:42]Clearly a cold front sticks out on this map and it's something that we will continue to watch over the next few days. That will have near record highs and eventually that front will work its way south and what it means for our rain chances is initially that rain going across the southeast has the heaviest rain up across the southeastern states.

[00:02:01]The front working its way south. That is Sunday at 9:00. So it may hold off just long enough to get all the events that are happening this weekend, golf, F1.

[00:02:12]It's a big day on Sunday. Now Sunday night to Monday is where the rain works its way south.

[00:02:18]Once it's here, it sticks around for a few days and we could be looking at some good amounts of rain as the temperatures will drop because those showers and storms are pushing into the area. Low 90s back to the mid 80s. In the Next Weather 7-day forecast, it's the rain chances that we see. First two days are dry, but then you get the sunshine Saturday up to 92. Rain chance coming in Sunday, 88 degrees with showers and storms. Once they are here, they are here to stay Monday, Tuesday. A little lower rain chance Wednesday. That means our temperatures climb a few degrees.
